I hated to go diamond-manic and trash the money for a great sales smile.
One of them had a higher quality stone often pulled out the ring invited people to check on closely. That''s sort of showy huh. So I figured why bother to buy the top of line. I may save the money to buy her a fur coat or something else. But now I am afraid of entering a fur fan site and be talked into a 50k fur. Oh my this is endless isn''t it.

It seems to me most of you diamond lovers are much into the cut, and less into the wt and color, and keep the clarity as low as tolerated by naked eyes.

I try to go with 1.2-1.4. The average diamonds sold in USA are 0.3-0.9. But I guess once you log into this site you already above average.

I also think you''re starting to absorb the pervasive "Pricescope" mentality .. that CUT is king (especially for round stones). If you stick with "Super Ideal" or "Ideal" cut stones - as defined by reputable vendors & fellow rock fans on here -- even though other people might not know *exactly* why your ladies stone is "better" ... it will outshine 99% of other stones. No showing off or being "showy" or having people examine the stone closely necessary. It''s like a secret only you''ll know ... or you & she will know. That you put time & effort & energy into educating yourself & bought an OUTSTANDING stone that pleased YOU (not a particular salesman or anyone else.)

Personally, I think a Super Ideal (Hearts & Arrows) or Near Ideal (Expert Selection) 1.2-1.4 GIA or AGS cert''d "G" or "H" eye clean stone would be a FABULOUS choice for a size 4.5 finger.

And you''ll still have nearly 1/2 your original budget left for furs

or .... a watch! Or ... a diamond pendent! Or ... diamond stud earrings ... so are SO RIGHT .. it never ends!

Order the 1.25 ACA from WF. Send it off to get set and you are done. You are already talking fur coats and you haven''t even bought the diamond yet. Sounds like you are more nuts then me. Good luck.
