Healthy Living Thread

Oh! I forgot to say, remember the other day we were talking about those glasses like your mom's but in pink? Well I found a set of six at an estate sale! I took pictures for the listing yesterday, and hopefully I'll get it up in the next day or two. They are really cool!

Happy Tuesday kids!

Yesterday in the office flew by. I had lunch with a couple of colleagues before running by to pick up GG, and stopped at Old Navy on the way back so that definitely helped, LOL.

Last night I had a totally *gourmet* dinner of Ramen noodles (HA!) and posted four or five listings, but I was so tired it didn't take me long to climb into bed! This morning I woke up early for some reason, but it worked out OK because I got the condo all cleaned up so now I won't have much to do before I leave to head back north.

I'm stocking up on Old Navy T-Shirts right now and one of the ones I bought yesterday has a flaw in the pattern (a big blank strip right across the back). Of course I didn't realize it until I'd already washed it. Hopefully they won't give me any problem swapping it out. My bad -- I should have looked it it better before I bought it!

Alright, heading up to office services to get some supplies to restock my desk.

Hi Kids.

Dee Jay, both GG and BB are stunning rings. I love them. i can totally see why are staring at them.

I did finally find a customer service chat deep under help on Amazon and get my refund the next morning. I have my camera ordered from elsewhere and it should drive Thursday. I have 2 more lenses on the way as well. I just ordered a replacement lens for the kit lens that comes with my camera. Between when I added it to my cart on Amazon and bought it tonight it went up $60. Ironically my 4 lenses didn’t quite add up to price of one of the Sony lenses Marty got delivered today. The mirror less cameras and lenses are way more pricey than the older digital cameras. We will see who ends up liking their camera the most.

That is funny you set so many alarms but not to wake up.

Good idea to take a break from Etsy and eBay. Too funny talking to someone at the Restaurant about auctions.

mmm bacon

Nice you got a lot of pictures taken. Driving to the city in heavy rain doesn’t sound fun. That can be as bad as a blizzard.

the family get together was nice. I’d say there was about 50 of us. It was great catching up with cousins and meeting their kids. My aunt was not doing well. She has Parkinson’s and was flat worn out. She has been through a lot.

work has been annoying. But hey it pays for impulse buys like new cameras and lenses.

Marty stood up his 2 clients tonight so we could go to dinner early. It’s our 30th anniversary today. We had a nice dinner and then went and took a picture of us in the gazebo in the park where we got married. After we got home we watched episode 1 of the new season of Bosch on prime.

off to get ready for bed. For some reason my iPad isn’t capitalizing first letters of a paragraph. I’m too lazy to correct them. Ha ha.

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, your new stuff on Etsy are pretty cool. Nice.

I did order one more lens last night. I should have ordered it this weekend. It went up $60. I’d set my camera budget excluding tax and filters at 2K. I got it up to $1975. It’s a whim so I hated to go too crazy. Plus I still want the ruby upgrade.

How is GG and BB today?

Dee jay, I thought of you when I read about the condo board apparently knew that condo that collapsed needed repaired. Sounds like they were planning on repairing it but hadn’t done anything yet. I guess all the residents apparently had to decide whether to pay their share of the repairs all at once or add payments to their payments. Such an awful tragedy.

Happy Wednesday kids!

Curby, Happy 30th anniversary to you and Marty!!! I can't imagine anyone being wiling to put up with me for that long ha ha! I swear when I read about them knowing there were issues with that collapsed building but not doing anything about it yet gave me flashbacks to the last condo I sold! I'm glad you found the way to chat with Amazon and got your refund rolling faster. The "pay" button is Right Out There, but the I Need Help button... NOPE.

Yesterday I stayed at my office until after 8 pm. If I'd left when I finished my last call with my boss (an hour earlier) I would have avoided the sky opening up on me about half way into the walk to my condo. Right before I left I did a little straightening up of my office and said to myself, huh, I have three umbrellas here. And there they stayed. Ugh. I changed into dry clothes and headed north, but I didn't get back here until after 10 pm.

Today I worked and worked and worked. At 5 o'clock Liam and the ferals and I went to the BBQ place, and then I went to get the pedicure I've been telling Liam all day I was on my way to get. And after that I channeled you! I went to Best Buy and got a new laptop to replace the two I currently have, one is 9 years old and the other is 7 years old. I bought the older one when I started studying for the CPA exam because it had a huge screen and a separate number pad on the side. For the past few years if you unplug it the battery lasts for less than an hour. And it weighs as much as a Volkswagon. Lately it's been locking up pretty badly and I'm afraid I'll loose stuff. But it's got a USB port, and I can connect it to the 17 year old HP printer (yes -- really!) to produce Etsy labels. The "newer" one is a Lenovo Yoga and the feature I love on it is that the screen flips back so it turns into a tablet so I don't have to put it away for taxi, take-off and landing. It's become quite squirrelly so I've been using the older feral's laptop for a lot of stuff, but it doesn't have office on it. Long story short (too late, I know!) I said screw it and just went and got a new laptop. Nothing fancy by any means, but I'm hoping to use it in place of the other three. I also want a new wifi printer, and preferably the same one that I've got downtown so I can use the same toner cartridges, but most of the less expensive printers at Best Buy are on back order so I didn't get one of those tonight. I'm going to look on the site though and see what the options are and the time frames for delivery. Whew -- that's a lot of info! Sorry!

Tomorrow I've got a call at 9 and one policy I want to update, but nothing else solid on the work front. And by then my new laptop will be charged so I'll work on setting it up.

OK, off to get some clothes out of the dryer and head off to bed.

Happy Friday kids!

Curby, are you snapping pics on your new camera?! Don't forget, I expect new fab bling photos from you! (Speaking of bling photos, I need to do a thread for GG!)

Yesterday I did a bunch of actual work. Again. (Ha!) The excitement of the evening involved me and the younger feral taking Billy Ray to Culver's to get milkshakes for everyone. This time he held the cardboard cup holder in his lap rather than spilling the milkshakes all over the back of the car like I did last time, LOL.

This morning Liam headed to an estate sale down south of us (he's off today). I am, once again, working (WTF?!) and hopefully taking some more photos for listings once I get everything else done. I really hope to get a lot of stuff cleared out of the dining room during this long weekend!

I got my new laptop set up yesterday, including moving some of my files over. I need to take another quick run through and email myself everything I want to open and save on here and then I am going to put the others to bed. I also ordered a new printer for up here (the same one I got several months ago downtown so I only need to think about one kind of toner cartridge) and then I need to figure out what to do with that behemoth in the dining room. It's built like a tank but it IS 17 years old so I can't imagine anyone would want it. Such a waste though -- it's the best and longest lasting piece of technology I've ever had!

It looks like we're going to have a nice pleasant day in the 70s but the 90s are right around the corner for the next week or so. I'm going to run all my errands today before the heat shows up in earnest!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, it is amazing we've been married for 30 years. I didn't think I'd be alive this long!

That sucks you had to walk home in the rain. Does it drop the temperatures there when it rains? It drops our temps 20 to 30 degrees when we get rain. It rather surprises me when we go somewhere and all rain does is make it more humid and hot.

Nice you channeled me and bought a new laptop. Good idea to get a wifi printer that takes the same cartridges. That's great you got your new laptop up and running. If only new technology lasted as long as older technology, huh? Can you find toner for that old of printer? We had a laser printer for years that worked great; it wasn't color though and eventually finding toner was almost impossible. I bought a color ink jet when I was teaching but replacing cartridges was too frequent and they certainly are not cheap anymore. We have a color laser air printer now, replacing the toner cartridges is painful but they last a long time with the 2 of us. We went to Best Buy today and I did not buy a thing - can you believe it? Marty wanted a decent but inexpensive tripod he could leave at the gym; sadly there wasn't such a magical tripod in the store. We did look at cameras and lenses. I tried to talk Marty in to getting another lens for his Sony camera but he resisted. He did a wireless microphone he can use with his camera. We wandered through the Apple and Mac sections but I didn't see anything I couldn't live without. Our next stop was our favorite steak house which was absolutely delicious as usual.

