How did you like the Essie gel polish kit, Marcy?

On the work front, I sent a text letting the company know that I need more time. My sleep is crappy again. I still have more WIDOW administration going on. I'm hoping to make it to the DMV this week (3rd try). Cleaning lady is coming tomorrow at 1230 so I need to make sure I'm up early and have stuff put away before she gets here.

I ate so well this weekend. I also walked over 5 miles on Sunday! It's been a while... we got kinda lost in Central Park for a bit lolol.

PB, this is my first time trying the Essie Gel Coutre. It dries fast and has a nice glossy finish. I'll let you know how well it hold up this week.

Sorry to hear your sleep is crappy again. Good luck at the DMV. I do that too - pick up,things before the cleaning lady comes.

You walk through central park sounds nice.

Happy Birthday To Me kids!!!

Beanie, crappy sleep is The Worst. On top of everything else I'm sorry you have to deal with that too. Ugh. How is the studying going in general? When I prep for exams like that I find I have to leave the house. I spent so much time at Starbucks studying for the CPA exam I'm surprised they didn't put a plaque on my favorite chair with my name on it!

Curby, we had an AMAZING moon this morning for the 5 am (UGH!) drive back from Michigan. I tried to take a pic but it's so bad if I didn't know what it was it would be meaningless, ha ha. I remembered to bring the yellow peep home this morning and I'll try to remember to post a pic for you later.

Not much exciting to report here on my birthday... We're just planning where to go to lunch, and it's looking like pizza! Of course we'll have cupcakes this afternoon. :lickout: (Because we have cupcakes for EVERYTHING -- there's a reason my pants don't fit!)

Hi Kids!

Happy Birthday Dee Jay :wavey::wavey::wavey:

Dee Jay, morning full moons are amazing. It always seems brighter. I notice that about Venus too. Maybe it's because I rarely get up that early.

Did you have a wonderful B-Day? I hope so.

I was crazy busy at work but still took out time to go to lunch with a friend. Marty hadn't thawed anything out for us for supper so we went out for supper. Something didn't set well with me; I left most of my wine and ate very little of my personal pizza. I made myself an alka seltzer when I got home and feel mostly okay now. Strange.

The optometrist is checking my retina again in the morning. I think it's slipped back a bit on vision. We will see.

Take care.

Happy birthday DeeJay From YOUR Beanie!

Marcy I hope your eye and tummy fair better tomorrow!

I went to bed earlier than usual last night - after 2AM whoop woop ! I was up by 10AM. I felt less frat boyish lolol. I have not been studying. If I keep improving the sleep pattern I should be ready in no time to study. Yay!

Happy Wednesday kids!

Curby and Beanie, thank you for the Happy Birthdays!

The CB picked me up right at five yesterday and we went shopping at Pier1, World Market and West Elm (it was my birthday after all, so he put up with it like a champ!). Then we went to dinner at an Argentine steak house that we'd been to one before. It was really good! Tonight I think I might go shopping at a big home store in the 'burbs. My real temptation is to go home, drink some prosecco, and go to bed early because I'm tired today, but if I don't go shopping I will likely regret it because then I'll want to go this weekend when I'm over at the boathouse and I'll lose pretty much a whole day since the nearest one of these stores is an hour away from there, so that's two hours of driving when I could be sitting in the boat house doing nothing, LOL.

Not much else existing to report today...

Hi Kids!

Beanie, my tummy is fine today. Thanks. My eye is about the same. I had to leave both my new glasses and sunglasses to get different lenses. I go back in 3 weeks and need to continue with my eye drops.
LOL to keeping hours like a frat boy; you'll probably have to vastly increase your pizza and beer consumption so you can really feel like you are in college again. I kind of doubt frat boys study much either.

Dee Jay, it sounds like you had a wonderful birthday. A nice dinner and shopping. What more could you ask for on your B-day?
I have been wanting some bubbly wine, please have some for me.

My eye exam was okay. He claims he sees improvement but I just compared the 3 retinal images and I sure don't see what the heck he is talking about. He wants me to use the eye drops indefinitely. I hope the insurance company continues to help pay for them; that tiny little bottle is $339. Ouch! They had my new glasses in so I put them on for my eye exam and I couldn't see the 20-20 line with them unless i turned my head down and left. At least the optometrist is seeing that my glasses aren't coming out as expected. So far he hasn't charged me for these follow up exams; I am sure those will be pricey when he starts charging me.

Work was heck from the minute I walked in the door. Stupid crap from my team and others and a million updates. I wanted wine when I got home but settled for a mini Coke with some leftover pizza.

