Harleigh, your (newest) dress is so absolutely perfect for you! HOORAY! I''m so excited! You are going to be such a stunning bride.
Hee hee, Kimberly! At least I didn''t bore you with the 5 or 6 dresses in between the first and last one, right?

Thank you for the kind words! I''ll try to get better pictures taken soon!

i love the wedding dress !! and i really like the color scheme you''ve got going on!!! i don''t know if you ever saw pictures of my hawaii bouquet but it had lime green cyms, purple and white dendrobiums and lemon leaves. tied with a fuschia wide satin ribbon much like the bm dress colors you have there. i love the first one that chelle posted with the oranges, very pretty.
Hi Mara,

Thanks so much! I know I''ve looked at your thread for Hawaii wedding info, but I don''t remember your bouquets, so I''ll go check them out! I love that one chelle posted, too...it''s at the top of my favorites!

Wow, and I thought I was good at the eBay thing! Awesome dress, Harleigh, it looks perfect on you. I was cracking up at the image of you trying to tear into that box at every corner and stoplight

. I''ve been there...
Hi Selkie! A fellow ebay queen...we''ll have to swap bargain stories one day soon! Thanks for the compliments...and I seriously wish I had had a video camera watching my frustration at getting into the dang box...I could really have used the money I could''ve won from "Funniest Home Videos!"

Hi Cyn,

Thanks so much! If you lived nearby, I''d love to have a shopping buddy! (None of my friends have the shopping gene!

I only know that Wailea, where we used to stay at the Four Seasons, was the dry side of the island, so Kanapali, Kapalua, etc (spelling?) were prone to be not as dry, whatever that means in Hawaii!!! I love it there, from the East coast it is too far, but I love it!

Hi df! I have no idea, either, so here''s hoping! All of the travel books say it should be fine in Mid-July with an average temp of 85 degrees...keep your fingers crossed we don''t melt is what I say!

Here are some of the pictures my friend took...I swear I look better in the dress than these pix show...but here you go!

Now I''m going to try to load some of our engagement pictures...they''re on disk, so I don''t know if I''ll be able to get them loaded on here!

Since I need to work on getting the engagement photos loaded from the disk, I thought I''d share our DIY wedding invites in the meantime...

I found the background piece with silver embossing in a pack of 40 w/envelopes, response cards w/envelopes and silver seals...all for $2.00 a box at Big Lots. FI liked them with what I''d put together well enough that we bought out 2 stores worth on Friday night!
9.gif
This would be about 4 cents an invite, well, actually less as I didn''t include the response cards or silver seals...pennies on the dollar here, ladies!!!
9.gif

I went to Michael''s and bought the 12" X 12" scrapbooking paper in a light green...4 for $1.00-I can get 4 pieces out of a sheet, so cost is 6 cents per invite.

The vellum I bought at JoAnn Fabrics...regularly $9.99 for a pack of 50...I used my 40% off coupon and paid $6 for the pack. I can get 2 invitations done per sheet, making the vellum cost 6 cents per invitation.

The fuschia ribbon is from Wal-Mart and is the same exact color as the BM''s dresses. I think thes were either $.99 or $1.99 for 9 feet of ribbon... I won''t even begin to bore you anymore with how cheap this makes these!

I had originally tried to print on the vellum using a fantastic laser printer at work...the ink kept smearing everywhere! Who knew that hooking up my old dinosaur of an HP injket printer would do the trick??? Works like a charm as long as I feed them through the manual feed one at a time.

What do you think?

Another...hope it''s a bit bigger!

All I can say, my twinkie, is thank goodness I live alone! I laughed out loud so loudly that I scared my poor cat off the floor by my feet just now!

Thanks for all of the kind words...I am starting to get excited, too! And yes, we are both Lee''s...so are two of my best friends...they are all Lee''s...I''m the only one with a different spelling, which of course I hated when I was younger, but now I like that it''s not very common!

