I'm still here too! I mostly lurk now-a-days but I've begun posting again in the last week or so. The ring is here in the house, and he says it's coming "soon" which I hope means by the end of the year at the latest but you never know! I'm really thinking it will be by the end of the year because I am going to need to leave the country again here coming up, and neither of us want that and the wedding/marriage/engagement talk has been really open, honest, and we are both on the same page. I'm gathering he wants to plan something special and there is 0 extra dollars to be doing anything extra, and I know he won't do it at the apt (even though it's so us and special too!).

I have been saying "HONEY! I started at #117 on the LIW list and now I'm 57!" To that he replies, "Well I should wait until you get to number 1!" That of course backfired because Galateia is number one and she's from Toronto and married her US bf to stay in the country (not just those reasons but one of them) and are still considering themselves unmarried until they are ready personally and not because of immigration stuff. Which is the exact opposite boat we are in, lol. I'm from Texas (that's where Galateia went) and he's from Toronto, so we pretty much just flopped! I wonder if they'll exchange our immigration statuses...one for one? LOL And Galateia if your lurking...I understand about the immigration hassles now. The cost to get me into the country after everything is all said and done is going to be about 5k!!!!

Anyways! Sorry about the mini-thread jack. I just found it funny that one #1 LIW has a similar situation and idk when she'll be removed from the list...but I hope I don't really have to wait until I'm number 1! Also to add a disclaimer, I find nothing wrong with Galateia and their "married" or "unmarried" status, I just thought it was ironic that he said I'd have to wait until I'm #1 and #1 by all legal reasons is married for the same reason we will probably get married earlier than we normally would have

BF and I have been looking at appartments/houses so hopefully once we find the right place the proposal wont be too far away.

Also, after trying on ALL the engagment rings in my store, I still like mine the best

I'm still here, even though I'm not really a LIW yet. But BF and I are going on 3 months and I love him more than ever, so that's a good thing!

In other unrelated news, I'm leaving on vacation to Australia tomorrow! I've never been there and I'm so excited!

I'm here. Not much going on. Boyfriend and I are definitely, officially moving in together in December. I'm hoping for a proposal in October, but I think it's more likely I'll get it in January or February. There has been no talk of rings for a while now. We looked at rings online together months ago, and decided that we would pick it out together, but he still wants to do a traditional "surprise" proposal...fine by me. But now I'm feeling sort of awkward, as we haven't discussed the ring since then, and I kind of want to bring it up. I have some new ideas about what I'd like. But I don't want to come off as nagging. He's doing a lot already. He just renegotiated his lease so that we can move in December. That's a big step for him. I hate to nag now! I'm going to wait a few more weeks and then casually slip it into the conversation at some point. To be honest, I don't think he realizes that the ring is something that might take time. He probably thinks he can just get it the day before he proposes.