Marty is heading to LA on Saturday for 2 weeks.

Take care.

Happy Thursday kids!

Curby, now I'm not eye doctor... but... if you have to turn you head down and to the left to see, then my non-professional opinion is that something is rather F'd up!

Last night I made a pilgrimage to a store called At Home that refers to itself as a "home super store." They are just GIANT and PACKED TO THE GILLS with house stuff. Since my first visit to one (where I literally left after buying NOTHING because I was completely overwhelmed) I've learned how to manage the store. I went for two things last night and I came home with those two things. Now I'm not saying I didn't spend an additional two hours wandering around looking at all sorts of other sh!t I don't need, but at least I accomplished what I went for. The frame on the picture I got is a little dinged up in one spot, but depending on where I hang it it may not be noticeable at all since it's way at the top. If I CAN see it I'll probably troll the three other At Homes within driving distance to see if I can get a better one, but the first order of business is to see if it even FITS in the two possible places I at thinking of putting it, LOL.

Tonight we're going to dinner with some friends at a swanky place that it's almost impossible to get into, so I'm hoping it's fabulous. Tomorrow I will go up at meet with the shoe store lady... who is currently overdrawn in her checking account once again... UGH. These creative types are going to be the death of me -- I'm a NUMBERS person for god's sake! It either balances or it DON'T!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, I think you and I definitely have more skill as an optician than the ones they have helping me in the optical shop. I can see great with my current glasses so no matter what they do I have these to fall back on.

The Home Super Store sounds fabulous. I am sure you will spend hours and many dollars there.

Have fun at dinner at the swanky place with your friends.

Good luck with the shoe store lady. You probably wouldn't mind my bookkeeping practices. I keep receipts, log in everyday to check my accounts and balance my checking account. I'm paranoid and anal that way.

I hear the garage door opening. I thought aliens had taken Marty but I couldn't figure out why they wanted his F150 too. All of his toys, watches and electronics where here, the alarm wasn't on and so I figured it had to be aliens.

Work was way better than the last 2 days. Woo hoo and I've only got one more day to go. Sadly I'll probably be busy this weekend with last minute updates.

Have a great evening.

Hi Kids!

I am so glad the weekend is here. What a week at work - or the land of the irresponsible I didn't do it nobody told me does that apply to me crap. :wall:

Smoke is bad again today. I ran some stuff down to Marty at his gym and he had his screen door open; I didn't stay long and my eyes are still burning. He heads to DIA tomorrow night.

I am getting my hair cut in the morning and have to make some things for an Alzheimer's bake sale at work but other than that I plan on being pretty lazy this weekend. i might make cookies and blueberry muffins.

Rod, I hope you and Charlie will be okay with Irma. What a huge hurricane!

Dee Jay, I saw this on FB today and immediately thought of you. I like the idea myself.

Curby
IMG_2325.jpg

I sent Rod an email. They are doing okay and are as prepared as they can be for the hurricane. The thought of evacuating wasn't considered until the forecast changed this morning and by now it's too late to try and get out. They are getting hurricane shutters installed tomorrow on their new place and put up any projectiles. He said to let you know they are okay.

Hi Kids! Happy Saturday.

It's only hazy here today instead of smoky. A nice relief. We went out to breakfast and lunch today so no dishes. Woo hoo! I got a hair cut and we did some shopping at Kohl's. I did find a mauve today in the Essie gel couture so I picked it up. I am on day 6 and while they have some color worn off at the end they honestly don't look bad. I'll try the mauve tomorrow and see if my nail polish lasts the week.

I am heading to the grocery store after Marty heads to the airport. His boarding pass didn't print TSA pre on it so he'll have to get in the regular line.

Laters,
Curby

Hi Kids!

It looks like Tampa might get a direct hit from Irma. I hope Rod's hurricane shutters were installed and do the trick.

I've had a busy day for doing nothing. I made blueberry muffins and chocolate chip cookies to take in for the bake sale tomorrow. I think I'll have chips and salsa for supper I am so over cooking and doing dishes. Ha Ha.

I met some friends of ours to look at our RV. They looked it over really well and said they'll let me know. I swear getting that payment gone would be fabulous! If they even offer me less I'll take it. It's sat there for 3 years already and I doubt that dealer has ever shown it to ANYONE.

My fantasy football team is bombing! Some of the people I have on my bench are doing better than my starters. Phooey.

Do I have to go back to work tomorrow?
Curby

Happy Monday kids!

Curby, OMG, that prosecco water cooler is FANTASTIC!!! If I could get office services to install one of those I'd be happy/happier about coming to work!!! LOL on your bench players doing better than your starters. I can hardly keep track of real football, let alone fantasy, and really the Steelers are the only team I care about.

