I need to get my ring back to whiteflash for some clean up but I have not gotten insurance yet. Should I purchase insurance before sending it out, which would mean I would have to first get it appraised... Would I need to get the additional insurance from the delivery service I'd be using, not sure if it would be fed ex or UPS.
any one can share their experiences?
thanks

You'll just need shipping insurance, I reckon. If you have a receipt for the stone/ring then I would hope that would be sufficient to prove value in a worst case, ring-gets-lost scenario!

Fedex only covers up to $1k IIRC so you will need to purchase additional insurance on top, assuming the ring is worth more than that. I can't remember who provides such insurance now but I think Wink or any other of the vendors may be able to advise! (Perhaps ask WhiteFlash?)

Don't forget - when it is packed up and ready to go, don't put 'Diamond Ring' on the description, put something like "carbon with Pt securing equipment". ;)

Also, don't forget to check that it will be insured by WF while at WF, and whether they have insurance on the ring while it is being posted back to you.

Send it USPS, Registered, Insured for full value.
Slow, but it gets there.
