I am so bad at that fragrances but I am looking for some help
I love the smell of this candle
https://boysmells.com/products/gardener

Does anyone have any idea ?

I am also looking for a more elevated fragrance similar to fresh cream warm cashmere.

The best thing I could find was By The Fireplace but again I’m open to suggestions.

If someone has any ideas for EITHER of those scents please let me know.

Thanks for your help all!

You probably won't find an exact copy. Candle scents really don't reinterpret well to a perfume (even within the same house!)

Only thing I can think of is Ades de Venustas first scent. Its quite pricey but I do really like this one. Do sample it before you commit!

of the Philosophy one.... Serge Lutens Un bois vanille. Its got many of the same notes but its a definitely elevated Vanilla perfume. The difference is the anise note (or licorice) Its definitely there so you'd have to know if thats something you really like.

The discovery set is currently out but its a way to try out the fragrances before committing

Thanks for replying. I am certain an anise smell is not for me. But that first one looks very promising!

You know what’s funny is I got a sample and while it smells good it’s just giving “genetic” and I don’t love it.
It came with two other samples that I like though so I mean we’re having some success.

I did fall in love with Tobacco Vanille tho- do at least I have my winter smell down. still searching for a more summer one. So far the front runner is Minted.
I did like “16a orchid” that they sent me too though. Again though it’s giving “generic perfume”

Hi @Niel -

I love perfumes of all kinds, so, when I saw your thread, went and bought a small bottle of 'By The Fireplace'.

Initially all I'm getting from it is pepper. After that, clove oil and then a cloying level of vanilla. So, basically, not a fan.

I think, if you want to go for the very spicy, warm scents, I'd be looking for one that has something to lift it; By The Fireplace seems headache inducing to me.

Have you smelt Cashmere by Donna Karan? It's very woody and slightly spicy, but has Moroccan jasmine and lily in place of the vanilla, which makes it a cleaner, softer smell, and rather less heavy. It has plenty of amber and sandalwood, and bergamot in place of BTF's OCEAN of pepper - so it's definitely a warm, earthy perfume, but it's rather less in your face than BTF (which I'm actually wearing as I type, and which is drying down to....more pepper, clove and vanilla. Well, at least it's true to itself.)

For what it's worth, Cashmere is definitely a more elevated perfume and worth a sniff. :))

ETA. 15 minutes later and the vanilla is giving way to notes of brown sugar. This perfume seriously reminds me of the smell I get when I open my pantry!

Yeah I didn’t love “by the fireplace “ too
Everyone loves it but it didn’t do it for me
I’ll see if I can get a sample of that- but as it sits they Tobacco Vanille is giving what i was hoping

Tom Ford has emerged as a major player in the perfume world, and his scents are lovely. I occasionally wear his Neroli Portofino Acqua. A quite stunning summer perfume. I don't think you can go wrong with Tobacco Vanilla - especially if you want a non-feminine, very androgynous scent.

I don’t aim for androgyny- but apparently I’m not a fan of overly feminine. So I guess, maybe I do? Lol

I also did get myself an full bottle of Minted- though I don’t plan on wearing it in the colder months

I that case - I do think you'd enjoy Cashmere. Either way, I'll be interested to hear where you land.

I second Cashmere. I don't own it but have visited it several times at perfume counters and have it on my list.