This weekend flew by (as usual). We went to the boathouse on Friday night and got there pretty late. Saturday we went to a festival at a winery about half an hour away. It started at noon and they were VERY generous with the pours. I was lit by 1 pm and had to go home and take a NAP. We tried a Chinese place by the boathouse that night and it was pretty terrible. Yesterday I did some more shopping, including exchanging the picture I bought for the boathouse because the frame was damaged on the one I got. Well, more accurately, I bought another one of the same thing and I still have to take the other one back because I forgot to put it in my car, ha ha. I also picked up some baskets to put magazines in beside the sofa and a couple more throws. Once I unpackaged them they smelled kind of weird though so I'm hoping they air out. This morning we got up at 5 eastern (so really 4 my time) and drove home. I got to the office about an hour and a half earlier than usual. I'm ready for a nap now...

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, you should show that to your boss. Maybe he'd jump at the idea to make his employees happy. I thought it was pretty funny I did so poorly at Fantasy Football; luckily I do it for fun not money.

Your visit to the winery sounds like a lot of fun. I went to a wine tasting one time and they gave you sip sizes. It was in my drinking days too; I was sad. Darn that the Chinese place wasn't very good. I ate at the mall tonight; it wasn't too spectacular either. What do I expect though? I hope the odd smell goes away from the new throws. I bought a 4 pack of reading glasses at Sam's Club one time and they really stunk. My face even smelled like them after I took them off; since they never quit smelling bad I finally threw them out.

I was still chasing around about the RV today. That couple wants to see the unit with the slides out and we need power to it so the switches for that works. I called to talk to a salesman at the dealership today and he had no idea what I was talking about and said he didn't know we had a rig there on consignment. The guy we signed the contract with 3 years ago was out sick today so I hope to catch up with him tomorrow. I really want to chase around and do this especially when I have absolutely no idea how things work in the RV. Marty was very methodical about setting everything up when we went camping. I just hung out and drank wine. Worked for me. :D

I looked at earrings at the mall tonight. Nothing worth pulling out of the case to see. The 2017 stuffed animals are out at Kay's. I didn't like the teddy bear very well so I didn't buy one. Shocking!

Laters,
Curby

Happy Tuesday kids!

Curby, I hope the couple buys the RV and that all this effort you're going through isn't for naught! Things always happen like this, don't they? Crickets for ages and then BOOM, the instant it's most inconvenient somebody comes along. Happens to me all the time in real estate too. I'll sit around for a month twiddling my thumbs, plan a trip somewhere, and VOILA -- three people who want to buy something RIGHT NOW.

Last night I stayed at work until about seven. When I went home I drank some prosecco and *thought* about doing laundry (but didn't actually DO it, ha ha. This morning I did throw a load in before I left for work though.

OK, off to put my nose to the grindstone...

Sunset pic for you from last night Curby!

Hi Kids,

Dee Jay, what a fabulous sunset picture. I love it. I can't see sunsets from here anymore but I keep trying to catch the sunrise. Then I think crap I shouldn't be looking at the Sun I've only got one good eye. :lol-2:

Thanks for the good luck wishes on the selling the RV. It turned in to a PITA for me today but got better after work. The sales guy I talked to yesterday called me first thing this morning saying they didn't have it on consignment, they said someone moved it over to the storage side and since we've had it stored there that long we either owed them storage fees or we had to remove it from their property. I'm like REALLY? So I called Marty and told him he needs to deal with it. I never heard back from him so I sent him at text about 3 and he said sorry I've been running all day and I'll do what a can. Of course my BP is peaking by then since I told him at least once a month for well over a year to go out there and see what we needed to do to sell that stupid thing.

After work I go out there with my contract and ask to talk to the guy who Marty signed the contract with and he was very kind. Apparently some guy who quit there 2 years ago said we no longer wanted to sell it on consignment and moved it to the storage side. They tore up our contract. Luckily they still had our keys. Huh? Anyway he apologized for that guy saying I had to remove it from their property. So he made out a new contract and will get it ready for that couple to go see it tomorrow. We are going to pay for the floor to be replaced in the kitchen and whatever repairs he finds. I am sure it needs new batteries; they last 2 seasons at best with our winters here. I figure if it sells for our asking price, plus I pay them 10% commission plus repairs I'm out 16K to get out of it but that's almost what I paid for it the 3 years it's been on the lot. Cross your fingers and toes the RV sells. That $20,000 off a $80,000 RV seemed like a great deal at the time. Not so much when you want to sell it though. RV's don't hold their value at all.

