Healthy Living Thread

Hi Kids!

We stayed up a bit later than normal so we both slept in a bit. Marty is zonked out on the couch right now and I don't foresee him going too far from it the rest of the day.

Some friends are coming over later today and it was going to be Marty's birthday party, but since he never cared much for the birthday attention and now his brother's funeral was that day he actually said he doesn't want to ever have another birthday. I let me friend know not to bring a card or gift for him. And cake is fine but don't decorate it or bring candles. Her parents are clients at the gym so they may come over too.

I threw out some more clothes today. I really need to find some cardigans or zip up sweatshirts that fit. That would require going shopping though.

I tried to look at the sun earlier but the tripod mount on the solar scope was really loose so I decided to put it up until I can get Marty to fix it. The grip on the tripod is so large my tiny hands can't manipulate it very well. I thought I'd quit while the scope was in one piece. Speaking of which, I'll get those links sent to you for the YF. There is a contact form on the website he can submit his email to if he wants to be added to my distribution lists. It is a few emails such as the new newsletter is posted, breaking astronomy news, or what you can see in the sky this month.

I am debating whether to do some of the busy work work today. Depends on if we run any errands.

Laters,
Curby

Happy Saturday kids!

Curby, thank you so much for sending those links! I'll tell him about it over dinner because he and OF are deeply involved in some sort of game release thing and their attention is fully focused. Frankly fine with me -- they are being verrrrry quiet and not killing each other! Poor Marty with the lousy timing of his birthday and his brother passing. I'd skip it too if I were him. I love sweaters and zip up hoodies! When we were in Orlando there was one at the Calvin Klein outlet that I liked, but even on sale it was still $79 so I took a pass. No of course I wish I'd gotten it!

This morning Liam picked up YF and OF, dropped them off and the headed to an auction somewhere. I went to the location auction, walked around, and got back in my car and came home. That's only the second time I've done that! There was a big table of really nice glass in the middle, but it takes For.Ev.Er. to get to that point and the two guys who bid big against me on glass were their so I made the executive decision. And of course there was one table... in very last row... that had a set of uranium tumblers I would have taken if I could get them cheap, but again, For.Ev.Er. to get there! So I've taken pics for four listings and done some other useful things. A pretty productive day!

No idea what is going to happen from a dinner standpoint, but I expect a call from Liam any time asking me what MY plan is for that, LOL. After dinner though I need to get some stuff washed up for a big photo session tomorrow. Now that the days are getting longer I have a little more time in the afternoons before the sun hits a bad point around the side of the house. I guess that's the upside to fall!

Off to contemplate some cheese and crackers... and maybe a glass of wine. It's not like I'm going anywhere...

Dee Jay, I hope the YF finds some of those links useful. I am always eager to encourage interest in astronomy.

That would make me nervous the ferals are quiet but then again computer games will do that.

Yes, I am sure Marty will never enjoy his birthday again. One of my nephews has a birthday on the day my mother died. Pretty sucky.

Darn you didn't pick up that sweater. My order from Land's End showed up. The three vests fit great and the new cardigan is quite nice. I ordered 3 more colors of it at their 50% off price. The sweater in tan wasn't on sale so I skipped it for now. Then I needed a bit more to get free shipping so I ordered a flannel shirt on sale too. I should be good for a while now.

Darn the glass table was so busy this morning. Sometimes it's just not worth the wait. You were productive anyway.

Good luck with the photo shot tomorrow. Cheese, crackers and wine sounds great. I guarantee wine is in my future today.

Happy Sunday kids!

Curby, I have YF the info last night and he's quite excited to check it out! One of those constellation books would be fabulous, and just let me know how much and what the postage is and I'll send you the $. I'm all for encouraging stuff beyond the cyber world too, LOL. I always forget about Land's End, but I have gotten some really good stuff from there over the years so I need to go and check out their site. Christmas is coming and maybe I'll find a few things my dad can buy me from there. If I don't give him ideas he comes up with stuff on his own... which is always... uh... *interesting*...

