I''m glad you''re going to get to go spend the night with your grandpa tonight. Maybe you''re just the tonic he needs to come out of this. Again, good thoughts and prayers outgoing for you both. {HUGS}

Grampa''s are the best. Just wanted to stop in and help unload the truckload of fairy dust that Blue Jeans backed in for ya. He has lots of prayer power behind him and we''re all thinking healing thoughts towards his recovery.

prayers continue

Aw, your grandfather is in my prayers.

How is your grandpa doing? Continued prayers for you.

Lots more fairy dust and prayers coming for your grandpa. How is he today???

Love, Linda

I''m sending more healing vibes your dear grandpa''s way and (((HUGS))) to you, Layla. Some grandpas are just so precious and he sounds like one of those. I was blessed with one too.

I''m also sorry to hear about the risk involved in your mom''s surgery. That''s a tough call. I hope she''s not in too much pain as these options are being discussed.

I''m sure it''s a relief to your family that you and John are living closeby.

Take care of yourself too, sweetie.

Just checking in to see if there has been any change I hope he feels better soon :).

Either way still sending hugs, dust and prayers your way.

Wondering how he is Gypsy.

Hello all! Look at the replies! You all humble me. Thank you all, my friends.

I spent the night with grandpa. When I got there last night it was difficult to see him disoriented and slurring his speech. He''s always been the smartest sharpest, most intelligent man I''ve known. I was worried about a stroke, and they told me they had been doing daily ekg''s and blood tests and other tests and there were no indicators. He was that way for much of the night, but he recognized me with absolute immediacy so it wasn''t that hard to take care of him. This morning at 8:00 he was alert though, knew where he was, was interacting with the nurse, even asked what his blood oxygen levels were himself and had a can of Ensure with only a little haggling on my part. His speech was still a bit slurred, but not when he was speaking english, just farsi for some reason. It could be all the medication. They did more tests today. Hopefully, please God, he hasn''t had a stroke.

They told me he''s responding to the antibiotics and his lungs sound better. He wasn''t coughing for hours on end yesterday or last night or this morning, so the new cough syrup plus the mucinex they have him on seem to be working.

I came home and crashed after a nice breakfast with John, so I will continue to try to take care of myself, as I know that the months ahead pretty much promise to suck. My mom is leaning toward having her third surgery, though she will wait till her appointment on the 17th to decide.

Overall I''m optomistic about his recovery. I wore a face mask last night, so hopefully I won''t catch anything either, we''ve all been spreading around illnesses in my family, so we need to be careful that a) we don''t get sick and b) if we are sick we try not to get other''s sick.

My grandmother is apparently having a very difficult time, I haven''t seen her, and I feel bad about that. I''m probably going to go up to see her tomorrow. They took her to the hospital yesterday, and he was slurred and disoriented, so I think that probably freaked her out too. I know it did to everyone else in my family from John to my step dad.

Grandfather''s are very special. Mine has always said I am the light of his life. He has two other grandchildren, my cousins, but he raised me... and are boys, and were not raised close by, so while he loves them absolutely, he''s told me that there is no one in his life he loves more than me... not his own daughters, his wife... or anyone. It''s a wonderful and amazing thing to be loved like that. And it''s an amazing person who can love like that.

Thank you all for the continued support and prayers. I''m feeling optomistic he''s going to recover... his alertness and his behaviour at 8:00 am were the answer to my prayers all night long.

Thank you for updating us Gypsy. I''m praying for a full recovery for your Grandpa. Sending you big hugs

Things sound good Gypsy, I hope they continue. Thanks for letting us know.

Glad to hear he''s responding to the antibiotics Gypsy. I am also glad to hear his lungs sound better and that he isn''t coughing as much. That''s great. Sending more prayers his way, and more {{{HUGS}}} to you!!! Things are looking up!!!

Gypsy, thanks for updating us. I''m glad that your grandpa seems to be improving, and I''m still sending thoughts his way in hopes that he continues to do so. It''s funny that, even though I don''t know you or him from Adam, in real life, I still feel emotionally involved -- and I''m sure others feel the same. All the best to you.

I''m glad to hear he''s improving. Prayers, thoughts, and love are still going out to you and your family by the truckload.

Thanks for the update, Gypsy.
Some of this good PS dust and plenty of prayers must be helping grandpa.

Still thinking of you and sending you positive vibes, encouragement and support.

Hi Gypsy, thanks for keeping us updated. I''m so glad to hear that your grandfather is responding to the antibiotics. How is your grandmother holding up? Sending her well wishes too.

Gypsy, thanks for the update and your grandpa and family are in my prayers.

Gypsy, I just now saw this!

Hope he continues to improve and I can hear how much you love him.

Prayers and dust are on their way to your Grandpa. I hope he feels better very soon.

You guys are the best. I just talked to my uncle and grandpa was coherant, although tired, for the rest of today. No signs of stroke from today''s tests either.

I think it''s funny that you guys are thanking me for updates, when I''m just so grateful to have you all here listening to me, and supporting me. I know exactly what you mean Octavia, it''s amazing how close we can get to people we''ve never met. PS is a family for that reason. Thank you all so much for all your posts, and prayers and encouraging words.

Remember when my Nanny was sick? I was floored by the responses. I think people here get that he''s such an important person in your life and are routing for him to be on his red scooter to escort you up the aisle. I get goose bumps thinking about that, so sweet!! So yeah we are all wishing and hoping for the best. Your grandpa raised a very caring and gracious young woman. It''s the kind of relationship that brings you to your knees and one that you are so blessed to have. I''m thinking there are many more miles on his scooter!!

Yeah, honey I remember. ((HUGS)). You''re right. But it still floors me. You all do. As for the scooter, I''m praying you are right. I met with the florist on Friday and forgot to mention to her that I wanted some sort of floral decoration for the scooter. But I did by sturdy shoes this weekend that will give me some stability on the grass as I''m trying to keep pace with Grandpa''s Ferrrari (that''s what he calls it).

Haven''t heard anything this morning. I''m waiting till 10 to cal. THank you Kaleigh, for the perspective, Lorelie (the bunny is killing me with those eyelashes ellen added), Storm (who is always so good about supporting me) and of course, Ellen for driving home Kaleigh''s point.

Special huge hugs to you all. And humbled thanks as well.

Hi Gypsy,

I''m so glad to hear that no sign of a stroke is in evidence! It sounds like Grandpa is on the mend and will be around to scoot with you down the aisle...I''m thinkin'' positive here! So happy that things are going better...hang in there and please take care of yourself! {HUGS}

Thank you Harleigh and Gwen!. All reports say he''s improving. I''m going to visit tonight. Grandma sounds depressed when I talked to her. Gonna go visit her tonight too. Wish I could just leave work now. LOL. Oh well. Not gonna happen.