I haven't taken a ton of pictures yet, Marty dug out the battery and starting charging it when the camera was delivered. When I got home I did get the camera set up but then took care of dishes and got the July newsletter done and posted online. After that I played with the camera a bit. Today I took quite a few photos with all 3 lenses. The macro was great with flowers but SUCKED on the rings I am wearing today. I need to find what settings work on them. I hope we can go to the parks tomorrow and get some pictures there. Marty thought he'd go to the mountains tomorrow and get a sunrises photo; I said have fun!!!!

Yes, you should start a thread for GG. I'll check after I post this and see if you started one.

Glad to hear the trip to Culver's didn't result in any spillage in Billy Ray. We took the Curbymobile to Colorado today. The traffic around here is like last minute shoppers son Christmas Eve; it's CRAZY. Marty of course "loves" people having go slow races in front of him.

Good luck getting all of your glassware listed this weekend. I had the day off; it was great. I slept in; Marty was done at the gym by 8 so we met for breakfast. Then we headed to Colorado to go to BB and eat lunch. We got home about 3:30. I tried out all of my lenses and cleaned up the recent pile of boxes we've collected this week with cameras, lenses, filters and Nespresso cups. It's nice to have some muscles so I can break up boxes; I got everything busted up and in one box. Woo Hoo!

Have a great weekend.

Hi Kids!

Happy Tuesday kids!

Curby, those new photos of your flowers are GREAT! So crisp and the color is just gorgeous! Are you happy with the camera?

Speaking of pictures, I was a photo taking machine for four solid days! I think I have pics for about 30 more listings in addition to the 10 or so I already put up. I did my best to clear stuff out of the dining room as I went, but damn, it's still full!

I am officially back in the office!!! The commute this morning was an hour and 20 minutes, as opposed to the hour and 45+ that it used to be. I wonder how long it will take before the time creeps back up again. We are welcoming everyone back in typical company style with breakfast up in the reception area first thing (made to order crepes!) and we're having some big lunch blow out too. Guess the Covid 19 I put on isn't going away any time soon, ha ha.

OK, off to get some real work done!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, thank you - I am happy with my camera. I had the Sigma lens packed up and planned on returning it to Amazon via Kohl's but it appears I have to pack it and ship it by UPS (must be a dollar limit) so I might just keep it. It is a nice lens but too heavy for my small camera; I picked the smallest and lightest Canon Rebel so unless I want to use a tripod with it I probably wouldn't use it a lot. I'll decide later. Right now the camera is smarter than me. Once I figure it out I'll be good. I went to both parks last night and took pictures with the Sigma lens and the depth of field was kind of disappointing but what was in focus was great. Today while I was "working" I did some more reading on my camera and that lens and one review had a great point - the small lightweight camera I bought is a bit overwhelmed by a heavy metal lens so should be used on a tripod or stick to plastic lenses. Makes complete sense. Marty's Sony 24mm f1.8 lens has amazing images; he sent me a shot of him on a conference call with it - it looked like 4K TV. I responded - wow, if only I had a Sony camera. He didn't think I was funny. Go figure.

I did check out your page last night; you have some great items there. And your pictures are great. Glad you are having so much fun with this especially since it is a lot of work.

Good deal your commute hasn't been too long. It is kind of nice to be back in the office; sweet to have a welcome back breakfast. We are still restricted to not sharing food but everyone is back in the office as of Tuesday this week. My commute is about 15 minutes and I leave the house at the very last moment. Ha!

Last night after my picture taking outing I stopped by the gym. Marty and I went to supper and sadly I picked the wrong place. We opted to set on their patio and they had all tables full with one waitress. She was not slacking but didn't get to us for about 25 minutes. That was fine but when 2 tables that came in long after we were seated and they got their food before we did I certainly spoke up. Marty hates when I do that but waiting well over an hour to get a hamburger and a double cheeseburger was a bit much. We were there 95 minutes. WTH:?