I stopped and picked up 2 pieces of cheese pizza for supper and had some slow churned ice cream when I got home.

My Essie Gel still looks pretty good for day 2. One spot on top has a scrape but the ends aren't chipping off yet.

Have a great evening.

@Dee*Jay I missed you so much I had to come back and see your beautiful pixie face! See you soon my love!

I think we should just randomly show up at @marcy doorstep one day in costume. Me in Pizza Hut uniform and DeeJay in dominos. We should proceed to argue when Marcy answers the door. What do you think?

Awesome idea PB. Be sure to bring warm cookies. I'll have the wine. :wavey:

Sleep is illusive right now. I definitely think I'm allergic to these eye drops. :wall:

Happy Wednesday kids!

Curby, I would be SUPER P!SSED about the RV just sitting there with not efforts to sell it for all that time. I would make a BIG stink at the place and them to cut whatever commission they are getting when it does sell. Ugh!

Beanie, I just sent you a text about dinner. BTW, I have this bad habit of starting texts to people and getting distracted (squirrell!) and then thinking hmmm... wonder why X never replied to me, and then I go in to send another message and see I didn't actually send the FIRST one. So if you text me and don't hear back (like this week when we were trading messages about you coming) just assume I got distracted by a squirrel!

Yesterday I stayed at work until about seven again. When I got home I had chips and salsa and prosecco for dinner. All three food groups in one meal! The CB left this morning for a fishing trip up north with his brothers and cousins and who knows who else. I am supposed to go over to Michigan this weekend but I'm going to try to change my plans so I can be in town.

OK, off to work on this monster never ending project...

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, I am pretty fired up about the whole RV thing. I'll be hitting them up for something when it sells for sure. Pretty poor; I was thinking maybe they are related to my real estate agent.

LOL to squirrel. I tease a friend of mine about that all the time. She has the FOMO disease too.

I stayed at work late tonight. I think you had a great supper last night. I thought of doing chips and salsa for supper tonight myself. I opted for peaches and cheese.

I hope CB has fun fishing and you enjoy staying home.

How did your never ending project go today?

I couldn't sleep at all last night. I am pretty sure I'm allergic to my eye drops. They are the same family as the anti inflammatory medicine I used to take for arthritis and I was definitely allergic to it. I broke out in a rash from head to toe from it; it looked like I'd been burnt. The eye drops make me itch like crazy, swell my lips, tongue and give me a sore throat. I kept getting up and looking to see if I had a rash I was itching so bad. My eye aches now and then. I might not put in a drop tonight. I still think my vision has got worse and what if my eye is swelling from irritation. Grr. My next appointment isn't for 2 weeks. I did get my new glasses and they are okay but I sure had to increase the size of things on my laptop to see it.

Laters,
Curby

Happy Thursday kids!

Curby, that's crazy about being allergic to your eye drops! Is there a way to get in sooner and maybe see if there is an alternative you can use that won't have the same ingredients?

Last night I stayed at work until about 7:30. I FINALLY see the light at the end of the tunnel on this annual review! I've gone one more REALLY big manual audit piece that I always put off until the end because it's SO mind numbing... but it is what it is and it's just got to be done. Not sure if I will come in tomorrow or not. I was going to so I can go and meet people after work downtown, but now it depends on my progress. If I get enough done I will *potentially* not come in tomorrow, but that's won't really make any difference in my evening meet-up.

OK, motivation is few and far between so I'm off now to strike while the iron's hot!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, I swear if someone is going to have a reaction to something it's going to be me. You could set a timer to see how long codeine stays in my stomach. It's 15 minutes on the dot. That is why I completely rejected the idea of giving me a shot in my eye; there's no coming back from that one.

Yay for seeing the light at the end of the tunnel on your annual review. Good luck finishing that big manual audit. I am pretty happy tomorrow is Friday but there's no staying home for me. My boss is out tomorrow so I'll have to go in. Darn. Have fun meeting up with people downtown tomorrow.

Work lived up to it's name again today. I met a friend for lunch today so that was a nice break in my routine. I needed a few things at Walgreen's so I had supper at Applebee's which is right across the street. I ordered a small mudslide and drank most of it until I got cold from drinking it. I brought home 1/2 of my supper for my lunch tomorrow.

Have a great Friday!
Curby

Happy Friday kids!

Curby, your reaction to codine is like my reaction to any sort of pain pill too. The worst was when I ended up in the ER with my herniated disc. They wouldn't let me leave until I look some oxycodone, even though I warned them it wouldn't go well. Fifteen minutes later I puked it back up (and that was a thrill, heaving with a bulging disc pressing on a nerve... ) and left.

