...what you really need after reading that stinker though, is a good stiff drink...

Frankly, I think you deserve both.

Quite a read, huh?
MMM!! Yummy! Thanks!

And yeah, it was quite a read. I have it saved off now for my "personal stash".

LOL Ellen,

I have always loved David Letterman

That article is really just an indication of what kind of man is writing it! If you want to write and article on your personal beliefs, have the decency to act in a adult manor. That article sounds more like my grandmother venting to me on the phone rather than a published piece of work written by someone intelligent.

It is a comic video for Pete''s sake on David Letterman.

And away we go

I'd say it's more of an indication of the kind of man it was written about.

And I don't find it a "childish" piece, just brutally honest. But to each his own.

Gosh, you''re just full of intelligent things to say yourself!

P.S. It''s "manner," not "manor."

Good lord, stop the presses. There's a responsible grownup in the Whitehouse!

Leading, and by example.

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama's first public act in office Wednesday was to institute new limits on lobbyists in his White House and to freeze the salaries of high-paid aides, in a nod to the country's economic turmoil.

This is rubbish.
Is it?

I was going to do a post with lots of links to back up the letter, but it would have taken so long, only to most likely be ignored. But there is definitely substance to this letter, even if some can''t, or won''t see it. If anyone cares to, just start searching. Try ''Bush lies about 9-11'', that''s an eyepopping result. And that alone would be enough to make people hate this president, forget everything else he has done. He did lie. He lied about why he started it, he lied about the intelligence that led up to it, and he has continued to lie, to all of us. All the while, thousands of people, innocent people, including our own, have been killed and maimed. You don''t have to take my word for it, just do a search through the mountain of info. It''s there, and in his own words, and that of his team.

Do a search for ''jersey girls'', some of the widows from 9-11 that pushed for the commision. (and why is that, that the gov. had to literally be pushed into an investigation about why that happened on our soil and killed three thousand people?) See the multitude of questions they still have, that the 9-11 commission never answered, because the 9-11 commission was a joke. Only it wasn''t so funny. In fact, it wasn''t funny at all, and there are many calling for a REAL investigation when Bush leaves. I for one, would welcome that, maybe we could finally get to the truth.

And ask yourself, just why did we go to war with Iraq over Saddam Hussein, when we all believed 9-11 was at the hands of Osama bin Laden, who was most likely NOT in Iraq? Because the president and Cheney had it in for the guy from the beginning, they just needed a reason to go after him. So they made one up. The evidence is there, in plain view, if you will see it. Even our president elect called it right at the time, saying it was a dumb war, though I''d call it something stronger (and did at the time). Maybe he would too, in private.

In Bob Woodward''s new book on the lead up to the war, Plan of Attack, which includes much of the Presidents own words to Woodward, Bush asked Woodward ''why the search for weapons of mass destruction had to be included. What did that have to do with it?'' WHAT?? But actually, now that you mention it, that''s a very good question Mr. President. What exactly DID that have to do with it? Nothing.

There''s a video on youtube that shows Rumsfeld, Cheney (who wrote his own set of laws, which are now being rolled back because they were plain unconstitutional, do a search) , Bush, Rice, and Powell (who I believe fell for all this, and it has been written he was basically shut out of things) being caught in their own contradictory statements on the premise of this war, among other things. I won''t link it because it has too much profanity in it, but if you go to youtube and search ''Bush lies'', many videos will come up. There are a few versions of this, but one to look for is titled US War Criminals -The Bush Lies Montage, by kynandog. Then do a regular search on ''Guantonamo mistreatment''. And read the links I posted earlier, if you haven''t.

This war was wrong, and anybody that told this president anything to the contrary was dismissed. Take Obama''s new secretary of the Veteran''s Affair''s, Gen. Eric Shinseki. He told Rumsfeld back in Feb. 2003 that it might take several hundred thousand US troops to control Iraq after the invasion. Rumsfeld belittled that remark as ''wildly off the mark'', and he was fired a few months later. They dismissed it, because it wasn''t what they wanted to hear (the truth), it wasn''t what we would want to hear. Only, Shinseki was right after all...

This war, and everything it has stood for, is wrong. If people don''t understand that, if they truly can''t see that, I''m sorry. I am so tired of the criticism our new president has received, while not even in office yet, when the sitting president has been so dangerous, and has done more to destroy this country and our standing in the world than anyone EVER could have imagined. It''s not about Obama either. ANY man coming into this office, who could speak intelligently, who appreciated intelligence, who could see what''s gone so wrong and genuinely wanted to fix it, who could listen to those around him and be man enough to change his position because he may be wrong about it, because he actually cared about the decisions he made and the affect they would have on us, the people who voted him in, would be welcomed with open arms.

I really haven''t said much about Bush, until now. This wasn''t meant as a ''hatefest'', it was meant to be just what it is, a detailed goodbye. A truthful goodbye. A welcomed goodbye. Yes, the tone is harsh. But when a man takes the highest office in the land, puts his hand on the bible and states ''I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States'', and then turns around and makes a mockery of that very constitution, he deserves what he gets. And he deserves this letter. I frankly find it puzzling that people would excuse/defend the behavior of this president. It''s hard to believe all he has gotten away with, and Bill Clinton got impeached for an indiscretion....
Someone find me a bowing emotie. Pronto.

Well thought out, and well spoken.

Thanks gecko.
