My boyfriend needs a new wallet but he HAS to have a skinny one with a Money Clip so I just ordered him this Michael Kors leahter one (in brown and Khaki, top left) for $29 and $1 shipping. Not bad for Michael Kors! This will go in his stocking nicely!

Cali- Should I just use your name or no? Anyway, I would DIE if we had a game room. Because of his job, it's sports all weekend long. I could ax-murder him sometimes. Even more humiliating, I sit with the kid's moms, and they all give me the, "SO when is Paul going to hurry and propose?" Like I know anything about it!! I'm thinking of just loading up on game things. He LOVES those SIMS games. He even created a little family of us. Kinda cute.

I really think he'd like the tabletop football- probably bring it to the school he teaches at, and get in trouble.

We don't have internet at our house (I KNOW!!), because we weren't sure where to put the computer (right now it's literally in the closet), but last night I brought up maybe getting that for x-mas, with the games and everything, too. What do you think? He LOVES the computer.

And Angel, my BF has to have a money clip, too. I got him a fossil one last year, and he loves it.

My fiance loves his XM! they have lots of specials on the recievers too- like buy one get one free.

i''m stumped on my fiance as well. i know we are going to keep the gifts light because we just got back from our trip to vegas.
but i''m hit times 3 by him. b-day, xmas and our dating anniversary.

I can so relate! I have bday and xmas for my guy too!
It''s too much I tell you! I can''t think of that many gifts!

Angel, Me too! Our anniversary is 11/1, my b-day is 11/5, then his b-day is 2/10 and Valentine''s day is 2/14!! He''s the one getting slammed, though. Poor guy. No wonder it takes forever to save!!

My SO''s birthday is on December 8th, so I have this problem too. Luckily for me, last August I got him a watch that is pretty expensive for my poor student''s budget, so I told him he was covered for his birthday and Christmas as well. He''s okay with that. I got him a nice birthday card and I might make him a card for Christmas. I''ll be starting to save for his engagement present since he''s proposing in 2006! Yay! (no, I still haven''t haven''t gotten over it... I get all giddy and giggly every time I think about it!

oh crap!! engagement present?? i hadn''t thought about that!!! i better get shopping and add that another event to the gift-buying list!

any engagement gift ideas out there for guys???

Not original at all but, what about cufflinks? Tons of different kinds out there..

that was my first gift to him last xmas. i thought it was fitting because we met at a wedding (him in a tux)...he was the bestman and i the maid of honor.

any other ideas??

Amberwaves- feel free to use my name, I feel like I know you all anyway! I think setting the computer up would be a good thing- since you already have the computer you could get a nice desk to go with (which depending on budget you could go IKEA, DIY from Target, or Ebay, or something more upscale)- love the idea of games and my fella is obsessed with these speakers he got for the computer!

Jcrow- are you getting engagement photos done? How about a lovely waterford frame? That is nice and something you two can display?

Here''s a fun side thought... so have any of you thought of posing for one of those beaudoix (sp?) photos for your man?

THERE''S an original present!

Tracey, my BF Paul saw that boudoir picture idea on the simpsons and just laughed and laughed when I said I''d try that. Which I wouldn''t. I mean, I''m not in High school anymore...

It''s too bad though, because where on Earth would you put something like that? The kitchen, bathroom, living room, game room? Not a good idea if you have friends who come over.. Or his family!! I''d love to do it, though. Shock the bejezus out of him. He''d be mad about who took the pictures! How about some engagement sunglasses? Last night Paul said, well, do I get a 10,000.00 ring, too? How come only you do?

i know if feel selfish that he doesn''t get something in the amount spent on my ring. i keep calling it our diamond, our ring- as if that makes it all better. hum. sunglasses. i like. he just broke his. he''d have to pick them out.

i also thought of a burberry tie. something he can keep and he wouldn''t buy himself.

I love sunglasses, my BF loses his all the time. SO he has a steady supply of them.

I wish Paul wore ties. I LOVE ties. I guess all his years of Catholic education really killed the tie wearer in him. Now he wears a baseball hat and a whistle to work!!

That is hilarious!!! I should start that. Instead of his, "Amber''s Poorhouse Ring" Hm. Somehow, just doesn''t have the same ring ( no pun intended) to it. I tired to tell him that it''s an investment. He just gives me a look and says, "When are you planning on selling it?" I told him I hope to upgrade in a decade, and he actually agreed with it!!

Upgrade a is good call! I''ve been emphasizing to Kevin for months that a solataire is the way to go... it helps I''ve had 2 guy friends who 1. proposed last weekend and the second just got his ring in the diamond district- so since I helped those guys pick out rings I natually told him how I pushed them into buying solataires since they didn''t have the cash to do full carat AND lots of bling on the ring!

My FI and I started ring shopping a month-ish before Christmas last year, so I got him his own piece of bling- the 2004 Swarovski ornament (slight joke but pretty!). We both get each other a new ornament each Christmas, which is fun. So this year I got him the 2005 Swarovski too... and we don''t even have a Christmas tree! Oh well, someday we''ll have a nice sparkly one.

I am also working on his cashmere collection, so I got him a sweater. New shoes and jeans, which he needs. An old fashioned board game, b/c he really likes to play games like that. I''m also doing some poster size pics blown up to 16x20 that should be cute. That''s all I can think of at the moment.

Last year- did the poker chips (he loves them!)

For sunglasses you could get him a certificate for Maui Jims or another nice company. I love my Maui Jim''s I can see well in the air and if I sit on them they dont break.

Traecy, you lucky dog! Doing the Diamond District!!! We live so close, and I still haven''t gone yet! Damn! Sometimes I get a little greedy when I see other sparklies on here, with the ice all around. But ya know what? I''ve always pictured a solitaire as "IT". and he''ll be able to afford a bigger stone, since he doesn''t have to worry about the other side stones.

Mata- So funny you should say that about sitting on them. My boyfriend is a big guy, and glasses do not last too long in his possesion. He either sits on them, or has his glasses in his pockets, and crouches down for something and - crack. I should get him a lifetime supply.

what do you think of these? i was thinking to get one for his egagement gift.

Jcrow, I love Burberry plaid, but I must say I really like the striped one.

i like the stripped one too. but if i get burberry, i want it to look like it. ya know?

JCrow, I know exactly what you mean, get your money''s worth but not have the words printed all over it. [$$)]

update. i got the tie pictured on the left. hope he likes it.

Good choice JCrow. He''ll love it!

FYI ladies, if your man is into college football, which mine is- the 2005 COLLEGE FOOTBALL ENCYCLOPEDIA just came out. It is hard back and about $50, but guaranteed to provide hours of football facts and fun.

I am also splurging on new sunglasses for the man and a new outfit. This along with stocking stuffers, cd''s and as many shortbread sugar cookies he can stand should make for a happy Christmas. :)
