Healthy Living Thread

Hi Kids!

John, I’m with Dee Jay, booze might help my wrist or maybe I won’t care as much. It’s slightly better today.

Dee Jay, that is too bad the harmonica was an irritant to your migraine. Isn’t that amazing how different sounds can do that? We were in the furniture store this afternoon and some little girl sound exactly like a firework going off. We all did a double take - what’s that? I am glad you are doing better.

I bet that was quite a story how the minivan ended up in the post office. We get those kind of things here too. Usually alcohol, speed or health related.

How did the family room clean up go? I swiffered the floor a few times, it sounded crunchy. Marty kept traipsing in from the observatory. I did get laundry done and did my gym bookkeeping for February. My new spreadsheet worked great. It didn’t take me more than five minutes.

We went to a Mexican restaurant for lunch then went recliner shopping. There was one called the “beast” that was HUGE. I bet if I sat in it, my feet would be 2 feet off the floor and I’d need two throw pillows behind my back. Marty finally picked a leather Lazyboy and we got a rocker recliner in the same leather. They’ll be here in about 3 months.

There’s a blizzard heading our way tomorrow. I have a haircut in the morning, I hope the snow doesn’t start until later tomorrow.

Hi

Marcy, I'm sorry that my method didn't help you, can you tell me when your wrist hurts? For example, when the weather is cold, or in the middle of the night, or when the wrist is involved in a lot of work.

Dee Jay,I'm so glad you've had less migraine.

Have a great weekend!

Just checking in let you know I'm still alive... but currently in accounting hell. WTF? Am I not RETIRED?! But these small organizations that I'm doing the books for are messed up in all sorts of ways (some interesting, some just terrifying, haha) and I need to get everything over to the tax preparers ASAP.

Will be back to our regularly scheduled programming soon!

Hi! I’m checking in alive too. I made it to the office today. This is the first day I’ve been out of the house since Feb 24. I think I had flu and not Covid because of how fast it hit me. I was at work and fine on the 24th and by afternoon, I was full on sick. Matt ended up with it too, so our house has been one big Petri dish of germs.

Marcy-wow! That picture of the nebula was really cool. I had to look that up to remind myself what it was. I loved astronomy in college, but that was way too long ago.

Dee*Jay-that was wild pic of the vehicle in the post office. I always wonder how those things happen. Around here it’s usually a medical issue.

Back to work. I’ve got a meeting in an hour and then I’m heading home. Well, to the grocery store, eye dr, AND THEN home. I’m not sure I have the energy for those stops.

Happy Saturday kids!

Curby, the family room cleanup went... uh... NOWHERE, LOL. But hope springs eternal. The story with the unexpected creation of the new post office drive through is that the person though the minivan was in park and didn't realize it was still in drive. I'm sure there's more to it, but those are all the details I got. At least no one was hurt (which is a miracle!). Lay-Z-Boy styles have come a long way. I remembere when they were just these big clunky things in the corner where you'd park dear old uncle Henry after Thanksgiving dinner and now they are super stylish. I wouldn't mind one if we weren't already bursting at the seams with furniture.

DeeGee, are you and Matt all better now? The flu is AWEFUL. In December of 2019/January 2020 I had it so bad I didn't get out of bed for six days. I really thought I might die, and Liam did too. When I finally did into the office my boss took one look at me and siad, "You go home NOW." And I stayed in bed for another six days. Does Ruby stay by your side when you're sick? Dogs really can tell when something's wrong. We're fast approaching May... how's the retirement plan going?

I've got a whole week to catch up on...

The accounting adventure continues. I discovered that if a certain setting is turned on in Quckbooks that program will automatically assign check numbers to electronic payments. This little bit of accoutning fabulousness came to my attention around midnight one night when I was reconciling last month's bank statement. There was a "check number" assigned to something that I knew couldn't be right because that number was on a check that had just been written. I was like... WTF?!? And so it began. Rabbit hole, meet Dee!!!

Sales have been slow... but the inventory accumulation continues! Yesterday I went to a sale and bought service for THIRTY TWO in a pattern that has probably been my best seller over the years. I totally kicked myself though becuase I missed out on three sizes of the matching glasses by moments. Argh -- if I just hadn't hit that snooze button one additional time!!! Oh well, as I keep reminding myself, I don't need EVERYTHING.

