My wife and I went into Gemfix the other day. I didn't know what to expect, I had never been into a gem store. It sure makes it a lot easer on my wife to choose her favorites when can see several stones at one time (hundreds). The guy in the store, I assume it was Andrew, was very nice, helpful and patient. The wish list got a lot longer that day and I have a new project to work on now.

I didn't know he had a storefront. Very good to know.

Andrew and his wife, Laura, have a storefront in San Diego's 'jewelry district.' There are two jewelers in the building that Andrew has used and feels confident recommending to clients.

Andrew is an extremely nice man and he is very patient when showing stones. I've also found that he discloses the facts about this stones and if you ask him, will help you choose the 'best' of what you can afford. He has given me the best prices of anyone I've bought loose stones from.

When you're there, see his gem intrusion stones and jewelry. He has won many awards for these and is justifiably proud of them.

Good to know! Next time we go to Legoland in San Diego, I shall try to stop by his store... Good landmark, and more reasons to go to San Diego! Thank you.

I've been eyeing some of his new gems on his website, my favourite two, the red round spinel, and the peachy pink tourmaline (concave cut) were already sold. Hope a Pser got them so I can see lots of photos.

His gem intrusion work is amazing.

If anyone every goes, I'd totally be in for a SoCalCoGe meet up...

Wow, that must have been super fun!!! I hope to visit one day :naughty:
