After finally buying the stone and setting this week, now i'm starting to worry about the setting design. I thought I'd post the question to see what pricescopers thought.

The setting is a Gabriel & Co. setting in the link below. It looks wonderful on that diamond however I bought a princess cut and after some board reading I am worried the setting is not good for princess cut diamonds. the stone is 1.5ct if that makes a difference.

I've dropped GOG an email but I don't think they are in till Tuesday.

edit: also, do you think the setting is too high? i can't really tell.

I love that setting! I would assume it would have a head that will cover the corners of the stone to protect them since it is a princess. But there''s no reason that setting wouldn''t be fine for a princess. You can specify if you want a head that makes the stone sit low, medium, or high, more than likely. Or it may just come one way. Tell them you want to know what style head the ring has for a princess.

that helps relieve me alittle. i know i''m spazzing about every little thing! lol i never thought about it would have a different heads for princess. Looking at all the posts on GOG work i''m sure it''ll be fine.

I have seen that type of setting, in person, with a HUGE princess cut diamond in it, and it looked fabulous! I'm sure they will use a head that is specifically designed for a square stone, that will cover the corners properly and hold the stone in place. I think it will look great! As far as the height issue... The stone has to be high enough to accommodate the depth, (does that make sense?)so depending on the stone you bought, you may be able to go a bit lower. I don't think it looks "too" high, although that is a personal opinion.