A friend of a friend just bought a building that is allegedly chock full of my kind of stuff (Pfaltzgraff, much of it in the original boxes, glass kitchen canisters, etc.) and I'm going there tomorrow to check things out. If you see a U--Haul truck cruising down the highway laden down with the weight of old glass and dishes you'll know it's me!

This morning I ran by the local auction and determined in about ten minutes there wasn't a single thing worth staying to bid on. Now I'm having a lunch of one big cup of coffee and four chocolate Oreos with the filling scraped off. I know it's unAmerican, but I just cannot stand Oreo filling. The only exception is mint Oreos. But the regular ones, chocolate ones, and all the other ones... NOPE. If I were on a desert island with nothing to eat but double stuff Oeros I'd just get in the water and start swimming for the horizon.

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, do you want to take over Marty’s accounting? Fine, I’ll keep doing it. What a pain about the check numbers. I have a OLD version of Quicken and keep waiting for it to quit working. The Lazy Boy chairs seemed quite comfy. We’ve only got one furniture store in town that sells decent to high-end furniture. They used to sell Flexsteel but switched to all American made furniture. All of their wooden pieces are Amish. I swear the Amish bedroom set we got will last centuries. Marty can barely lift the nightstands.

I bet the car accident where the car was left in park happens frequently. Good deal no one was hurt.

And the family room will wait. I’ll bet you come home with a huge stash from your friend’s new building. I’ll be anxious to hear what treasures you find.

To improve Oreos, remove the frosting and add a dab of peanut butter. Way better ….

Deegee, I am glad you and Matt finally feel better after having a nasty flu virus. Did Ruby snuggle and keep you both company? Any word from WF on your ring?

I’ve just been working, playing with my new toy and watching TV. We met the drinkers for lunch yesterday but only split one bottle of wine between the four of us. The other two drinkers didn’t join us since they are on vacation. We’ll send them a picture though.

Not a fan of “spring forward” today. I feel like I polished off two bottles of wine last night.

Dee*Jay- did you find anything good in the building your friend bought? I checked your store last night and you take such good pictures! Makes me want to buy!! I don’t need anything though. I’m trying to get rid of stuff, not get more. This flu has kicked my butt. The day I wired money to Whiteflash for my new ring, I went to the office since it is right across the street from the bank. Only 28 employees out of 100 were there because everyone was out with flu or covid. I guess that’s where I picked it up.

Marcy-I bought a flexsteel couch and by the time it came in, we had moved to our current house and that couch was way too small for the family room. It’s in Matt’s study now. We have one store that sells nice brands. Matt bought an Ekornes stressless custom chair from Norway from there. It took forever to come in, but he sure loves that chair. I got my ring on Friday! I haven’t taken any good pictures because it has been so dreary and rainy here. Maybe tomorrow.

Ruby has been snuggling with us and comforting us, bless her little heart. We have both felt bad that we hadn’t been able to walk her. She has so much energy! She’s been running the stairs to work some of it off. We did get to the park today for a walk. We were tired when we got home, but Ruby ran upstairs for a toy and we played fetch for a good hour. Endless energy. I’m planning to go to the office tomorrow, so fingers crossed have enough energy to make it through the whole day.

Hi Kids!

Deegee, darn that you probably caught the flu at the office. Sorry it was such a rough one. When we went to the retirement home a few weeks ago they warned us as we came in there was corona virus in the facility. I told Marty he was screwed. I rarely catch things though.

Do you love your new ring? I'll be anxious to see the pictures.

Bless Ruby's heart for keeping you and Matt company. Pets know when you need their company. I hope work isn't too rough tomorrow.

I got pictures of the sun and moon today. Yay. I am quite pleased with the moon shot. I did lift tonight with less weight on the bar. It irritated my wrist (which was about 90% better) but not too bad. I'll see how it is tomorrow.

Happy Tuesday kids!

