Fabulous CS rings under 2,000 dollar!!

It's 3.5mm thick (so not a hugely high dome), I think it might be darker than desired and no "glow."

Might be an unsavoury modifier to the green too although I can't see it cuz I am bad with modifiers!

Haha this sounds like I don't like it but I doooooo! Lots!!!!! I am guessing this is why it's priced lower.

Mine was priced below $1000. In comparison this was $1430. See the glow, green, more translucent etc

There must be something as I don’t understand their pricing. Sure below is more “glowy”, slightly bigger at 10.5 to 10mm but the price difference is huge! Thickness is 4.5mm.

The pricing confuses me too @Seaglow which is why I tend to nab stuff when it's the right price for me.

The thickness of the ring included the gold. Maybe it's a very thin sliver?

I thought it’s the cab size thickness.

This one came in at 1250, so I'll post it here hope that's ok. It is a 5.13 carat purple spinel. I know she's kinda dark and moody, but so am I so it's a keeper:lol:.20181024_172903.jpg20181024_172710.jpgThe last pick was taken during my sunrise walk this morning.20181025_073920.jpg

This is so beautiful! I love how the setting lets the spinel be the star of the show!

I love that purple spinel—and love how it changes colors! Congratulations!

Lovev the raw, earthy energy the spinel and ring exude.

What a sumptuously large stone... I love the almost metallic crystal of it. So crisp and sharp with moody color shifts.

@Bluegemz @Burmesedaze @MissyBeaucoup @Hivona Thanks ladies!

I am really happy with it. I have been wanting a purple stone that wouldn't be mistaken for an amethyst and I think it got it. Spinel is my absolute favorite CG and I love the large carat weight. I forgot to mention in the original post that it was a recut by Dan Stair, so she really sparkles and not a window in sight. I'm pretty sure I will eventually reset it in white gold because the gray-purple she is in most of my lighting would look better I think.

The cutting looks great. Do you have a 'before' shot of the spinel? I have a similar one I'm thinking of having recut.

Well under $1250? Really? You are turning into a burmesedaze or a seaglow. (Huge compliment!) Wow!! What a great find.

Haha nowhere even close to those two but I appreciate the compliment!

I am pretty thrilled though considering my options are so limited in Australia!

This ring is everything I love about spinels. If you ever think of selling- I call shotgun.

Beautiful spinel, amazing size! It really showcases the almost metallic quality that spinels have to their lustre.

2.27ct Ceylon unheated sapphire in 18k white gold with a smattering of diamonds. Came in waaay under 1250 :)

C67E4BF7-AF5E-4D82-B4C3-62ECE365E255.jpeg Precision cut pink to lavender color shift spinel in rose gold and diamonds. I bought the setting before gold prices went up from $400/oz to over $1k, and the stone, around 2.5 carats, was a really lucky purchase from eBay seller technofacet, a long time ago. Sorry the ring is dirty.

D75800B3-D41C-4165-924B-39E0B74A800D.jpeg Moonstone in a silver ring. I paid only $300 or so for the moonstone, but I had the ring custom made for it. The setting was only $40, and I love the long thick prongs. That huge cabochon, around 6 carats, is really safe, despite the setting in silver.

13 ct Zambian amethyst in a gold setting that I had made for it about 23 yrs ago. The stone was bought before the advent on the internet, from an exotic gem dealer. The stones in the ring channel are African as well. This is a really heavy setting, so no way could I get it now for what I paid back then.

This amethyst has tons of blue and red flashes.

Can’t remember if I’ve shared this yet but this is my pretty sphene ring bought preloved from a lovely lady on Etsy who had it made and never wore it.

It’s set in a Heart of Water lotus setting, which has always been on my wishlist. So really perfect in multiple ways!

This sphene is chartreuse in color and when it catches the light, it’s full of green and orange sparkles. I’m a fan of sphene now!

That is such a super price for the sapphire alone, not to mention the setting! Enjoy!

So many awesome rings, TL! The amethyst has such vivid fascinating color! I remember when the price of gold was low... and can only berate myself for not buying any jewelry.

Wow it’s absolutely beautiful! I just bought my first sphene about two months ago and I am a new fan too! I love the color chartreuse as well! How often do you wear the ring? Can you tell if there is any wear and tear on the stone? Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Hivona! My ring is pretty new so I don’t think I can tell you about how it wears at this time. I do keep it in a ring box by itself instead of with the others in my glass lid ring box because I worry about the glass scratching it. I don’t wear this one around the house doing housework. In any case, it doesn’t look that great indoors, it’s an outdoor ring .

Platinum was was $500/oz and gold around $400/oz. Those were the days.

Thanks everyone for the kind words!!

Hey @Mrs_Strizzle! That's a really nice ring you got there. (Hmm, is that bad grammar?) I love the simple setting. Do you have a profile picture you could share?
