Hello Everyone,
I am trying to decide which path to take with purchasing a wedding ring and engagement ring. My girlfriend really wants these two. My issue is that they are being shipped from Israel and the vendor will not send me any spec's on the diamond until I buy it. The vendor disclosed the information below to me.
"I do give a 1 year warranty on my jewelry that cover any flew in the design (should not happen).
Diamond of size 0.7ct or heavier comes with an IGL (International Gemological Laboratory) certificate for minimum grading of Color : G , Clarity : SI1.
The Exact weight, and proportions of the diamond depend on the diamond I will get for your ring, I can tell you that a 0.7ct diamond can vary between 0.68ct to 0.74ct."
These are the specs out in the open on the page. I will be getting the .7ct version and it is priced @ $2,900.
Diamond -
Weight - 0.3ct / 0.4ct / 0.5ct / 0.6ct / 0.7ct
Color - G
Clarity - SI1

My girlfriend wants a rose gold ring, with a thin band (3mm) and she wants the diamond to be non-conflict. This ring specifies recycled gold which she likes but is not a requirement. She loves the "braided" band look. She wants a ring that is less than a carat, .7ish is fine.
I am tempted to buy just the bands from the vendor and buy the mounting and diamond elsewhere in the USA. My appraisal person who I know well offered me a diamond for $3,400 that is "equivalent". She warned me that the diamond from the vendor may be lower quality than advertised and I wouldn't be able to track them down after the payment is made.
If anyone can give me any guidance in this process it would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