Curby, that's BRILLIANT about replacing the Oreo filling with peanut butter! Chocolate and peanut butter is my favorite combo and I take that over anything else when the opportunity presents! I did see an instagram post where you can make little "cars" out of Twinkies with mini Oreo wheels and put Peeps in driving them and I think I'm going to try that for an Easter post on Instgram. In the middle of the night I ordered a CPL filter attachment for my phone. It allegedly helps with glare so maybe it will improve my pictures becuase that's a big problem -- as you can imagine!

Deegee, we are all eagerly awaiting the ring on Friday! Pics ASAP -- no excuses! Wow... SO many people out with the flu. I have to say, since I don't interact with as many people now that I'm retired I get a lot less crud. WHERE do young dogs get all that energy?! If we could somehow bottle it we'd be able to fuel the whole world into infinity!

So the guy with friend with the building took all the stuff to his OTHER building (he's got a manufacturing business) and laid it out on tables in the kitchen. It was frankly a lot less then he made it out to be. Other people's definition of "a ton of stuff" in often a vast understatement in terms of MY definition, LOL. Somehow I ended up agreeing to buy it all, and I went back yeterday and packed it up. Miraculously, I got it all in my Audi, which I was really glad about because I didn't want to make another trip. So now I've got yet more stuff spread throughout the house that I won't get to for several years. Ugh.

The cleaning of the family room actually got underway last night! No idea what happened, but around eight o'clock I got a burst of energy and started going through stuff. Sadly, it didn't make much of a dent... but at least it's a start!

I need to take some pics tomorrow and then go downtown on Thurs to do my best friend's taxes.

As you can see, the excitement continues to ABOUND here at The North Estate.

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, PB and chocolate cookies are a good combo. Leave it to me to figure something like that out. I’ve seen that Twinkies idea. And if you don’t eat them all, they’ll last forever. I hope the filter helps cut the glare on your pictures. I always find the best light is on cloudy days, it just depends what I am taking pictures of though. I was going to dig out my camera and zoom lens tonight to get a picture of Venus and Mercury but it was too cloudy to bother.

At least you got everything from your friend’s building in the Audi. I’d doubt you could have done that with all the goodies my mom had. She had an impressive collection - or lots of loot as my dad would have said.

Yay for starting on the family room. One little corner of the world at a time.

Is it really only Wednesday? I am still tired from the time change. I fixed supper at 4 p.m. thinking it was far later. So now I’m hungry already.

The excitementometer is registering at minus 0.

dee*jay- sorry you didn’t get a uhaul load of stuff, but I hope you got some good stuff in your Audi load! I keep forgetting that I’m supposed to be intermittent fasting. I drink a hot tea with a squirt of Splenda in the mornings and then I remember. How is Liam’s skin issue doing?

Marcy-great pics again! I hope you and Marty avoided getting sick. I had a bad case of pneumonia in college and I get really sick at least once a year. This flu was much worse than the last time I had Covid. I do really like my new ring, but I probably love my sapphire a bit more. Good thing I can wear one on each hand and be happy!

I turned in my notice for last day of work as June 13. My replacement has been hired, and now I’m getting excited! I need to start going to the office to do some training. So far this week I’m 0-4 in getting there. I’m really going to try again tomorrow. I’ll post pics of my ring later. I’m at the salon and it’s time for her to rinse the dye. Later!

Happy Thursday kids!

Curby, you've become a household word here at The North Estate! Every time we go outside at night and seem some bright thing in the sky Liam, YF or I will say, "We should ask Curby what that is." A littttttttle more progress has been made in the family room... but not very much...

DeeGee -- JUNE 13!!!!! AWESOME! I finally took off the five pounds I brought back with me from the three ski trips this winter, so now I'm at my low again (this time, anyway!). I keep thinking I should start walking outside or -- gasp! -- even rejoin the gym... but it hasn't happened yet.

Today I took a painful drive into the city to do my friend's taxes. Then we had a late lunch at a place we only go to once a year (after taxes LOL). And I had a doubly painful drive back out of the city. More than five hours in the car today. Ack.

Alright, need to put the sheets back on the bed and unload/reaload the dishwasher. My Thrill-O-Meter is definitely stuck in the red!

My old stone was a 1.3ct H si1 AGS ideal ACA. By the numbers, it should have been a gorgeous stone. I compared the stats on a bunch of diamonds, and this one came up with the best result. It was a stinker. I should have returned if, but instead I reset it a bunch of times. I wore my sapphire for the last few years instead of my ering. When I pulled it out after 2 years, it was still a stinker! New stone-didn’t think about it. Didn’t even compare it to others. It has a great number on the cut advisor, but the stats-the measurements- aren’t as good as my last stone. Anyway, this one outperforms the old one in every way. Non stop sparkle. It’s 2.19ct J VS1 set in platinum.

DeeGee -- WOW! :kiss2: What a sparklebomb! Now you've got TWO fab rings!

Hi Kids!

Deegee, your ring and diamond are STUNNING That's going to be very distracting driving in sunlight. Enjoy that beautiful ring! And congratulations on turning in your bye bye see ya later notice. Sweet. I should make you a card like I did for Dee Jay. I'll see if I can find it. That time'll come soon and yet seem to never get here. I hope your replacement pays better attention than mine did. She eventually got fired and I heard from other people regularly they were having a miss Marcy day.

Dee Jay, you're just going to have to text me when you're out looking at the sky and see if I can help. I am glad you are looking. Glad that's why you guys are mentioning me instead of that stupid @#$$%^^&&& on Pricescope. Woo hoo for being at your low weight. I've been trying to not snack, I still haven't found our scale. Why was the drive to town painful? Or was it just the drive? I'm waiting to hear what damages our taxes will cause this year. Hopefully we don't have to take out a loan ...

I slept through the eclipse last night because it was more cloudy than not. There were a few sucker holes though that the allsky camera caught the moon during totality. We had some snow and rain this morning, just briefly though. Then the wind came calling. Marty ordered a weather station for the observatory that arrives tomorrow. I'll be interested to see our wind speeds. It'll be hooked up to the automation on the observatory and shut the roof if it rains or snows. Or stop taking pictures if it gets cloudy.

Here's the clouds, stars and eclipse shot from last night.

Happy Saturday kids!

Curby, the drive into town was painful because traffic is just SO bad. Plus, my friend lives in a place that I have to take one highway south into the city, get off and use surface streets to get on another highway going north, and then use surface streets the rest of the way to her house. And she wonders why I don't visit more! We're channeling Wyoming here with the wind. Last night it was ridiculous -- I swear the house was MOVING. It's pretty breezy today too, but nothing like it was.

I finally decided I'm going to have to take my Pinterest posting into my own hands. Last night I figured out the basics of how to pin, and also realized that the pins Social Media Mary put up are screwed up in that if you click on something that's been sold (and isn't that the goal?!) it takes to you Page Not Found instead of just back to my website in general. So my plan is to watch a "class" by someone who's allegedly a great teacher on all things Pinterest, fix SM Mary's screwed up posts, and then put up some new ones. As you know, social media is not my forte so wish me luck!

Our latest and greatest theory on Liam's malady is that it's a gluten reaction. I've been making gluten free things for dinner and I yell at him every time he gets weak and is like, "Onnnnnnnne Twinkie won't hurt." I guess it could take up to a month for his body to detox to see if this is really the problem. We'll see if he makes it that long or if the Twinkies win!

I had a dream last night that Sister #2 and I were on a ski trip and she was kidnapped. I wan't happy with the lack of progress on getting her back so I decided to rescue her myself. I took a shopping cart. ??? My analysis is that I was just planning ahead: get her back and then we could go shopping. See -- even in my sleep I PLAN! I guess it's possible I thought I might have to bring her back in the shopping cart, but I prefer to think we were going to Bloomingdales after.

Alright, off to the post office and then to become a social media maven LOL.

Marcy-I was outside with Ruby for her last bathroom break before bed about an hour or two before the eclipse, and all I could see were clouds. I didn’t get back up later to see if I could see anything. The weather station for your observatory sounds really cool! What a fancy setup you have!! Officially giving my last work day was very freeing. Working through that date gives me exactly 25 years of retirement service credit, which is the magic number to get the lowest retiree insurance premium. My insurance is going to take a huge chunk of my monthly benefit, but it’s great to have that insurance. My replacement will be fine. He’s an assistant department manager now and we have worked together a lot. He’ll pick it up pretty fast.

