My husband was calm and yet a little nervous. His eyes were "wet". After all... he was about to ask one of THE biggest questions of his life. Just 30 min before he popped the question, he went for a walk and had a little "chat" with the big Guy up there... Well... obviously no lightening struck down from above. So it was all good...

My FI *says* that he wasn''t that nervous, but he was definitely acting strangely.
We were walking along the lake and he kept saying these wierd out-of-character things. Then he kept trying to wander off by himself, like he was trying to get away from me.

I suspected that he was planning to propose, but I couldn''t figure out why he was acting so strangely.

We almost got all the way back to the car, and then he just stopped and started milling around. I was afraid that he was going to chicken out, and I almost said something. Then, finally, he said "Hey! look over there!" And pointed behind me. I turned to look, and there was nothing. Then I turned back around and he was on one knee.

I guess he thought that he had to somehow get down on one knee without me seeing or something. And he couldn''t figure out any way other than the old "hey! look over there!" trick.

Anyways, he says that he was MUCH more nervous about calling my dad to ask for his blessing, which I hadn''t even expected him to do.

I actually, was nervous that I wouldn''t cry when he proposed. I thought that it would seem unsentimental of me if I didn''t cry. All that worrying was for nought though, I started bawling the moment he said those words.
