I have a soft spot for red spinels. Ahhh. Thank you for posting this, TL. My little red spinel looks like that sometimes.

Pink sapphire and Paraiba necklace (forgot where it came from, I found it on Google images), I'm debating using this color scheme to set my seafoam cuprian oval..

I think the colour scheme is beautiful and sweet, Mochiko.

I think it's a bit too girly for me if it were a necklace, but in a ring it might work. Like candy!! :)

US $200,000.00 found on ebay.

Wow, could have fooled me as a ruby necklace. Truly spectacular!

Chrono- me too! I thought those were rubies.

I can't believe the sheer amount of bixbite it must have taken to make that necklace - how did they find it all and in those sizes! :cheeky:

Isn't it absolutely amazing?

You can buy the emerald cut version at http://davidmoy.com/wp_site/?product_cat=emeralds Yes, if you read the bit under the photo above there were THREE necklaces of different cuts!!!

OTOH... Equatorium apparently made this spectacular bracelet as well - I've just taken a bit of the pic - go to the Natural History Museum of LA mineral sciences blogspot and click on the photos for the big versions - these people understand we need close ups! http://nhminsci.blogspot.com.au/2013/02/tucson-part-1-gem-shows.html

No wonder this stuff's rare - Equatorium have got it all

I would be too scare to wear a bixbite and tanzanite bracelet. Imagine dropping that!

Don't!!!

And always stand on carpet to put on and take off jewellery ;))

If necessary I'd just frame & hang it so I could stare at it. Gorgeous.

I realized I would have to go to Tucson with somebody strong, who could hold onto me & my wallet. The opals are knockouts in the NHM blog & I love the Boulder Opal -- looks like a rocker t-shirt. The Paraiba pendant goes without description; there is no fitting one.
