Just ordered some rose quartz 8mm, 10mm & 12mm beads
Probably going to take ages to get here from Texas
fingers crossed this is it for the graduated round jet beads and they lool every bit as pretty as that fake larmair

the silver fascated beads were at the front door when i got home today
i must say i really like them
but they kinda look at bit small
sigh
ill have a propper look with the jet after tea (dinner)
im feeling pretty over it

When the NZ$$$ stabilizes i definatly want to track down those clasps
they arnt exspensive and would not need to be insured, just posted
as NZ opens up and we get more flight coning in the mail will get more reliable again

these silver beads (from the same supplier in China) are much nicer than the smaller ones
more nicelly finished

ill have to dig around for the clasps
they are pretty simple, just silver with a semi precious gem but were a nice price and recommended by a PSer - i can't remenber which one

First, I think using 6mm sterling spacer beads with 8mm gemstone beads would work great! I typically use smaller spacer beads than my gem beads... I like the interest the different sizes gives the piece. But I also love hematite! It's naturally a sort of metallic dark gray (gunmetal) color. So if it's bright silver or gold, etc., it's likely been coated. Cool fun fact... because it's an oxide and contains mostly iron, its streak is red.

ive only seen uncoated so maybe i get those, not silver
they are just to go at the back by the clasp to enlongate the necklace as im planing on a jet pendent in the front and that will be busy enough ....

...i do have a history of making things too busy

You can do anything you please, my friend! You're the artist... that's what I love about beading. So maybe something like this? A brushed or ribbed finish might look nice too.

this thing keeps ticking over in my mind when i go to bed
i like to think the subconscious mind is working on an aesthetically pleasing solution when im in the land of Zzzzzzzzz

so im rethinking the Celtic inspired pendent on the fascated one
ive definatly desided to ditch the extender beads and go for paperclip chain
so playing off the paperclip vibe i saw this York rose in Jet

so ive thrown the budget out the window because if this doesn't look as envisioned i can see myself wearing these pieces

i value your opinion and your wise council
i guess im now brave enough to mention i have an aditional something it mind to just underline my original idea of not wanting jet as mourning jewlery
so im hoping it will work with a little twist of colour, to hang off the centre rose pendent

of course i like the amethyst one but thats out because it would take us back to mourning jewkery
i want a little bird or dragonfly
but i don't want whimsical, or cute or sweet - that's not me

i just want a wee bit of life in my necklace

i like the kingfisher - because right now we have one that visits our garden
and also i like the tourquise colour and the amber

but would an earing be eaiser to adapt over a bail ?

Yeah, the listing states under "materials" that it is glass, but "jet" everywhere else in the description. Still very misleading.

Honestly, my friend, I really prefer the jet with the rose quartz (which looks great)!! Pink and black has always been a favorite color combo for me... especially a baby pink. I have the same exact Beadlon board, BTW.

somewhere i have a pink transformers tee shirt i keep for pink ribbon day and we have one only neon pink king sized sheet - it is a really high thread count - i got it in a sale but there was one only so i pair it with a bright orange sheet that saddly doesn't feel nearly as nice (neon purple pillowcases and then we used to have a neon green blanket - the whole ensemble was like a pack of highlighters )

i had to google voltron -perhaps a good exchange on Portman Pat

im a couple of years too old for the transformers cartoon - but my sister loved Jem and Jem was on after Transformers
but that first transformers movie blew both mine and Gary's minds
my favourite was Ironhide the ute (pickup)
my favourite piece of the movie is where Optimus Prime and the Autoboots are driving toward the Hoover dam in convoy on the highway - (we are a GM family)
