Adding my latest upgrade. I traded my .71 E EC to a .90 J EC. The jeweler made me a new ring (just like the last one) because the shank broke on me twice so I though why not bump up my carat weight at the same time.

Not quite engaged yet, but he just purchased this beautiful .7 Asscher for the 18k family heirloom setting (which includes 6 wee emerald cuts on the sides!) The picture doesn't quite do it justice, but I had to sneak one before he hid it away... Here it is!

Not quite engaged yet, but he just purchased this beautiful .7 Asscher for the 18k family heirloom setting (which includes 6 wee emerald cuts on the sides!) The picture doesn't quite do it justice, but I had to sneak one before he hid it away... Here it is!

Haha! Well, we got it when we went to visit his family in Atlanta for Thanksgiving, and I got to look at it as much as I wanted until we got home and he put it in a "secret hiding place" for the proposal coming up. We looked at it about every 20 mins on the 16 hr drive home! haha So, I did get to spend a little time playing with it, but I'll be glad to see it with "fresh eyes" when he proposes. As I said, the picture doesn't capture its beauty. Whoever said emerald/Asscher cuts "don't sparkle" was clearly not looking at our rings, eh?

I hope he does too. I'm trying really hard not to peek! Oh yes, we looked at it in every light we could! On the way home, he told me that he was seriously resisting just pulling over by the side of the road and proposing to me there because he was so excited for me to wear it and to ask me to be his wife. My heart pretty much melted.

On something that important I'd be good and not peak too. That is very sweet he is excited for you to have your ring. Do you know when he is going to propose or is that a surprise?

It's going to be a surprise! We thought that since we totally picked out the rings together, it might be nice to have a surprise proposal. We're both actors, so I know he'll enjoy creating a wonderful theatrical moment.

The ering is a 1.11ct VVSI K Emerald Cut purchased thru James Allen set east-west in the Sholdt semi-bezel purchased thru Pearlmans.
My band is 2.15ct five stone of G-H VS2 Emerald Cut diamonds from a local jeweler. I am thrilled with how well they go together

Thank you! My solitaire is an EC but has a ratio of 1.06. When I view it north-south it looks like an EC, but east-west many have thought it was an asscher. I love both cuts so this diamond was the perfect choice for me.

I love the rings of this thread!! Step cuts are the best! Here is my 3-ring wedding set. On the engagement ring, the center cut 1.75 Emerald has four small round brilliants & two small pears beside it. The two wedding bands are made of four round brilliants each. They all fit together to form a halo.

Thank y'all! It does sparkle like crazy. I was worried it may come off looking like costume jewelry on my size 3.75 finger, but those worries were short-lived. Actually, I didn't design them myself...I owe the credit to my husband, who was the creative genius behind the set. I was definitely blown away.