Dee*Jay- maybe my retirement job should be taking care of social media for people. It’s a shame your person is pretty lousy at it. What a headache! That’s interesting by about a possible gluten allergy for Liam. I need to ask mom if she’s tried eliminating certain foods. One of my former employees developed a severe wheat allergy all of a sudden at age 36. Not gluten…just wheat. She was a mess and was still trying to deal with it when she left out agency. I don’t think I could handle the traffic in your area. My commute is 25 minutes of moving traffic, and I still whine about having to go slow through the school zone.

Thanks for your nice comments about my new ring. I know diamond prices are falling and I should have waited, but I’m sure enjoying it and it’s only money, right? I made it to the office today after avoiding it all week last week. The only nice thing I can say about this place is that it has excellent jewelry lighting. My diamond is super sparkly! I am so shocked at the difference since my last stone was an ACA too. People say you can’t go wrong with them, but I’m here to say yes you can indeed go wrong! We went to mom’s Saturday to celebrate her 87th birthday, and one of my sisters grabbed my hand to look at my ring. She said she noticed it sparkling really bright from across the room and thought I had cleaned it. Then she realized it was a different stone. My other sister rolled her eyes and left the room. Time to get back to work after lunch. Have a great evening!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, we were stuck behind an accident in Denver for over an hour coming home yesterday. Traffic was crawling along. I’m not used to that much traffic or traffic jams. I didn’t send you Wyoming wind, we’ve still got it. We went to Denver yesterday and saw trailers and semis tipped over on the side of the road. I told Marty to set up weather alerts on his weather system like “Freaking windy” but with a more colorful first word.

I am sure you’ll be running your social media posts just fine. That lady wasn’t doing much for you.

Good luck to Liam finding out what’s going on. I ate plain white rice for about 8 months once and could introduce one food for about 3 days to see what - if any - reaction I had to it. Then combos of things could trigger a response. I tend to stick with only a few things that I know don’t bother me. Good thing ice cream and chocolate aren’t on the don’t touch that list.

What a dream about your sister. At least you planned ahead for shopping.

Deegee, that’s great to hit the 25 year mark and get low premiums on insurance. My dad was a Union Pacific Railroad retiree and he (and my mom) had fantastic retiree health insurance. Nice that your replacement will do fine.

The gluten allergies are something. From what I understand, people with it can go to Europe and eat all sorts of things and it doesn’t bother them at all. One of my nephews developed that and he sure gets sick if he eats something with gluten.

I am so glad your new ACA is superb and a sparkler. All the stats in the world can’t predict exactly how well a stone will perform. I’ve had stinkers with great stats and performers with so-so stats or none at all. Sometimes, you just have to see for yourself. I did take my ring collection in Sunday to get cleaned and checked. Two rings had loose or missing accent diamonds, another one had loose diamonds and I turned in my pink sapphire studs to get regular posts instead of the screw backs they had on them. They take so long (and my collection takes a while to clean and check) so I left my bracelets, pendants and other earrings home. It was a good thing because we had to meet my family for a birthday dinner at 2 p.m. and we didn’t get out of there until after 1 sometime.

I doubt I would have got up to see the total eclipse in the middle of the night. The last one I got up for was at about 4 a.m. and I just peaked through the window to see it.

The birthday dinner was fun. We ate at Olive Garden. Then Marty wanted to head to Micro Center to get some stuff for the observatory. I got a new monitor while we ere there. It’s slightly smaller than the one I was using (I run them laptop through a larger monitor for work) but this one has great color and better resolution. It took up far less space on my desktop too. Yay.

It took us over 3 hours to get home since we sat behind that accident for so long.

Happy rainy Wednesday kids!

DeeGee, I’ve got a day counter going for you – only 87 days to go! OMG – YES!!!!! You should totally start a little social media consulting firm. I will be your first and best customer! Let me know when you want the log ins to my Etsy, Ebay, Shopify, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and website and I will email them to you so fast there will be flames shooting off the message. LOL on whining about the school zone. I would PAY to only have to deal with a school zone on my drive into the city. I am not surprised your new diamond performs differently than your old one. I’ve learned over the years to buy the stone and not the paper. Frankly, I’ve got stones (diamonds and colored) and other people would not have even considered for one second but *to my eye* they are wonderful.

