Fata: My friend Laura LOVED those pumpkins.. I asked FI about them, and he was like, who is going to carve that many pumpkins? And I was like, My dad? This is the other bout. I liked.

Amber, I LOVE the potted moss! I was considering that for my wedding, but given the bird theme, I think I am going to have the vine birds nest favors/placecards (also on the site), but with different candy. Now I just have to track down those *exact* vine birds nests! lol
sorry if someone already posted this, cause i didn''t read the whole thread yet-- but i saw the EXACT bird nests recently.
i''ll do some digging ---

here''s one, but not THE one: http://www.beau-coup.com/mini-birds-nest.htm
i found it!! i found it!!linky

Good job, JCrow!! Those things are sooo cute.

What do you guys think of this?

All courtesy of the Knot, of course!

love that! i would have used them, but my FSIL did similar things with pumkins at her oct. wedding 2 years ago.

Hi, I don''t know if you''re still looking for an embossing machine/insert plates...but I recently ordered an Embosser from this company: Living Victorian: http://www.livingvictorian.com/giftshop.html
NOT CHEAP!

Thanks, Ries (I love your avatar, btw), how do you like it??

If I did this with gold and wine colored sequins, would it look weird? My fiance is reaaally against carving 15 or more pumpkins, but I totally like the idea of carving our monogram (if I ever freakin'' find one) into it. Not even all the way through, just like, the front of it.

I say forgo the embosser. a stamp is pretty cheap . we just printed clear address labels from staples. whatever, I was over it.

I like the glitter pumpkins, not so fond of the sequined ones. too carnival-ish to me.... maybe you could just carve one pumpking w/your monogram for display next to the cake, or whatever.

Thanks for that idea, Flopkins, I also liked the glittery pumpkins better, I wish the picture was bigger, though. You''re right about the other pumpkin, a little drag-queeny (not that there''s anything wrong with that! )

I think I''ll either go with a stamp or make labels.

I bet if you were careful, you could actually do those with a spade bit on a power drill! That''d be fast and easy, right?

Thanks, Jcrow! I'm not sure if those are exactly the same (read: I'm psycho), but I like them better than the others I have seen!

ETA: Thanks for that weddingbee link, too! I've never been there before, but it is now my new favorite blog!

Fata: Our very own Albi is a blogger on weddingbee! She''s Miss Bluebell, but has been out of town, so hasn''t posted! Also, did you see the knottie bio I posted into your awesome dress post?

Also, do you think I could use an apple corer to take out the center of the little pumpkins? Hm..

Amber, I didn't know that! I'll have to go look for her!

Yes, I looked at that bio and I can definitely say that bride and I have really similar taste!!! She's even getting married in NC like me! Thanks for the link! I don't have the patience to search through a lot of the knot stuff, so I really appreciate it!

ETA: I don't think an apple corer would make a big enough hole for tealights, but it would work if you wanted to put tapers in them!

That''s EXACTLY what I was thinking! A quick zip with a power drill and you have a perfec tea-light size hole in those little pumpkins. Those tiny pumpkins are essentially solid... unlike the big ones. They would be a pain to carve with a knife.

did you click on the second link? "As featured in Martha Stewart Weddings and InStyle Weddings..."

i LOVE LOVE LOVE weddingbee~! if you go back and search through previous posts under one category at a time, there''s SO much great info!! i''m pretty sure that''s where i found my letterpress printer!!

Ooo! I''m loving the pumpkin votives and the pumpkins on the pedastals! Very pretty, I think I"ll incorporated it in my table decorations. Oh, and I found a bouquet that I''m loving too that has the fall colors, similar to those you''ve posted, but I love the feathery grass.

Sunkist, we are really sold on those pumpkin votives, and since the day of the wedding is 3 days after Halloween, I was thinking we could get some pretty cool gourds and stuff, too. Also, I think that bouquet you posted rocks!!

Fata: I am SOOO lazy lately, but recently got "trapped" in the fall weddings specialty bio! Awesome!

I *love* the sparkly gourds. What a great idea! I also love, love love that bouquet Sunkist posted.

All these pictures have me close to changing my overall theme.....must.close.thread.

Ebree, this makes me SO glad we''re going a November wedding- at first it was going to be April, but November is so much more "Us"! Do you think candles in a room during the daytime are bad?

amber: i''m having candles during the day in my tent reception in november. i think it''ll be ok.

Just lower the lights and pray for overcast skies!

I think it will be fine!

I think it should be fine, we''re having an indoor reception in a hotel ballroom, I can always close the doors! I''m so excited about this, my fiance has agreed with the more "fallish" wedding, and I can''t wait to go look for more things!

I am excited for you! I really wanted to get married in the fall, but as a teacher, summer made so much more sense. No I can live vicariously through your (and other fall bride''s) planning!
2.gif

That''s so funny, Fata: My fiance is a teacher, too! He''s also the football/basketball coach for two different schools. So to have a wedding while we''re young, we had to plan it the week between the end of football, and the start of basketball. He''s gone during the summer for beach volleyball tours, so the summer is out, too. He may miss a football game the day of the wedding, but I don''t give a toss! It''s our WEDDING day!! We were going to wait for the honeymoon until the end of November (thanksgiving? I don''t think so!), but he recently told me that he wants to do it right after the wedding. I was ecstatic, until he followed up with, "I''d rather miss the end of football than the begining of basketball!"

nice.
