Gorgeous pieces everyone!
Logan, your ring is amazing! The stone is so much nicer than the vendour shots! :appl:

Very pretty Lovinggems!
Reading this whole thread has opened my thoughts about budgets for genuine gems in really nice settings. Kudos, all.

If one would be on a very tight budget, it doesn't get any better than this: a lovely bright light lemon mali garnet from Jeff Davies ($ 46) and around $ 30 for materials (sterling silver) :) So $ 76 for the two rings! Made by me :D

I love the mali garnet, it is really bright. My eyes are seeing far less grey than photos pick up.

Lovely! Mali garnets are truly lively, sparkly gems. Love that you made your own rings. :appl:

Nojs - how did you learn to make your own jewellery? That's so awesome! Lovely rings btw

Nojs, your set looks great! Congrats!!! :appl:

Thank you luxroman, Siameseroo and LisaNR! :)

I have taken classes with local hobbyists gem societies. It's really fun, and every piece I create is better than the last, so it's very rewarding as well :) I have some nice designs in mind to try next. I think I'll try to polish these a little more and then have them rhodium plated to keep them from tarnishing. I know people have mixed opinions about rhodium plating silver, but I have done it many times before and I works for me :)

How cool!

Wow, I am so impressed! That ring looks great!

Fabulous new additions!

luxroman: your ring is true elegance!! Gorgeous color of the center stone and the ring looks beautiful on you.

Lovinggems: what a beauty!!! I cannot believe your ring came out under the 1250$ threshold. What a stunning result.

nojs: wow! Your set is amazing. You are so talented. I love your set. Thank you for sharing the pics.

I got this merelani mint garnet ring off of loupe troop recently. I know the garnet was cut by Dana, but don't know the weight. It is set in Argentinian silver and I bought it for just over $100. I absolutely love it!

What a fabulous find picante27! It is simply divine :)

I also admire the other gorgeous pieces in this tread, especially those of Lovinggems and luxroman resently posted :)

What an amazing find picante!!!!
Your ring has such a luxurious feel. I cannot believe you found it at that price. Enjoy wearing the ring. That stone is divine.

Pretty rings, and neato you made them! They look impeccable.
I played with pmc and trips back in the 90's. Nothing like this. Congrats and thanks for showing!

Small, but exquisite and has a large presence. Packs a punch. I'm jealous!
Enjoy your beauty!

Beautiful additions!!! I am always impressed by how beautiful rings can be made or found for this budget.

Very cool that you were able to make your own set, nojs.

picante27, very nice score. I have been eyeing merelani mint garnet lately.

Lovingems, I really love your Yvonne paraiba ring.

luxroman and tourm-guy...beauties!

Wow, thanks everybody for all the nice comments about my ring! I'm typing on my phone, so please forgive me for not mentioning your names individually.
I had been hunting for a nice mint garnet for some time and was shocked at how expensive they are! Add to that the cost of a setting and it was looking like a fairly expensive project. I definitely feel like I hit the jackpot with this little ring!

I love reading through this thread, there are so many gorgeous pieces and great deals!

Thank you _lovesvintage_!

Rfisher: Thank you for your kind words! I made the ring from 3 mm round solid 925 silver wire. The crown/head was cast and then trimmed to fit the stone. I don't know the names of all of the equipment in English (I'm not a native), but first you roll the 3 mm round wire to nearly "half round". Measure to fit. Then join the ends so that they are perfectly level and then solder the ends together. Round up on a ring mandrel. Then hammer around half of the ring flat. Then file it. Then saw the pit off that needs to accommodate the head. File. Solder head. Trim the prongs and file/drill a seat for the stone. File everything with multiple coarseness of files. File the prongs as needed. Then set the stone. Finnish the prongs as needed. Then polish and clean with ultrasound :D

This was the first ring I have ever made and it took me around 8 hours to do it.

The band is made from 4 mm half round solid 925 silver wire, and is the easiest thing ever to make. Just measure the right length, then join the ends so that they are perfectly level and then solder the ends together. Round up on a ring mandrel. File. Polish. Clean up. That's it :)

I wear the set on my right hand (I have my engagement ring with 2 wedding bands on the left). I wear both rings on the ring finger and I quite like the look :D

Diamond zone did it. I have no complaints it was a fair price for the size and unique shape and the quality is very nice.

Neil: Gorgeous! And love that it was within a reasonable budget! MDZ did a great job!

Dang, Niel! You really are the queen of beauty on a budget! That's some great bezel work.

Picante: did your ring come already set or did you buy the silver setting? I ask because I really like what I've seen of argentinium silver, and that setting is so simple and sleek so wondered where to get something like it!

Wow Niel, MDZ did an amazing job bezeling that stone! No easy task with the sharp corners, believe me. Absolutely gorgeous pendant!

Hi lovedogs! The ring came already set. I could ask the seller where she got the setting from if you'd like.

Lovinggems, your new ring is fantastic! The color combos work so well, I love it!

Thanks, Picante! That would be great! I like more cost effective settings for some of my less expensive CS, especially ones I know I won't wear all the time. Sadly most of the ones I love the most seem to be from DanielM (who recently has had tons of problems), so I don't really know of any other vendor who does it.