Curby, if there’s an accident on my way into/out of the city I just pull over and have my mail forwarded to that spot because that’s about how long it’s going to take to get beyond the problem. My friend had to do the BRAT diet for a long time, trying to figure out what was going on with him. He eventually gave up – he’s not the type to live on bananas and rice, ha ha! Now things are better for him, but not perfect, and he’s just learned to avoid the super trigger foods. Were they able to switch out the posts on your pink sapphire studs right then or do you have to pick them up next time you’re there? I had a bracelet repaired at a local jewelry out here because the clasp flippy thingy (VERY technical jewelry term!) was really loose and I wanted something more secure and when I went to pick it up they had misplaced it. It was eventually found, but I won’t be going back there again.

No idea where this week is going… Monday I took listing pics. Yesterday I did a bunch of accounting and spent two hours on zoom calls. Let night we were going out for Cheap Chicken Tuesday (our favorite wings place is half price on Tuesday nights) but they are closed for an expansion so we went to Buffalo Wild Wings instead. Liam ordered nachos thinking that was a safe choice. Corn chips, queso, chicken, jalapenos, etc. Wellllllll… a little while after we left there his hands were all swollen and stiff. Something in that dish had gluten and we have no idea what. Such a bummer too because we were going to add that to the list of places we could go and get him something he’d enjoy. Sigh.

When I got home I washed up about 200 pieces of those dishes I’d gotten at the estate sale a week or so ago. And then I have no idea what happened, but suddenly it was two o’clock in the morning!

Today is dreary and miserable. I’ll have to go to the post office at some point, and I now have the last piece of into for my 2024 taxes so I might run that by the accountant since I’ll be out anyway. Other than that, nothing much to report!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, the eye is a better judge than stats on a piece of paper. That’s why we all have pretty jewelry. I am surprised they had your friend eat bananas, that can be a trigger food sometimes. I did great with the rice and introducing one food at a time for months. Best diet ever too. I dropped weight like crazy. Then my birthday arrived and I ate what I wanted and to this day I still can’t stand plain white rice. The jeweler will FedEx my jewelry to me. I should get them Saturday or Monday. That is awful they lost your bracelet for a while. I am glad they found it. My 4-carat bracelet has a really tight clasp, but that’s probably a good thing.

How awful Liam had a reaction to dinner. I took gastracrhome for a while to counter food reactions, it helped. I got to the point though I didn’t eat things that triggered a reaction so I quit taking it. I hope he figures it all out soon.

Washing up 200 pieces of dishes must take a while.

We had enough snow to make things icy. A piece (I think it’s trim) got knocked loose by the wind on the observatory. The wind continues to be awful. Once Marty gets his weather station running on the observatory I told him I am making up weather alerts for it to send out. And the two for wind are - it’s freaking windy - and you’ve got to be freaking kidding …

Not much new or different here. I did get another picture of the sun today, but didn’t venture outside tonight in the cold and wind.

Laters,

Happy Saturday kids!

Curby, interesting about the gastrachrome. I hate to even mention the possiblity of a med that could mitigate the bad reactions to Liam because I'd rather he just do the responsible thing and avoid the gluten, at least until we're sure that's what the problem is. I know him -- if there's an easy work-around that will let him keep eating crap he'll take it! LOL on the weather alerts! I have a funny app on my phone that gives ironic and swear-y weather assessments, but I can't find it at the moment. Maybe I deletd it at some point.

The second half of the week wore me out! I won a bunch of glass at Wednesday night's auction so I picked that up on Thursday. Yesterday I took pics and got more stuff queued up for today in the hopes that there wouldn't be anything at the local acution I deemed worth waiting around for -- which turned out to be the case. Now all that is photographed and stored away and I'm ready to lather, rinse, repeat with more. I successfully avoided an estate sale that started yesterday with some glass I would have taken at the right price, but more importantly, two big sets of dishes I wouldn't have been able to resist if I'd seen them in person . I even had my alarm set for the a$$ crack of dawn yesterday... and turned it off and didn't go. Yay me!

