Good Things Come to Those Who Wait! (2.60 Antique Cushion)

Re: Good Things Come to Those Who Wait! (2.60 Antique Cushio

Congratulations on your Aurora beauty, and on 25 years of marriage. We married young also, and I have always been thankful about that too. We started with absolutely nothing, ( I really do mean nothing!) and grew up together. Aurora is quite a beauty and definitely worth the wait! I think you are a saint for waiting. I think I would have made a trip to the bank at least once a day to try her on again. What a sweet way to give her too you though.Sweet hubby! Thanks for sharing your story, I can't wait to see more pictures!

Thanks everyone!

We started with absolutely nothing, as well. We both came from poor families (no exaggeration, at various points in our childhoods we were the recipients of subsidized housing, AFDC, food stamps, free lunch programs, etc.). No trust funds, no college funds, not even parents who could help when tuition and car registration were due the same month. My grandfather gave us $1K for the wedding and we did the whole wedding with it - dress, food, rentals, etc. My other grandparents did the flowers. Our first apartment was furnished from family cast-offs and yard sales. My dad told me that getting married meant I was an adult and that we'd have to make it financially on our own, and we did.

And growing up together, truly becoming adults by action and not age, I think it made us strong.