I lifted tonight and then grilled myself a burger - you know protein. Marty would be proud. I had some tomatoes with it then followed that up with my last 2 chocolate chip cookies that were in the freezer.

Laters,

I liked this shot but as you can see the trees in the distance were not very sharpIMG_0382.JPG

Happy Thursday kids!

Curby, it sounds like you're having fun with your new camera! And LOL on it being smarter than you are. I always feel that way about electronics... The printer I ordered from Best Bay came yesterday and I can already hear it saying "I can't do that Dee." It's too bad that your dining experience was so long and drawn out. That's always such a bummer, especially if you're really hungry. Our eating at the office seems to be pretty much back to normal. In addition to the breakfast and lunch on Tuesday (where there were servers to hand out the food) we had a buffet yesterday just like the old days. The receptionist sent out a message around 11:45 yesterday that said "Lunch is ready in the servery. It's been a long time since I've been able to say that!" Ha!

I worked until about eight pm on Tuesday and then Liam picked me up from the office and we went to dinner at the Italian place by my old condo. Yesterday I bailed out right after five and got on the road. I had four orders to pack up last night that are headed to the post office this morning. Yesterday big deliveries from Kohl's and Old Navy were delivered so I need to try everything on and see if any of it's going back, which I can also do on the post office trip.

OK, off to get this show on the road!

Dee Jay, lol at your printer playing Hal and saying Sorry Dee, I can’t do that. I am sure you’ll get it to follow your directions soon.

Nice that your office is back to normal for lunches. Sounds nice.

Mmm Italian sounds good. I have leftover tacos for lunch which now becomes taco salad.

I hope your new arrivals are what you want. That’s great to be sending out more orders.

Marty is playing with my cameras and lenses now. I can see fingerprints and dust all over them now. He leaves the lens caps off, doesn’t put them in bags. Ha ha. I guess we are going to be park again tonight so he can test them with the tripod.

I am bored at work. Not much going on right now for us.

laters,
Curby

We chased a sunset tonight. This was my favorite shot. And BTW - remember I wanted my OWN camera for so many reasons Marty decided to test my camera today and let's say I sounded like Gordon Ramsey when I got home. My 50mm lens arrived. First thing I do is put the lens on and go out to take a picture of a great cloud and the mirror or viewfinder has dust on it. WTH? That only happens is you leave the camera body setting out without a lens on it. I can't see in it for pooh and made it worse. Turns out it is on the view finder but I still didn't get it out. Tonight we went to the park about 7:30 and every stinking picture of the lake looked awful. My sunset pictures weren't as dark as expected either. The lake pictures looked like something was sets wrong - so Marty had messed with my settings today; all those shots tonight were set for daylight. AARGH. Okay. I feel better now.

Happy Friday kids!

Curby, that's a great shot! As for Marty not taking good care of your camera... are we living with the same man?! The stuff I ordered from Kohl's and Old Navy turned out about 50/50. The color on some of the things was not at all what I saw on my screen. Like I got these grey capris with a cute scalloped leg... and they were PURPLE. I was so snipered by this that I actually went back to my order and looked to make sure I didn't somehow order purple pants (not an option BTW), and I really did pick grey. Oh well, it is what it is. Frankly I need more clothes like I need a third t!t. What I REALLY need at this point is to lose about half a ton, LOL!

Yesterday I did a little work, a lot of packing of orders, and a medium sized amount of garage/yard/rummage saling. There was a big sale at a church over by Liam's office and I picked up a bunch of Christmas wrapping paper for 25 cents a roll. I am going to offer gift wrapping for the holidays so I have been looking around at different sites to see if I could get some bulk paper that wasn't too expensive, but in a lot of places you have to get a roll the size of a telephone pole and it starts at around $85, so when I found five versions of paper that I could get several rolls of each I jumped on it. I've got two orders to wrap up this morning in addition to two that I already have sitting by the front door and I think I'll swing by a few estate sales on my way back from the post office. Nothing was compelling enough in the pictures to make me get up early and wait in line and now I'm glad because it just started raining!