We had dinner with the chief investment officer from my last job and his wife. It was a ball! Now that spring is here maybe we'll socialize a little more with other humans, ha ha.

I need to kick things into high gear for my store becuase I've got three trips and a five day show with the cowhide bag lady between now and the first of May. All this traveling sounds like a good idea until I realize how much I have to have prepped in advance!

On the social media front, I'm committed to Pinterest. I've watched enough videos at this point that I feel relatively comfortable with what I'm doing. And frankly it is absolutely free advertising so I'd be a fool not to take advantage of it because there's only updside.

Alright off to do one of two exciting things: listing and social media sh!t or accounting sh!t for one of the organizations. With choices like that I'm tempted to put a third choice -- NAP! -- on the list, but will try to avoid that... for a while at least.

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, I don’t know if gastrochrome helps with gluten issues, but it did counter some bad attacks I had from food allergies. Some things will swell my throat.

Yay for not going to an estate sale. Think of the dishes it saved you from washing. Nice that Pinterest is free and your can’t be free advertising. I imagine most of the social media sites are pretty easy to use.

How nice to have dinner with your former boss and his wife. I was considering inviting people over for dinner tonight but our house cleaner was here this morning so I decided we’d head to the nearby steak house for dinner instead.

Your dance card is full for the next few weeks.

I am yawning now and it’s almost 4:30. I had insomnia so bad Wednesday night that.I was shot on Thursday. I skipped lifting that day thinking I was too tired to do that. At least I slept Thursday and Friday night.

Marty was out on a ladder in our high wind today putting up our weather station, but it’s up and online. It needs adjusting since it says it’s clear and it definitely not and rain is supposedly coming in. I’m sure he’ll figure it out.

Happy Sunday kids!

Curby, yikes to Marty being up on the ladder in the high wind! Did he see a little girl on a bike with a dog in the basket fly by? I can hear the wind outside right now here. I'm blaming you. :cheeky: Insomnia is the worst; it always leaves me reeling and disoriented. It must be catching becuase I couldn't sleep last night either, and when I woke up early this monring (like 6:45) I was CONVINCED it was Monday and I couldn't figoure out why Liam hadn't taken YF home the night before because now he was going to be late for school. It was the weirdest thing -- I would have bet a mllion dollars it was Monday.

I've done a pretty good job on the listing front these past few days (although I had to stop about half way through today because it got very gray and then it started to rain. What I haven't done a good job of this weekend is any accounting. Oops. I'll be starting that as soon as I post this.

We had two good meals today (hamburger and veggie stir fry for lunch and pork chops for dinner) so I've got leftovers for lunch the next two days. I'm trying hard to drop another pound or two before I get on the plane on Thursday to go see #2. I always come back from a trip with her up a bit so I'll be lucky to be back where I am in two weeks... just in time for the NEXT trip. Maybe when the weather gets nice I'll start walking again. Of course I can always talk myself out of that, saying the hour I spend trekking through the neighborhood is one I could also spend cleaning up inside... but... !!!

Alright, off to open up QuickBooks and see what magic is lurking there for me tonight.

Hi Kids.

Dee Jay, LOL to Marty seeing a girl on a bike with a dog in a basket in that wind. I sent him his video and he won't watch it. Don't blame me for your wind, I've still got mine.

Yep, insomnia sucks and it is even worse when you can't remember what day it is. I suffer that issue as well. Plus, I've decided I am way too busy for a retired person. I am never getting things done on time. I either work or goof off. I sent Marty a meme I found during lunch today about a guy got a call from a kidnapper saying $30,000 or you'll never see your wife again. He said it was a tough choice but he'll take the $30,000. Marty's response was do you know how nice of a telescope I could buy with $30,000? What a brat!

I've been seeing your listings on Facebook and try to remember to forward them. The images are looking good. I have my monthly accounting task coming up as well.

Have fun on your upcoming adventures.

I am almost done with the last of the 10-book series I spend time reading on the weekends. I'll have to find another series to start.

