Flower Gurus Needed! What Kind Of Bouquet To Go With My Dress? (And BMs also?)

Okay so... one of my good friends is getting married in October and her colors are shades of pinks. So I have a ton of pics for pink bouquets. I''m going to post them all. Then the last thing I post is going to be what *I* would do, personally.

So here''s the first pic:

I adore this bouquet. Pink Stephanie Roses, Lilly of the Valley (which you can have because of when you are getting married), freesia, and white peonies.

Gorgeous, perfect for you season. Lots of texture, but luxuriously bridal.

Pink Stephanie Roses, pale pink snap dragons, you can put sweetpeas in here, stephanotis, pink wax flower (tiny darker pink accents), and green hypericum berries, with gorgeous pale pink (or you could do white for contrast) peonies.

This one has some beautiful french tulips, some mini callas, and orchids. Lots of texture.

This one is primarily a winter bouquet (I forget what the spikey flowers are called by they are winter flowers). But can be adapted for spring. It''s a BM bouquet, but could easily be beefed up for a bride. It''s a little more fragile and ... wildflower-ey to me.

Pretty in Pink.

This one... without the fuchsia (I'd soften the fushia) is modern but also very classic. A little like your dress.

... (the bow has got to go) David Austin Roses.

Extremely lux, but also artsy. Very cool.

Don''t think this one is for you... but wanted to post it anyway. It''s really neat.

I actually love this design. And all the flowers can be done in the shades of pink and white that you would need.

Okay so what would I do?

I would do this bouquet... I ADORE lily of the Valley, and Peonies, and those roses. SO beautiful. Since your dress is pale pink, bringing the white in provides some contrast.

But... I would add whimsy and bring in that lovely brooch on your dress... like this (only more integrated into the flowers, instead of sitting on top of them) :

Bouquet Jewels roses.JPG

Basically I'd get some jeweled hair pins like these and have your florist wire them right into your bouquet at regular intervals. I would do a mix of two sizes of pins and intersperse them in between the flowers. Taking a classic bouquet and making it yours.

AND/ OR.... I would probably consider a wrap like this one... with a Brooch as well.

This bouquet (with the rhinestone pins added in) would be my second choice with your gown. Also because it has white. It would look amazing with some rhinestone flower pins interspersed in it.

Ooooh Gypsy thank you so much! So many gorgeous choices! WOW! I do love the one with the rhinestone things on it...but I also LOVE the one with the green in it that you said would be your second choice!

I''m not sure how more color would look with my dress, though. What do you think? And what do you think the bridesmaids should carry? More mixed colors to break up all the paleness?

Thank you again for taking the time to post all those!

These two with the plae pink and white that Gypsy just posted are exactly what I had in mind!

I see a handle, is that a rose purse? Gypsy, do you have any pictures with a bouquet with one brooch in it? Not on the stem wrap, but in the flowers?

Also, I had this picture saved in my wedding folder so you could see how a little bling throughout would look.

I also love this one a LOT, as well as the one below! Wow, too many good choices!

I'd probably have the BMs carry a smaller version of yours... but with a only shades of pink (no white). No rhinestones for them. I'd keep yours the only bouquet with white and with rhinestones.

The one with the green berries is lovely. And I think it would look just beautiful. And I would add rhinestones in there as well.

The one with the fuchsia, the modern one is by one of my favorite all time floral designers. Here's her website.http://www.philippatarrant.com/ I'd browse this one if I were you, for ideas.

Honey... here's where I got the purse:

Thing, alternately, since your dress is pink. I adore lily of the valley with Peonies. You could do a mostly white bouquet with a slight pink accent added in, like this one.

Here's another Pink bouquet I had on my hard drive, I'm not a fan of pink hydrangeas collared like that, so I didn't post it originally.

Wow, this one is just gorgeous!

Isn't it? And with the Tulips and the lily of valley, the only time it's even remotely affordable is RIGHT around when Thing2 is getting married (although the lily of the valley would be just going out of season, it's more a spring flower, still you can get it in). LOL. It's a sophisticated spring/ summer bouquet. And gorgeous with it.

I would NOT use the lily of the valley ANYWHERE other than in your bouquet. It's extremely expensive stuff. But SO worth it.

OMG this is GORGEOUS Gypsy! Wow, seriously amazing! I love it! I have no idea how I''m going to choose between all these gorgeous bouquets. I am torn between white like this and one with more color. White was what I originally had in mind but then all the pretty pastels tempt me, too. But I could have my BMs do pretty pastels so I could get my fix there. I''m leaning towards white with a touch of pink after seeing this one.

You are so good to me to post all these...I really appreciate it!

I hope you do go this route, because it would be my TRUE first choice (but you said you wanted color originally, so I didn''t post it). It''s just stunning.

As for the effort. Was a joy for me. Seriously. My only regret about my wedding is that I had to pick ONE bouquet. If I could have I would have done like 5 and switched them out. I adore helping with flowers. And you are a good friend honey, so no thanks necessary, although of course it''s more than appreciated.

Just make sure to get your photographer gets a couple of good pics of whatever you decide on so I can add it to my flower files.

I can''t WAIT to see what you decide.

I seriously gasped when I saw the one with lily of the valley...I think that means I should go with that! I''m thinking white is the way to go for my dress even though I do love color. I just keep looking at that one and I LOVE IT. My BMs can have color to break up all the paleness!

I will make sure my photographer gets lots of good shots for you! (Did I show you him yet? His name is Ken Luallen and he is so good!) If you feel like looking...

And I think you should have had flower wardrobe changes, personally!
3.gif
I can''t wait to see all the photos from your wedding...I saw in your Who''s Who that you will have them soon!

Oh! And I was talking to my mom on the phone about the flowers and she thinks my cousin could definitely do this type of bouquet (with the stems at the bottom vs. one of those bouquets that looks like a ball) so I''m going to send her photos and see if she is up to it. She''s actually planting a cut garden for my wedding so I need to tell her all the flowers I like before she does it. Plus that way I would just have to buy bouts and corsages which would be awesome!

If you gasped. It''s the right one. I''ve gasped at many, but the one I ultimately chose was the one I kept coming back to, that in my mind, I started planning things around and that I could actually visualize carrying. For me, my wedding planning started with the flowers. Whenever we looked at dates or venues, I would think of which flowers worked with it. But I''m weird.

I LOVE your photographer! Great choice, seriously. So much emotion and interesting angles and shots. I looked through some of the slideshows and you could totally see the emotions and the story progress. I was wonderful!

I''m so excited for you!!!

Gasp!! Photoshopped:
ETA: I photoshopped the wrong one! There are too many gorgeous bouques here....
I like the peonies and lily of the valley, too. And if it made you gasp, it IS the one!

I love this combination! It looks so fresh and delicate!

Ooh, thank you Lynnie! That one is similar enough to get the idea! I LOVE IT!

And I''m glad you like it too, Honey! I think I have a winner!
