I definitely think she will not show. If she is already starting to give excuses months away, it will be really easy to stick to that when the time comes. I hope this won''t be too hard on your FH.

Katamari, that was my initial thought also, but I''ve kept it to myself, since FI is hoping.

It occurred to me that I should probably share with you the main reason I don''t think well of FI''s daughter. It''s a complicated story and I''m not going to include all the details, but FI''s daughter took quite a serious action against her sister-in-law, involving her brother & sister-in-law''s children. It turned out okay, but her brother (FI''s son) is convinced that it was his mother, not his sister, who took this action (again, I am leaving out details as to why he would think this). He is furious because it was an unsubstantiated accusation. It has caused a major rift between FI''s son and his mother, with some irreparable harm done to their relationship. When FI told his daughter this, and asked her didn''t she want to tell her brother she was responsible, not their mother who was being unfairly blamed, FI''s daughter said no she didn''t care. She refused, for whatever reason, to take responsibility for someone else being unfairly blamed for her very serious action, which as I said has caused a major rift between mother and son.

It is the fact that FI''s daughter KNOWS someone else is being unfairly blamed for an action she is responsible for, and her nonchalance about letting that other person twist in the wind and refusing to set things right, that has given me a very negative view of her.