Alright... up and at 'em!

Hi Dee Jay. Yes, I think Liam and Marty went to the same training school. Small children and even teenagers might have learned new words from me last night. I got the suggestion again last night that I should use a tripod and shoot in raw. The point is it’s my camera and I’ll do what I want not what you want!!!! I was tempted to hide the battery to my camera today

Glad that about half of your new clothes are keepers. Gray vs purple is rather easy to tell apart, oh well eh? I really need new clothes, my tops are hanging off my shoulders too much and my pants are baggy. I just don’t want to go clothes shopping. I will do that soon. I swear. I tried washing them in warm instead of cold water and it didn’t help. Oh well.

Nice to pick up Christmas wrap at that price. Great idea to offer gift wrapping. My mom worked at a Montgomery Wards and when they closed they let her take some of the huge rolls of gift wrap home. I think there was some of it left when we cleaned out their house. Those things were huge!

I’m done with my work already. I’ll have afternoon reports to do but it’s going to be an easy and boring day.

Have a great day!

Happy Sunday kids!

Curby, a department store giving me big rolls of wrapping paper would be sheer heaven! I love love love to wrap presents! I'm already thinking of how to redo the banner for the top of my store page with some wrapped boxes and samples of paper. Yes, I know, I need to get a life, ha ha!

This weekend is, as usual, flying by. On Friday I went to a few estate sales but didn't buy much. I did scope out one I wanted to go back to yesterday when the prices would be half off, and that worked out well because I got four sets of glasses and a vase for a reasonable price. Then I went into the city to meet up with our kids for the Big Brothers / Big Sisters summer picnic. We went to a giant park on the far south side and it was virtually impossible to find where we were supposed to meet. I did actually get there on time (the organizer finally sent us a text with a dropped pin in a map at the exact meeting place) but my girl's parents couldn't find the place and so she was an hour late. We ate and walked around and decorated pencil cases with fabric markers, but then it started to rain and there was no let-up in sight and we cut the event short. So it was back in the car to drive two hours up north again. Ugh. It was good to see her though, and I met her parents and her sister, which was really nice.

Today Liam is going to an auction but I am going to stay here and keep moving through the pile in the dining room. The light isn't great today (I think we're in for a bit more rain) but I'm just going to set up the phot lights I bought off of Amazon and keep on going! I also need to do some pic of GG because I am very delinquent on that!

I'm now enjoying the coffee that Liam roasted at 3:30 this morning. Yes, really. He's been saying for a few days now that we were getting low. Last night he feel asleep on the couch. The dogs woke him up at 3:30 and in his traverse through the kitchen he realized we were totally out... so he made some then... ?!? The smell of roasting coffee permeating the house woke me up. And the smoke alarm repeatedly going off KEPT me up. Ah, the joys of The North Estate, LOL.

Time to hop in the shower and get productive. Look for GG's thread later!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, I love to wrap packages too. Sadly I usually use gift bags now but sometimes I go all out. I was well known for putting the 1" jingle bells in everyone's Christmas gifts. My sister said when she cleaned out my nieces rooms after they graduated from college and moved away that both of them had a big stash of those jingle bells. Great idea to put a picture on your page with wrapped packages. I did check out your new stuff this afternoon. Very cool stuff.

That is great you picked up some things from the estate sale after prices dropped. That is too bad how the Big Brothers and Sisters picnic turned out but at least you got to meet her family and spend sometime with them.

I envision your lights something like the ones Marty got for his office. I feel like it's a studio now. Did you get lots of pictures taken today? I will go look for any new pictures of GG.

I don't drink coffee but it does smell good. Was the smoke alarm going off because of roasting coffee? That's hard to sleep through.