I did try to knit a bit this week. Four rows worked fine. I went back 2 rows later and the second row called me dirty names. I might have told you that already. But it still makes me sad.

We had a few nights of aurora teasers. The allsky camera caught it mostly on the NE horizon. I tried to see it last night, but it was at best a glow on the horizon. I did take three shots last night of some open clusters in one constellation. Not bad for poor seeing conditions.

Marty had one of this components in observatory turn red hot and start smoking. Glad he was out there trying to figure out what was wrong. Makes me a bit nervous.

Hi Kids!

It’s snowing here tonight. We had rain last night and we sure needed the moisture.

Marty got my mini-me telescope set up on a mount in his observatory. We need clear skies so he can polar align it, then I’m ready to go.

We had our astronomy meeting last night and tomorrow I need to get the April newsletter ready. I plan on brewing up some beef noodle soup. It sounds good for a snowy day.

Quick fly-by from Connecticut. Sister #2 and I have been drinking, eating, drinking, shopping, drinking... oh... and drinking. :cheeky: Will post more later, but wanted to let you know I was alive!

Dee Jay, so I take it you’ve been drinking.

I think I’d like sister #2.

Happy Wednesday kids!

Curby, you and #2 would get on like a house on fire! The three of us could get in MUCH MUCH trouble together!!! Did Marty fix the red hot component problem? That's so scary! Did you find another series to start? I spent a big chunk of time in the airport trying to find some new audio books. I swear, I spend more time looking for things to download than I do actually listening to them LOL.

Time to a big catch-up! I helped one of the estate sale ladies a few days last week and I'm heading back up tomorrow to price things. People have NO IDEA how much work does into getting ready for a sale. It's utterly exhausting. Then I went to CT and #2 and I just hung out and ate and drank way too much. We also got pedicures and did a little light shopping. I bought some new sunglasses (after much prodding from #2) that are so expensive I'm afraid to even take the price tag off, let alone wear them!

Yesterday I had to slam out a bunch of pictures. I also need to stockpile some listings since we're going to New Mexico next week. I've got a busy month or so coming up with all the travel. Just thinking about it wears me out...

Today I'm catching up on laundry and I COMMITTED to cleaning up the family room since it's raining and gray and no way pictures could come out in this terrible light. I also need to pick up more bubble wrap, but I'll save that for this afternoon on my way back from the post office.

Alright, off to see what else I can reloacate from up here into the storage room downstairs. At some point THAT is going to get full too, and then I don't know what I'm going to do LOL.

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, getting in trouble kind of sounds like fun. Then I'd need a week to recover, if not longer.

Marty got a free replacement board but has not found a security camera with a smoke detector yet. You'd think those would be plentiful.

I have not found a new series to read yet. I agree, it takes forever to pick something new to read. I should try some audio books, I fear my attention span would not work well with them, that's because my mind wanders. TV is usually noise to me, then something catches my attention and I have to back it up to see what I missed. I posted on Facebook that my attention span is so bad that I never wait long enough for logging in with Face ID. So I have to do it again and try not to turn away.

You are nice to help the estate sale lady price things. Do you get first pick that way and get a discount? That's great you had a nice time in CT. I hope it continues in NM. I get it about expensive sunglasses. When I was wearing contacts, I resisted anything more than Target specials since I lost them or broke them all the time. I finally cracked and picked up some pricey sunglasses (yes I paid for them) at the Sunglass Hut about a month before I quit wearing contacts. To this day, I get my prescription sunglass lenses put in them every year.

You need another storage room. Ha Ha. We still haven't unpacked everything we shoved in our RV when we had to de-personalize our house to put it on the market. And I have NO idea where we'd put it anyway.

Not much exciting going on here. Wind, snow, rain and work. I was considering trying to knit a few rows tonight but my wrist started calling me names about 2 p.m. today. Sometime copying and posting for hours on end gets it going. I'd say it's fine 85% of the time. Woo hoo! An improvement.

Porsche sent me an email urging me to buy a new car now before tariffs kick in. Seems like i paid a huge import fee on both Macans anyway. I'm at 17,000 miles on the Curbymobile. I'm keeping it.