As for matching the BM dresses in the engagement photos, I figured it would be a good way to see if I was going to like the color in wedding photographs for the rest of my life, and I''m so glad I did! I love the colors together! We are even now trying to find FI the same shirt as the green ones in cream...of course, now that they''re on clearance at Mervyn''s, we can''t find one in his size...arghhh! After I saw him in the cream shirt in the e-pictures, it got me to thinking that maybe he could stand out from his guys a bit, and since my dress is now cream, I thought it might go well together...I''m determined to find one in the right size!!! Some way, some how! (Oh, and my shirt was a little $10 number from Wal-Mart...go figure!)

Thanks for being giddy right along beside me, my diamond twinkie!!!

(Just wait till you get a load of my Save the Date boxes and my OOT welcome bags...woooooo woooooo!) I''ll post those when they all arrive and I get them situated!

LOL...I think we all need a little tart to help even us out a bit! And you are by far one of the kindest people I have "met" here on PS, and I always enjoy hearing from you!

I don''t know what the deal with my family is...they are just so wrapped up in their own lives, I guess! And I appreciate your offer of help...if I ever figure out what it is I''m doing, I may just call you on that!!!

Oohhh...almost forgot to post my "Will you be my BM, MofH" cards I just got in the mail today...I''ll have to get those up before I head to bed!

Thanks again, my friend...hope you have a great night!

Here are the "Will you be my ______" cards I got from a gal on ebay. Not too impressed with them, so I tried to spruce them up with a little rhinestone on the bow.

Inside I included the poem that is on the cookie someone else posted awhile back on the right side. On the left side of the card, I included the pertinent details of the when and where, etc... as briefly as possible.

Does anyone have any input on how long to give the gals time to decide if they want to come to Hawaii or not and be part of the wedding party?

I thought it would be cute to put a "Please RSVP by..." along with all of the details I included in the card. I''m not sure that was the right thing to do etiquette-wise, but I have one BM who has already flaked and another I haven''t heard from in over a month, so I have a friend who we know IS going to HI with us AND she has offered to be a back-up BM and has told me how honored and privileged she would be to stand up with me.

I feel horrible that I may not be able to include her, but she understands our trying to keep the wedding party to no more than 3 on each side, but I guess if the other gal pulls it together and goes, I could still have my back-up BM...she has most DEFINITELY been a better friend as of late, and if I''ve learned anything here on PS, it''s to go with who you are most comfortable right now!

I put an RSVP date of Friday, Oct. 26th...do you think that''s enough time as they have known the basic plan since July...sheesh!

Any thoughts?

Harleigh,

Everything is gorgeous! I love your color scheme, the celery and the fushia will be great for a Hawaiian wedding!

Your dress is slammin!! You look great! And the price?! Can''t get any better than that!

Thanks, Evelynn!!! You''re so sweet!

Hi Ladies!

I seem to have been locked out of PS for a bit, so Layla, I believe it IS possible!
31.gif
(Where are those dang pictures, anyways???) I''m going to drive down there and start drinking with you...what are you, bout an hour and a half away??? Well, in this rain, maybe a bit more, but I will see that ring in person one day, I swear!

Anyhow, leaving work soon to head to FI''s for the weekend, but wanted to post something cool that happened Wednesday night. We went to one of the Fire Chief''s retirement dinners and ran into some old friends of FI''s. Long story short, they are going to provide us with a DJ for our backyard wedding reception next August! How cool is that? The wife went on and on, and finally after trying to tell her it''s not necessary, we both finally looked at each other and said, "That would be great!"

I don''t think either of us planned to have a DJ at the party, but for some reason it kind of makes it feel all the more real to me as a DJ kind of moves things along on a day like that. There will be so many family and friends there that he may be able to keep the crowd control in check, as well!

I don''t know why I''m so easily amused by the thought of having my own DJ for our reception, but there you have it!

Thanks for letting me share...hope you all have a nice weekend!