Yesterday I had my review. My boss and I usually go out for drinks and do it but HR needed me to fill out the form about taxes specific to my bonus so we did it on the fly in a conference room. I expected a totally flat year so I was pleased to get a little bump in base and a small increase in bonus from last year. Not enough to change my life mind you, but since I went in thinking 0 and + was indeed a plus!

Today I'm at the office to proof read the annual review. Woo hoo! There are a couple niggly details that I'll need to talk about with my boss on Monday, but for the most part I'm DONE! I think once I get through this today I'm going to head out and do some shopping.

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, isn't that silly when they make you take pills even though they will make you sick? They used to tell me well however long they stay in your stomach will help the pain. But what about throwing up? Huh???? That must have been awful getting sick on top of a bulging disc pressing on a nerve.

Glad your review was good and that's great you got a little bump in your base and a larger bonus. Sweet.

Good deal your annual review is done. I am sure you are relieved.

We had an astronomy club meeting last night. I downloaded a few videos on the Voyager Spacecraft since they have been in space for 40 years now. Cosmic coincidence that Cassini crashed in to Saturn yesterday so I downloaded a short video on that too. Pretty or cool pictures always can hold a crowd.

I tried a few tips from Missy on my eye drops last night and they helped. I picked up a refill today. Last night the first drop that came out was an air bubble so I think the bottle is almost empty.

My gel polish is on day 6 and I would say it's chipped off enough that it needs replaced. I picked up a lighter pink so I'll try it tomorrow.

My cleaning lady just left so I think I'll go eat somewhere. No dishes.
Curby

Happy Saturday kids!

I woke up at six, had a cup of coffee, cruised the internet, and dozed in and out until about nine. Frankly I should have just gotten UP! So far through I've done two loads of laundry, including the sheets, made half a frozen pizza, listed out all the things I need to return to various stores, and cleaned up *a little.* Right now I should be going through last month's accounting for the cow bag lady because I'm leaving to see her in a few hours... but I'm just not super accounting motivated right now, LOL.

OK... off to check the mail and take the trash out and then... Balance Sheet, here I come!

I just have to report in on how proud I am of my returns today!!! I took stuff back to World Market, JC Penney, Gap, Ikea, Pier 1, At Home and Home Depot. I'm sure American Express will be mighty confused when all those negative transactions hit, ha ha! I also have something to take back to Kohl's but I'm waiting for a delivery from them and I might as well see if those things work out because there's no point in potentially having to make two trips. I also picked up a vase for the boathouse that was half off because it has a flaw in the finish (that side goes toward the wall, LOL) and a pair of work pants on clearance for $15. Score! I just got home (it's after 10!) and I'm sitting in my parking lot having almonds and prosecco for dinner. Ahh... time to realaaaaaaaxxxx...!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, isn't it nice to kind of sleep in and lounge around? I did that today until about 8:30 then got up.

You did make the rounds on for returns yesterday. At least American Express won't have a lot of charges being added to your card. Marty was thinking about picked up a tablet with the Android platform yesterday for work and I told him our bank will definitely call him on that charge since he only buys Apple and Mac products. :lol-2:

Interesting dinner for you last night but it does sound good. I had a grilled cheese last night. It hit the spot.

It's in the 50's outside and I'm really chilled. I spilled a bunch of water on my shirt which made me more cold so I went and put on a thermal shirt and checked the temp inside and no wonder I'm cold. It's down to 72 in here. Yes, it's true I am cold at 72 degrees. I would have sworn it was low to mid 60's. I am way too cheap to switch the thermostat from AC to heat in September though.

A friend is coming over to watch the Broncos game today. I picked up raw veggies, fruit and baby bell cheese to put out for snacks. I stuck some ribs in the crock pot for supper so if she decides to stay I have plenty and any leftovers get added to my lunch stash.

My 3 items from Amazon showed up today with my free 2 day delivery. I ordered a different iPad case and it's horrid. It has a higher angle though so I might use it at work to prop up my iPad mini. It was only about $10 so I'm not worried about trying to return it. I got one of those hydro flask water bottles that is supposed to keep things cold for 24 hours. I like water really cold and once my water bottles get warm at work I quit drinking the water. I'll try it out tomorrow.

I chatted with Marty on Face Time yesterday. This is honestly the first time I was kind of unhappy he wasn't home so it was good for me to see him and talk to him. He was going to go see a movie since the theater is basically across the street from his hotel.

Have a great Sunday.
