It has been more than a year of wave after wave of trauma and grief hitting our family. We have been left reeling from a sexual assault on one of our daughters, the 2 day trial coming up, 2 major concussions in the family including the 12 year old, 2 major deaths in the family including a close grandparent, work stress, anger management issues. The good news in all of this is our oldest got into nursing! So there is a silver lining but times are very tough financially and I am parting with my most beloved pieces. Hopefully in 1 year I will have better things to post here.
 
Urgh, this is an awful lot to be dealing with.

I'm so sorry, that sounds like a terrible load for you and your family to manage. Here's to brighter days ahead for all of you, and sending particular strength to your daughters for the challenges that lay ahead.
 
Those are horrible traumas individually! I am so sorry to hear you have had to deal with any of that. My heart hurts to hear you have had to go through all of it and in such a short period of time. Please remember we are all here for you. Sending gentle hugs to you and your family.

The great thing in all of this is I stopped pulling 5 days ago! Something shifted when I hit rock bottom. I realizedi don't need to add to the bad things!
 
Oh my goodness, how awful!! I am so sorry for you and your family. Good luck with the upcoming trial, I hope your daughter gets justice and can begin to heal.

Oh, @ilovegemstones, I just hate this for you. There is nothing harder than a long series of traumatic events. It gets to feeling chronic, like things will never resolve, and you will be stuck in it forever.

Starting about 15 years ago and lasting easily for 5-10 years, I went through a very tough time due to a never ending series of bad events and traumatic circumstances. The thing that we don't realize in the midst of it is that we become so beaten down that when yet another trauma or taxing event occurs, we are so depleted that it hits even harder. Like running a marathon, then finding out you have to run another the next day (and then another, and another...) - there is no recovery time, so the "It will get better" comments from friends become hollow platitudes. I just want to say that it is not surprising if you're feeling hopeless or close to it. How can you not when you've been through so many marathons?!!

I'm so, so sorry you are going through this. There is nothing worse than family trauma(s). I send you the biggest hugs and warmest, bravest thoughts. Trials suck, but for you, your daughter and family, I wish the swiftest most just outcome for your daughter.
 
I’m so sorry you are going through so many stressful and awful events. Will be praying for strength for your family to get through it all and grow stronger together in the end. Congrats on your eldest daughter’s career launch in nursing ❤️

Something I do that's maybe a little weird is I make little Limericks and mantras to sing to myself when things are overwhelming as a cope. I had some pretty traumatic childhood periods and I carried it with me.
This was the one that immediately formed while reading, so I started singing it for you. Add to it, it's an activity that creates repetition and order.
Sometimes, it helps.
 
I'm so sorry to hear about what you're going through. I can't imagine your pain. That your are able to see some good I'm it all reveals a lot about your character. Praying for peace, comfort, joy and healing during this time and hopeful with you that next year will hold better times.

Thank you all. @minousbijoux , it is exactly like that. I have almost started laughing ironically when something else bad happens! It is annoying when people say I an having the biggest streak of bad luck of anyone the know lol. A gym friend says that. But everyone has awful stuff they are dealing with... I think I am just in a bit of shock. The pets help a lot. Thank you

@ilovegemstones, I’m so sorry for all your family has gone thru and has to go thru with this upcoming trial. I wish there was something I could do to ease this burden for you, your daughter and your family.
i can’t even imagine trying to deal with the grief of losing a loved one on top of all of this. Any of these things alone would be a lot to deal with. I admire your strength. My heart goes out to you and your daughter.

Your deep love for your daughters has come thru on all of your posts. I’m so glad your daughter has you. Please reach out here if your need support. The trial is going to bring up many emotions.
