Happy Friday kids!
Curby, I'm going to be put on gift wrapping duty here in NJ pretty soon, I can feel it. There have been several (not to veiled) hints since my arrival about needing to festive the place by up getting some gifts under the tree, and since I'm the one that does all the wrapping for everyone in the family (yes, I often end up even wrapping my own gifts too) I can see where this is going... The good news is I love it, so I don't mind!
Rod, I just hate it when my clothes shrink just hanging there in the closet like that! I have five cashmere sweaters that I really love and they have gotten quite a bit smaller since last year. Not really sure how that happened!
So my friend isn't big on (a) eating regularly or (b) having things in the house that are easily edible without (sometimes extensive) cooking. Fortunately I acted with foresight yesterday when I came up from the subway and stopped at Starbucks (to get some instant Via because she's also not a coffee drinker) and then at the drug store for milk, sugar and some Snickers bars. So you can guess what I had for breakfast! I did go out a bit later when she was on a conference call and come back with a flatbread and a sandwich from a little neighborhood place that we shared. And she just produced -- like magic! -- from the refrigerator a chocolate bar. Dark salted brown butter organic chocolate, to be exact. YUM!
OK, back to my book. I'm reading The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt. It's great, I do recommend it.
