Eye Clean SI1 in a 4+ carat RB, possible?

I think this is Garry's store: http://www.hollowaydiamonds.com.au/ and I think it's in Melbourne. Not too far away from Sydney, definitely closer than NYC. =)

Oh yay melbourne perfect! I have a flight credit to melbourne and everything.

Hi all,

Wondering to an amateur will there be a noticeable difference between an F and an H?

Thanks

I have an F and an H (although it is a high H closer to G), and I can see the difference. However, the H stone is ideal cut and is very beautiful! So I am fine with an H, but G would probably be my first choice. It's not worth the price jump to F, IMO.

Thanks so much I think I will stick with my original mind set that G is the warmest I will go.

I think you'll be pleased with a G, although it is possible that Garry might have an H with fluorescence that looks whiter than usual. From the past, I seem to recall that Garry only carries H and higher, so he'll understand your desire for a higher color stone.

I am in not in melbourne so won't be going with Garry unfortunately but thank you for the info :-)

If you'd consider a 5ct H with SB fluor (within yr budget), I may be able to point u in the right direction! ;))

I am considering it myself. If I decide not to go for it, I may be able to let you have the contacts (not sure how though, since PS does not have PM function).

Ohh yes I would consider definitely!

I can post an email here you can contact me on if that works?

Thanks!!! :-D

Nope, posting email is against forum policy. Ask the admin to help out.

How do I contact admin?

Use the report concern button.

Thanks very much :-)

Stone-cold is right. We cannot post email addresses here.

I'm still trying to decide whether to go for this stone. It has strong blue fluor, so am thinking about whether or not I'd like that. In addition, it's not an ideal cut but for some reason it's got an HCA of less than 2 (I may open up a thread abt that). If I decide not to go for it, I'll contact admin and give them the details of the vendor for you to contact. If I do go for it, I'll post here and let you know so you don't wait. It may take a couple of weeks or so. Of course, I'd need to ask the vendor's permission to release their details to you. Hopefully the stone will still be around then.

What I can do is to mention to the vendor that someone else is also interested and to ask them to give you first dibs if I don't buy it. It'd be up to them to decide.

Sorry if this is a bit frustrating for you. Hang in there! :))

Phoenix, not a problem at all. Thank you so much for all your help and information. Sounds like a gorgeous stone. Is it in Sydney?
I am currently seeing someone in sydney who is calling in stones for me and wondered if it might be them as they said they had a 5ct coming in next week!

No worries! :))

This stone is not in Sydney, no. My vendor has it with them, so it's not going anywhere for the time being. But if s.o. in Sydney is bringing a stone for you and it's within yr specs and price range, then go for it! [i'm such an enabler, he he! ]

Hahaha! I am also an enabler!

They are bringing it in for someone else and will let me see it to decide if I am keen on a 5 rather than a 4.
I think I will definitely need some fluro if I am going to go an H.

Hi there,

I've decided to pass on the 5ct with SBF. I'd like to look only at ideal cut stones with no or med blue fluor (it's a bit difficult to do this when you're not in the US). I know you're in Australia. Perhaps you could have an Independent Appraiser in the US look at it for you, if you're not fussed with non-ideal vs. ideal cut stones?

You can contact me for vendor's details if you go to DiamondBistro. I'm there as Phoenix 888.

Thanks so much Phoenix!

Have decided to go with someone here in Australia. Thank you though.

Hi All,

Ok so the search is still on going but have been dealing with a merchant in our city and think we have found the one.

It is a 4.17 EX/EX/EX E colour No Fluro SI2- it is eye-clean. It is about roughly $73,000.

Wondering this is a fair price? Am I blind or would this really be as eyeclean as I think- I couldn't find any examples on PS but I am sure there are lots.

Will I be safe with SI2?

It was possible.

It was found and I am now the proud owner of a 4.18 E colour SI2 (eyeclean) RB. I am in love with it. I saw it again today when I went to the jeweller to design the setting and I was blown away. Thanks for everyones help and advice.

I have decided on tiffany novo band with classic tiffany head.

YAY!! Congrats,

I've been absent from PS for a while, but just saw this and wanted to say how excited I am for you!! :appl:

Do you have further specs and most importantly pics of the stone you could share with us?

Thanks so much! :-)

Don't have photos but here are the specs:

Measurements: 10.33-10.37 x 6.39
Culet: Pointed
Depth: 61.7%
Table: 56%
Crown: 35
Pavillion: 40.8

NICE!! Very nice!

I can't wait to see pics when you have them.

Hehe sooo happy with it. Saw it again today and it blew me away it was in the words of my SO "so incredible sparkly, white and wow" hahah so cute!!

Cannot wait to have it finished. Will be going in again a week from today to see the band before they set the stone in case of any changes. I guess after that it is the waiting game. Hopefully I'll be able to take some pictures before SO takes it away haha

10mm in diameter, wow! Can't wait to see your pix.

I cannot wait to have it finished. I am going to sneak a few photos as I could be waiting a while!
