I had posted a few weeks ago about a few family stones I''ve inherited: a blue topaz ring and a ruby ring. I recall my grandmother''s explanation of the ruby involving a laser (thought I can''t find her written description anywhere... even after tearing my bedroom apart looking for it

), so we -- meaning the PS experts -- determined that it is likely just synthetic and of no real monetary value. I loved this ring when I was younger, even though it was too big to wear... then put it away for years and forgot about it. But I''m thinking now it would be fun to reset in white gold and actually start wearing.

Anyway, just thought I''d share some pix!

Wow, Ephem! That''s huge! Definitely a fun one to wear.

Wow, eph....that''s great! Be sure to post it in the "show me your family heirloom" thread.

These old family pieces are SO special....

Thanks, guys... I know it was meaningful to my grandmother, so it was fun to stumble upon it again after all these years!! I just wish I could find the little notecard she wrote up about it... it would have been nice to know more about the background of the ring.