I didn't do much today. I have been on a cracked tooth diet all weekend - soft food. I think it broke right up to the root. It's only a dull ache but gets attention if I bite on it or brush it. Hoping to get in to the dentist tomorrow. Phooey.

I lifted, went through camera settings and think I figured out what setting to change so my scenery pictures aren't washed out. The only pictures I took today were of my clean car; Marty washed it yesterday for me. What a nice guy.

Marty grilled a sirloin cap roast today but I had him grill me a hamburger and I made a bag of steam and mash because I can eat mashed potatoes and ice cream okay. And little cheese balls or sticks as long as I don't try to chew them with my cracked tooth.

Take care.

Happy Monday kids!

Curby, the coffee roaster (which is an actual roaster, not just the air popcorn maker Liam used for a couple of years when he started roasting his own coffee, LOL) creates some "smoke" and a lot of fumes (for lack of a better word). I don't know which of those sets the alarm off, or maybe it's a combination of the two. He had at least one door open (the slider to the side deck) because I found it STILL open the next day, but it must not have been enough to get the air flowing. As for the lights I use in my photo taking process... I'm pretty low tech! In the beginning I ordered a pair of lights on stands, which were only about two feet tall so I had to put them on top of something anyway. The shade (or whatever you call that thing) was pretty big and they were just a big PITA so after the first one crapped out I just ditched them and got a couple of utility/work lights from home depot. The are really small and portable and also rechargeable so I'm not always looking for a place to plug them in. I can set them on the table or countertop and tilt them and they work just fine. I also saved the diffuser cover thingys from the original set of lights and I sometimes drape those over the utility lights if I need to cut down on the glare a bit. You know me -- MacGyver!

Yesterday I got pictures taken for some listings, but not as many as I would have liked because I had to do a lot of glass washing along the way. I've still got a backlog of about a dozen listings with the pics taken but they aren't written up or posted yet. I have three orders I need to pack up from the weekend. Normally I would have done this by now but I was just TIRED by last night and decided to save it until this morning.

I need to figure out the best was to clean GG. Because the stone isn't oiled or otherwise treated I think I have more options open than some other emeralds... but I'm still scared to screw it up, haha. Somewhere under the bathroom sink I have one of those dazzle sticks in the pink tube. I need to read up and see if that's OK to use. Because the bottom of the ring is closed (which I had Ilya do on purpose to negate any tilt window) I'll need to use the paint brushes I bought just for jewelry cleaning purposes to wiggle into the gallery and dry the stone when I'm done. That's OK though; a little extra work on the drying was worth it to me so I didn't have to worry about a window!

Ok, off to get those glasses packed up!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, i bet the roasting coffee beans smell great but darn it sets off the smoke detector. Glad you found the right lighting to use for your pictures. It's good to be a MacGyver! I'll get a picture of Marty's studio for you. With his latest lens he's had people from work and clients both call him back after a meeting and ask him what his setup is. His video does look great. I guess my new camera can't do live video output - well it can but you see the focus points and info on the screen. I'm working on mastering the million different settings first anyway.

Nice you have some orders to go out again. I am so glad this is fun for you and you are selling things. You have a lot of cool things. I need to get you a picture of some of the stuff that my mom had just so you can see it. If only I had a new camera to play with. And I am getting better with jewelry pictures.

Definitely find something that cleans emeralds so you don't hurt GG. Seems like Blitz has a gentle cleaner but not sure it works on emeralds. On my tiny emeralds I soak them in a little bit of Dawn dish water that seems to work well. Can you get a Qtip up the bottom of the ring? I use one to dry the bottom of my ovals and emerald cuts after I clean them since I can't get the microfiber cloth up there to dry them.

I am done with all my work already. Yay for MLB All Star Break. I do have a dentist appointment at 11 today. Woo hoo! It works out well the receptionist there likes me. Hopefully this only needs a crown not a root canal. We will see. I had V8 juice and a lightly toasted piece of sourdough. I'm hungry too! I should be able to eat some cheese this afternoon and maybe some ground beef tonight. Thank goodness for mashed potatoes and ice cream. Oooh maybe I'll go get a dish of cake batter ice cream from Cold Stone after the dentist.

