How did the cohabitation ceremony go?

It was really fast.

The judge just asked the stuff that''s part of the legal marriage contract "forsaking all others", "sickness and health" bits which we responded with "I do" and we admitted to one another that we got a little misty eyed anyway despite our best intentions.

Then I asked if I still get to kiss him, and the judge laughed and said yes. We had leftover Chinese from last night to celebrate.

Actually, it was just what we had in the fridge.

I''m not sure if we''ll celebrate or not, because we''re trying to keep it low-key and not spoil the novelty of our actual wedding, but it''s hard when you''re in love and stuff. Y''know.

We don''t have much of a budget, so it can''t be fancy. But I''m just happy to be with my guy.

While we were waiting for the judge''s office clerks to finish up the last details on the license so we could take it off to the County Clerk, my guy had this totally baffled look and said "Oh crap, what am I supposed to call you now? We''re legally married but I haven''t even proposed!" Hehe.

I had to change my outfit at the last minute because my dress was a wee bit more cleavage-y than when I first tried it on months ago

oh well. Maybe I''ll wear it out tonight

Aww, that is so sweet (the misty-eyed part--sorry, I''m a sap), and I happen to think leftover Chinese is the best way to celebrate anything. Congrats again on getting this far.

So how are you adjusting to the move and being in his city? I''m a bit nervous, I''ll be doing the same thing in 2 months! (Though admittedly, it''s much less of a change for me since SO''s only 3 hrs away)

I am adjusting pretty well so far; I am nesting! It''s easy to do so because he''s been building a cozy little nest for two, all that was missing was me.

I am a little nervous to meet his friends but so relieved to be back together. When you''ve chosen someone to be your life partner it feels awkward and wrong to live your life without them.

As for the move, it was horrible due to some wonky circumstances (fuse blown, can''t pack in the dark, movers due in 10 hours) and it''s not over yet as my stuff hasn''t arrived from Canada yet, but otherwise, I like the weather here although we agree it''s not a place we''d want to permanently settle. For a few years, though, it''s just fine.
