All,

Due to some unforeseen circumstances I had to slightly cut my budget. I'm going to be getting somewhere around .75-.80 ct round diamond. I think i'm going to stay in the I/VS2 or I/Si1 category.

I will post some links w/ a few diamonds. Please let me know what you all think..

Also, I will not be able to request Idealscopes, so if you could give me an opinion based off the picture James Allen shows that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again..

What is the new budget?

I'm going to post now, even though I don't know the new budget, but this diamond is lower than your previous budget
I currently have this AGS0000 diamond and it's beautiful, great performance & super clean, but after some soul searching I'm planning to go closer to 1ct and returning this one to JA. It was certified only a few weeks ago.

edit: I would to see someone on PS get it!
sorry, forgot to say it is $3900 before discounts.

Here are a few solid options:

.74ct, F, SI1 (about under $3,300 after Pricescope discount)

.80ct, H, SI1 (certified eye-clean)

.77ct, H, SI1 (AGS 0 - Ideal)

Any of those stones will be a guaranteed winner. If you're interested in the Good Old Gold options, ask Jon to make you an image of these two stones, along with another, so you can compare the stones side-by-side.

Incidentally, I bought a stone with the exact same specs as the Brian Gavin linked above as an engagement ring and it was a great size.

I found this diamond on James Allen... Seems to be a nice diamond.. Need everyone's opinion:

It's a I/VS2

The HCA however is 1.9.. So i'm not sure. There are a lot of .80 ct I/VS2 diamonds on JA.. So should I get a different one?

HCA is pass fail (with a maybe zone of 2.1-2.5) and 2.0 and under is a pass. So I don't know what you are worried about. Just ask them for an idealscope to confirm performance. They can get one to you.

It's a nice choice.

But this one Rocky posted gets my vote: http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/11145/

As has been confirmed by other posters, Phinsfan, the two GOG stones I suggested above are worth further examination.

Get in touch with Jon (Rhino here on the boards) and he'll help you with info you need (video, possibly) to make this decision.