Have a great day.

Hi Kids!

Another slow day at work. I have tomorrow off mostly because I am within 4 hours of maximum accrual again. Sounds like I’ll be taking days off here and there for my tooth anyway however that periodontist can’t see me until November. I called my dentist and let them know, I kind of hoped they would try and get me in earlier but instead I got a “oh well”. The root is kind of sore under the temp filling and it seems like my other teeth are having sympathy pains. Hope that gets better. Okay I’ll quit whining now.

Thunderstorms are in the forecast with golf ball sized hail. Hope I’m home before they arrive. Maybe I can get some lightning photos and try out the video on my camera.

I am thinking Reese’s PB cups are soft food. So far I haven’t ventured to our mini mart and bought one though.
Have a great day.

Happy Tuesday kids!

Curby, I'm sorry you can't get in to the periodontist until November. Ugh. I'm glad you're at least getting some ice cream and other good stuff out of the whole ordeal! Definitely keep taking all your hours. Giving them up would be an absolute tragedy. The new camera is amazing -- that picture of the lady bug is so perfect!!!

The drive in this morning was ok... about half way between the really good drive of last week and the normal drive of previous times. I'm sure it will continue to ratchet back up, and the road construction situation certainly doesn't help any.

When I get done here today I'm going to see if I'm motivated enough to walk over to the gym and check out some On Cloud tennis shoes in the shop there. That's the only store I can find locally that carries them and both Sister #1 and Sister #2 rave about them, but I'm reading they run narrow and my feet are wide so before I go ordering anything I might as well give them a try in person. I also need to run by Target and get some self tanner because I've been squeezing the last drops out the tube I have and let's just say I've achieved a rather spotty result by being skimpy! After that I should work on getting up some of the listings that I have photos for in my phone... but boy, the temptation to just go to bed early is BIG!

Alright, off to see if there are any cookies left in the kitchen. I had half a sandwich and chips a while ago but now I'm ready for something sweet!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, I can't believe I can't get in to the periodontist until November but not much I can do about it. I am printing out the stupid new patient forms today though and will get them fill out and in my car - that way if I get a call when there is a cancellation I'll be ready to go. Thanks for the compliments on my camera. I got 2 decent ring pictures this morning. I think I should resize the actual images; I have it set on fine and the actual images are something like 83 x 60 inches so that is blowing up a ring A LOT!!! I so agree it would be a tragedy and stupidity to give up vacation hours. Luckily I did take today off; I feel like someone ran over me last night. I think several days of off and on sleep plus not eating a lot caught up with me today. My motivation-o-meter seems broke.

Glad your drive in to work wasn't bad yesterday. Mine is usually 15 minutes going to work and 17 minutes coming home. Yesterday the in trip was several minutes longer; both lanes had big trucks in each lane that were having a go slow race. How rude! I did get the CurbyMobile up to 104 mph once I hit an open spot before turning in to work and that totally made my day.

Did you get some On Cloud tennis shoes? Do you like them? I have never heard of them before. I need new shoes and thought of working on that day but right now it sounds like too much work. I think I'll order Burgers from 5 Guys through Door Dash for lunch. Best do that now. That was quick. I love delivery to my door. My feet run wide too; seems like women's wide are too wide but men's normal are about right. I tried Hoka recently and like them. Most of my tennis shoes are Brooks.

It's very cloudy here today so I doubt I'll go try to get pictures in the park. If I get more energy after I get food maybe I'll brew up cookies. Funny you mentioned them because they do sound good.

Happy Wednesday kids!

Curby, I just LOVE the setting on the sapphire -- if you posted it before I totally don't remember. Senility at 50 is a terrible thing! The On Clouds absolutely did not work for me; wayyyy too narrow. I even tried them with just my little nylon footsies since I forgot to bring real socks and the display was my size I just tried to slip it on. Nope. So I ordered two new pairs of Brooks. I've been wearing the Levitate for years and it looks like I'll just keep on wearing them for now LOL.

