Love the oval eternity band! so beautiful.
So happy for you. Congratulations on your 30th anniversary and wonderful husband.
The thought of an eternity ring still kept bubbling up. Would it ever go away? May be something to plan for as a birthday or next year’s anniversary present? I discussed it with DH and we decided to go for it. It is our 30th anniversary after all. OMG. OMG. OMG.
Thanks to all the advice and information from this forum. I discovered David Klass. I truly thank those who posted feedback on his work and shared pictures of his creations (I, for one, think the photos of his jewelry on his Instagram account are not as good as those posted here which helped to seal my decision). I was worried about working with a jeweller long distance and in another country no less! Yet, the process was seamless and effortless. David and Amy were so wonderful to work with and communications were prompt.
It took only 3 weeks from the time I emailed my wish list. I asked for an eternity ring that looks like the diamonds are floating—a tall order that’s for sure. I also asked about U-prongs since I read that they allow for maximum light and sparkles but I hadn’t seen many ovals set in u-prongs. David thought it was a beautiful idea so we went with that. And lastly, it has to be low profile and super comfortable with no prickly prongs otherwise I feared the ring may just sit unworn in the jewelry box.
Well, David not only delivered but also exceeded every expectations and I’m one picky customer. I really lucked out that he was able to source a parcel of D/E/F, VVS1-VS2 GIA certified oval diamonds.
Just before I opened the box for the first time, I tried to tampered down my expectations. I told myself it might not be very sparkly, it might not be very white. Well, I was bubbling with happiness when I opened the box and saw it for the very first time. I couldn’t capture the brilliance and the twinkles with my lack of photo taking skills. But if I have to describe it, the diamonds look like happiness.
Here she is. 5.50 ct of sparkly, glittery loveliness consisting of 18 oval diamonds in platinum setting.
Here’s with the Love ring and my 10th anniversary ring that I wear daily:
Thank you for letting me share. And also thanks to those on the 2 weeks waiting thread that waited along with me. My journey would have felt so much longer without your commiseration and support. Hope you get yours soon. xoxo
This ring is for your 30th anniversary??? I would think it was for your 30th birthday seeing how amazing and youthful your hands look!
Gah! That eternity! You picked the absolute perfect size stones! I love it so much! So simple and dainty yet in your face bling! I loooove the setting you chose! Everything is perfect!
So, since they’re ovals, I would think they are more comfortable as an eternity than a more deep stone but what do you think? Comfy?
Wowowowwo!!! Congrats on 30!!!
Beautifully executed!! Enjoy!
HI:
Beautiful ring! Happy Anni!!
cheers--Sharon
Congratulations on your milestone 30th anniversary.
Your new oval eternity is absolutely breath taking. You must be over the moon to have this gorgeous ring in your collection. All of your rings are beautiful and are stand outs. I really adore your new DK eternity band. It truly is 5 1/2 carats of sparkling goodness. Wear it in good health and with much happiness. Such beauty must put a smile on your face every time that you look at it.
Thanks very much, @Spring Day! You’re too kind. How I wish I’m still 30 (I’ll even take 40)! DKJ did such a great job. I can’t wait to see how beautiful yours will turn out.
DK was able to set the stones really low and the prongs are as slim as possible while keeping the diamonds secured. The edges are all smooth making it feels like one smooth band. I don’t have gaps between my fingers so it was super important that the ring is comfortable or I’ll be fidgeting with it all day. I chatted with David and Amy several times and sent them pics. They sent me the plastic model which I wore for a few days just to make sure. The actual ring is even more comfy IRL. I did ask DK about larger stones but he said it’ll be too deep and will make the ring thicker and less comfortable so I opted to keep it as is.
Working on my laptop has never been so pleasurable.
YAY! So glad you're enjoying it! Now to get an eternity in every shape! Congratulations on your 30th!
That’s a great plan!
Go tell your husband! I’ll wait
Congratulations on your anniversary. Wishing you many more to come. That's a beautiful ring. So much sparkle... everyone can see you waving from miles away!
Beautiful! So elegant and sophisticated. Love it!
Enjoy!
Many thanks, @RunningwithScissors! I think in a way it’s great that DKJ ring turns out so beautifully and then in a way it’s not so great because I’m trying to dream up other projects.
