So I thought I would post this beautiful winter queen necklace.
I feel better already!
Just curious. Between this necklace and those killer earrings, which would you choose?

Given the choices, I would opt for the necklace as it is grand and has more presence compared with the earrings IMHO.

It was a hard hard hard choice but I do think the necklace will make a greater impact from an outfit perspective simply because it is "bigger"

They are both gorgeous, it honestly came down to "What is more visible" for me.

The issue I might have with the necklace is that, I might need to add some kind of extender at the back, so that it is long enough to sit well over a Mandarin style dress collar as seen in the photo.

Also, how would it look sitting against your bare skin? Would it still be as striking?

Yes, the necklace is grander. It has more volume and it isn’t flat. The surface is curved and for such a big piece, it doesn’t feel heavy, uncomfortable or irritating.

My hair is usually down so earrings tend to disappear. But if I wore this pair, I would have to wear my hair up!

The necklace is one sculptural piece, with no extender. It is one of those unfriendly “take it or leave it” pieces.
You have a very good point @dk168. The necklace doesn’t really stand out on my skin (see pic below). The diamonds look fine but the jadeite cabs just blend in, groan. The necklace would do better on a tanned or deeper complexion.

Anyway, as one of the jewellers told me, it is a new year with countless possibilities and more jewellery! Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

A bit late, but I vote earrings all the way! I think they’re:
- Vibrant (esp with the pave) to stand out against dark hair if you wear your hair down
- More opportunities to wear them: is more casual than the grand necklace which would only come out in very formal settings IMO
- You can wear it with Minerva EVERYDAY if you want!

Heh, I just bought some bright green earrings at Mason Kay....soooooo, I am so good at treating myself! But a snake something is on the list somewhere. I can't really go the imperial level of gem jadeite, but the creamy texture really matches the fox. Who I love to wear. Maybe my favorite jewelry to date. They are
brighter green than my camera catches. It's freezing outside right now, so no outdoor pictures.

Apart from the ring with a 8mm commemorative gold coin from Royal Mint with a snake on one side to celebrate the Year of the Snake, I don't have any other snake-themed jewellery.

She’s bright green in real life and I love her so much because she was as green as I could afford to spend on a bangle.