I got quite a bit of work done yesterday! And after I got home I fixed the plastic pulley stick on the blackout curtains (I somehow managed to pull it off the last time I was downtown and had to get out the big step ladder to reach it) and then I put up thumbtacks with hooks every inch across the area above the electrical panel in my closet, which is absolutely wasted space, and hung up a bunch of necklaces. Of course if that panel ever needs to be opened the necklaces will have to be moved, but considering how infrequently that occurs I'm not concerned about it. Totally forgot to get any of the self tanner yesterday but I'll swing by a store that I know has it on my way back to the condo.

Liam and I area talking about having a yard sale, maybe next Thrs/Fri. If that becomes a reality I need to do A LOT of cleaning out! We have to have the sale when the ferals aren't there because much of what would go is their toys. Boys of 13 and 11 are never going to play with the stuff now in bins down in the basement, but they pitch a total b!tch whenever Liam says anything about taking anything to the Salvation Army. I can't imagine why he would even discuss it with them -- put the toys in the truck and GO! But whatever. Not my circus, not my monkeys.

Alright, off to print some more things. Ah; the joy of endless printing!

Dee Jay, I can't keep track of my rings so I understand why you wouldn't remember seeing one. I bought that oval sapphire at Christmas this year but had it on a setting with sideways baguettes. It was pretty but I wanted a chunkier band. I traded the ring in for this ring in February. I like it way better; although the PC settings make the oval look rectangle. It is my favorite ring right now; I wear it a lot. I like that oval salmon sapphire in the halo too but that all those prongs on the halo snag on my clothes. I have had good luck with Brooks shoes too but they have gotten narrower in the toes than they used to be. I need to get some new ones ordered myself.

Sounds like you were a regular MacGyver getting your blackout curtain fixed. I LOVE those things; wish I'd had them the first several decades of my life; I cannot sleep if there is light of any kind on in my room. We have blackout curtains and a blackout shade in our bedroom; it is pitch dark in there but now I can sleep in long after the sun rises. Woo hoo!!! Good idea to make a spot to hang necklaces. Those are such a pain to keep in a box because the chains will get tangled. My last few necklaces have a wheat chain; it seems strong but flexible so it doesn't seem to knot up like other chains I've had.

Did you pick up some self tanner? I noticed I had a slight sunburn from one of our trips to the park. Ooh I look rosy instead of pale.

Good idea to have a garage sale when the ferals aren't there. I agree those boys are not going to play with their old toys but of course they don't want to give them up. They probably wouldn't even notice. I remember my parents showing up pretty much right after we got married with my "stuff" that was in my old bedroom or basement. Get rid of that junk!

I feel way better after eating lunch today. I plan on lifting as soon as Marty heads to the gym: I am sure he wouldn't appreciate my clanging around barbells while he is on a conference call.

I did get my August article for the local newspaper ready today. Woo hoo!!!! August is an easy topic - there is always a nice meteor shower that month and this year the moon won't interfere.

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, did you buy either of those spinel

As you can tell I started my morning off by having a curbing incident. Marty said this is why we can’t have nice things. Then while eating breakfast I thought my temp crown came off and I must have swallowed it. I looked in the mirror but didn’t really know what it looked like so I went to the dentist. Turns out it was fine. It looked very similar to a filling, last temp I had was gold. Oh well. I topped off my gas tank while I was out and came back to work. Now I’m waiting for lunch and wondering if I can eat my steak sandwich. If I take small bites I should be fine. I brought a homemade cocoa brownie it should be soft.

I need to lift tonight after work but may pick up an Arby’s roast beef sandwich on the way home. It’s wrapped in foil so should stay warm long enough.

We had lots Of rain last night and thunderstorms are predicted today. I guess the storm last Friday had 4” hail once it reached Nebraska.

I am more awake today. Yay!
