Engaged on 12/12/12! 1.32 RB solitaire

What a beauty! Your ring is so elegant & timeless ... I LOVE it =) !! What type of wedding band are you thinking of?

Congrats on your engagement! Your ring is beautiful! Does your camera have a macro setting? I would love to see the detail in the prongs, up close from the side! Your stone looks like a very white "K"!

Thank you!! I'm thinking of an eternity band of some kind, probably not too big... but I haven't tried any on yet so we will see! Another idea I had in my mind (but haven't seen any real pictures of) would be a band encrusted with lots of pave... but that might be kind of impractical if pave is more prone to falling out?

Ahh yes I would love to take a good pic of the prong details. I'm using a DSLR with a 50mm f/1.8 lens, so it's not quite macro enough to get super close. I did order a macro lens so will hopefully have even better pictures soon! In the meantime I will experiment some more and see if I can get some side shots.

And I think it faces up pretty white too! I went to help a friend try on some rings and the jeweler was surprised to learn mine was a K  Thank you for the compliments!!

Ah, yes I agree w/ you about the encrusted pave. Gorgeous to look at and I think a great idea as an anniv band that's worn alone & not very often. But for an everyday wedding band I'd be too nervous (this coming from a woman who's set has full eternity bands ;) )

To get ideas, you & your friends should spend time in the large jewelry stores, like Jareds, just to try on (not buy) a bunch of looks (channel, shared prong, etc) as well as a variety of band widths. Then once you think you have a few ideas, buy some CZ "replicas" & live w/ each of them for a few days. Doing this saved us so much money & disappointment!

Ooh good idea! Is there good site for buying replica CZs?

Here are a few attempts at capturing the prong details (taken with my iphone actually!) as well as an earlier pic of the ring under fluorescent lighting - it really sparkles like mad! To me it looks more yellow under fluorescent lighting, but that could just be reflecting the yellow-ish wood desk.

The prongs are fabulous, they look like a pretty tulip! Thank you for sharing such a beauty! I will keep a look out for more pictures of your gorgeous ring! :appl:

Since I didn’t have any knowledge of CZs, I searched the web and ended up using 2 sites: Berricle.com & JewelryPayless.com. There are a ton of others out there though, you can even order through Amazon.

I just saw the side shot of your ring and WOW your prongs are truly  GORGEOUS  !

So, as you look at ideas for wedding bands, you’ll want to make sure that whatever you get has a very low-profile so that it doesn’t scratch the diamonds on your fabulous prongs. That tulip design is so pretty!!

Thank you for the kind words!
Here's my attempt at a flower shot :)
