Happy Friday kids!
Curby, I'm going to pop into the gem and jewelry show in Rosemont today and you've inspired me to look for some dangle earrings! I don't want to spend a fortune because I'm not sure how much I'll wear them, but if something catches my eye I'll check them out.
Deegee, I'm sorry your time at the beach is almost over but it sounds like you've had a really great vacation! Does Lily like the water? We were always afraid to take The Demon to the beach (Lake Michigan) because we were afraid he'd set out for Michigan and the last we'd see of him would be his furry head and he paddled toward the other side, ha ha.
Drum roll please.. I have reached a deal with the sellers on a unit! It's across the street from one of the most famous churches in the city and my eighth floor windows look right at the spires. The best part is the parking spot is on the same floor (yes... I have to drive up through eight floors of a parking garage... that part is NOT so fabulous... ) so when I get out of my car I just come into the service hall and then into the residential hallway and I'm at my unit. Usually in a high rise situation you have to park your car, take and elevator down to ground level, traipse through the lobby, and then take another elevator up to your unit. It's a real PITA, especially if you're carrying stuff. The parking spot is also diagonal and it's next to a wall so I've I've got some extra clearance for Billy Ray. Score! There is only one thing I "need" to do before I move in, and that's to remove the gas fireplace in the living room. There must be some mandate in developers' minds that everyone wants a fireplace. I actually don't. And I especially don't if it's placed on the wall so that you have to position your furniture to face it -- which means facing away from the gorgeous view. I plan on putting my couch on that wall and looking out the windows. I'm paying dearly for that view and I want to see it! The flooring in the living room is laminate and not something I would have chosen, but I don't hate it enough to change it. Same with the carpeting in the bedroom, but I may swap that out before I move in because that's definitely the time to do it. The kitchen is OK... but only OK. The cabinets are in great shape and are of high quality and are dark brown. I may look into getting them painted white. And the appliances are all new within the past year, but they are very mediocre. The granite is, once again, not something I care enough to swap out at this moment. I do really dislike the vanity and top in the master bath, so I likely will do something about that. I've been on line half the night looking at furniture, LOL. Now for the bad news... There is a tenant in there until September 1. I'm actually going to close at the beginning of July and take on the tenant for the last two months. Whatever. At least there's a light at the end of the tunnel!
Alright, off to make myself presentable for the day!
