Hello,

"Feather" is the term used by GIA to describe 2 types of breaks in diamond: fracture and cleavage.
You can find fractures and cleavage in all gemtones from natural or synthetic origin as it is just a nice name to describe a "crack" without to frighten the possible buyer of the gem...

"Fingerprint" is the term used to describe a fractures that has partially healed. You can find fingerprints in natural and synthetic stones, it is one of the main inclusion in "quench cracked" synthetic rubies that are produced to look like Mong Shu rubies heated with flux additives.
fingerprint in sapphire
fingerprint in "quench cracked" synthetic ruby
fingerprint in Ramaura Flux grown synthetic ruby

All the best,
