Can anyone recommend a good website for FICO scores? I know that you can request a free credit report from the 3 agencies (and will do that too), but i''m curious to know what my FICO score is. It was excellent when I bought my home in 2003, and just want to make sure that it''s still up there!

Whenever I do a google search, a ton of websites pop up with free offers but you have to sign up and pay for a trial session. If that''s what i have to do, then OK. Just thought i''d see if anyone could recommend a good FICO score service/website.

THANKS

I can''t really recommend a specific website, but you shouldn''t have to pay more than $10 tops for your FICO score.

Alternatively, if you are going to be working with a mortgage broker, they should be able to look it up for you for free.

THANKS, AG.

Yep, that's how I got my score last time, through my mortgage broker. We're not quite at that point yet... just thought i'd check it out so that i'm not surprised later (and i shouldn't be, as nothing funky has happened to my credit over the last 6 years)

Are you thinking of buying a house?

Each of the three agencies reports your score a little differently. I've used annualcreditreport.com several times to get my free annual report, and in addition to the report they give you the option to get the score from each agency. I think a triple report was maybe $25? You can also go directly to equifax.com, experian.com, or transunion.com individually to request the scores, and they'll charge a one time fee. Just be sure you're not signing up for some bogus "monitoring" service, but I think that's more an issue with sites like freecreditreport.com.

Hey Selkie:

We''re not in home-buying mode yet!

It''s a great time to buy, but not to sell (we own a townhouse). Although we''d love to upgrade to a home, we first need to figure out what to do with the townhouse. We''re in no rush to do anything right now...

I''m really just curious about my score. I''ll check out annualcreditreport.com. THANKS

DO NOT get your score from anyone but through annualcreditreport.com or Equifax, Transunion or experian. Any other ones are referred to as Fako's because it's a simulation not the actual score. I use creditboards.com for any questions and to improve my credit report (credit forum).

Good luck and also, thank you for your post on att uverse. After your post, I switched to ATT from Time Warner and I'm soooo happy

Big ditto here! We always refer our bankruptcy clients to both sites for post-bankruptcy credit fixes.
