Ikea ROCKS!!! I love going through their modeled area, then I love even more going downstairs and digging through their accent pieces. Oooh, an Ikea house is going to be great, girl!

New furniture arrived, everything in one piece and looking great! Yay!

You can see the pretty new patterned rug from Lowe''s in the living room. Behind the sofa is the dining room area which now has this rug on the floor:

I love high top tables and I got this on sale last year. This is very sturdy and is a rich espresso brown, much better quality than expected.

This took him FOREVER to assemble, poor fella. He had a rough time with the instructions not being printed well, and the top was a bit scratched so we had to touch it up, but it looks great now. My desk is HUGE (about six feet wide for grading papers and such!) and is more of a cherry color like the other desk, though. I also have this great rug from HomeGoods to put under mine:

I have a Kandinsky art print that almost matches this rug that will be hung in the office room, too.

Another acquisition! We picked up this bistro set at Sears yesterday for the balcony. FI and I put it all together in about an hour. The table and one chair is a little wiggly, but the metal legs aren''t totally formed right, I think. We may be able to bend the metal a bit, or I can get some little felt pads for the feet.

I''ve been eyeing that Mission desk from Target for a while, but was concerned about the quality. What do you think? I love the trestle desk too. Isn''t it fun fitting out a new place?

The Mission desk was pretty nice for the price. I would have purchased it for myself a year ago had I not needed the extra desktop room for my teaching stuff. If you have the room for it, I HIGHLY recommend the trestle desk. It''s a great piece of sturdy furniture. The walnut ended up looking much prettier when it arrived because the color was more of a cherry finish. I had a hard time finding baskets to fit in the trestle shelves, but I did eventually find something that worked. I could probably cover them to match better, but it''s not a huge concern.

I am sooooo sorry I couldn''t respond yesterday!

I don''t have internet at the new apartment yet and I couldn''t get on a computer elsewhere. I am using the PC at school in my classroom right now. I will be back online at home by Thursday this week, so I can make more prompt responses.

I DID go down there yesterday with a few girls and we browsed around. That place is pretty amazing, and I already saw a few things I wanted to go back to get. It was not very crowded around 11 am. Maybe we can meet there next week after July 4th? What day would be good for you?

Don''t worry about it. It took at least 10 days to set up the internet when we moved, so I understand. I''m glad that you saw some things you like. I have a short list of furniture I''m also looking for. Meeting later sounds great. I have an out of town guest from July 7-10, so before or after that would be best.

I hope your ring stays better... I saw your other thread, and felt so bad for you.

Just an FYI for all my buds here... My internet is now back up and running! I set up our wireless connection here at the new place and it is all working great. Also, I can deviously NOT tell FI the password to get on until he takes me grocery shopping later, muahahaha!

Our cupboards are so empty, they make a sucking noise when you open them!

So anyway, I am able to respond again and looking forward to catching up on some reading here. Have a great holiday weekend!