Speaking of Christmas, I'm going to send you an idea. It's the "casual" tennis necklace I've been mulling over. Since it's been several months and I still go and check it out on the website regularly I'm thinking it's a good idea and not one of my flights of fancy, ha ha. I'll wait until a more reasonable time in your zone though so I don't wake you up with a text!

At some point I have to go down in the storage room and assess what I've got for this year's presents. I have some thoughts for OF, YF and Liam, but I want to get them using my work computer when I'm at the office so they don't show up on the feed here. I also need to order that 3D printer, and I want to do it this week.

The picture taking went pretty well yesterday and I've got some stuff queued up for today. My two orders from yesterday are already packed up too so if anything comes in today I won't have a big backlog in the evening.

There needs to be some serious laundry today, which I hope results in finding my favorite pants because I want to wear them tomorrow to meet the COO. I really really really hope these people step up with some $$$ and I can just take this job and be done with it.

Time to wordle and quordle and then up and at 'em!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, no worries about the postage on the booklet. I'll text you and get the address and try to get it in the mail this week. I have a few inserts from Astronomy magazine I'll stick in there too.

Land's end doesn't seem to have as wide variety of selection as they used to have but I generally like their clothes. I swear by their squall parkas. They keep me warm!

I really like the idea of a tennis necklace and the one you sent me is quite nice. I am sure you saw my answers and samples on diamond size. Of course a string of diamonds will show up way better than my rings. I think a one carat tennis bracelet might give you a good idea how it will look. I am anxious to see what you get.

Good plan to shop for Liam and the ferals at the office so they don't stumble across their gifts.

Good luck tomorrow! Sending mega dust your way.

I'll go check out your site after I post here. You have a lot of things listed.

Don't ever worry about waking me up with a text. I have my phone on do not disturb from 10 pm to 7 am MT so if I am asleep I won't hear it or see it anyway. I did that my last day at work. Ha! I am no longer on call 24 hours a day. Sweet.

We had a lazy day. Went out for breakfast and I picked up some groceries. I grilled burgers for us for lunch and worked on the busy project for my part time job. Ha Ha.

I did laundry today as well and lifted.

Laters,

Happy Monday kids!

Curby, I'll text you the address to send the book too, and I'll give you YF's name. He'll find it thrilling to get some mail of his own! Good point about the size of the diamonds. Hm... Will reach out and see if larger stones are an option. Sister #1 has the do not disturb function enabled on her phone... but I feel like it always on, ha ha.

Yesterday I did a bunch more listings and queued up everything from the backlog. Now I have twenty five (!!!) ready to go and I'll activate three a day, maybe more if I get a ton piled up beyond that.

I'm currently on hold with the post office because I'm trying to file a claim for the missing package and also two glasses that got broken in shipping, and the system keeps defaulting to my downtown address, which is not the shipping address on the labels. What a PITA. I don't think I'm ever going to see these refunds.

My boss is out today and I'm glad because now there's no issue with me sneaking out for my meeting with the bank COO this afternoon. Sometimes the universe smiles upon us!

Alright, off to find something mindless to do while I continue to listen to the post office's really band on-hold music.

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, I am anxious to hear how your interview went today. I am sure you aced it.

Thanks for the address. I will get that in the mail this week.

Let me know if larger diamonds are an option, I would hate to see you spend that much money and then not be able to enjoy some sparkle off the necklace. I did notice quite a different in the closeup of the ACA melee and the Tiffany band - but they are not the same size either.

That's great you have so many new images queued up and ready to go. Someone watching your site daily will be so impressed you dedicate so much time to your site. I browsed it all last night.

Good luck with the missing package and broken glasses.

I have only worked so far today. I ordered us lunch from Applebees - both our meals were awful! Marty had grilled chicken X2 and commented I didn't need to order from there again. I tried to order myself a hamburger but they only had some copy soybean burger - um - no thanks. So I tried a steak. It was HORRID!!! I'm starving since I didn't get much.

I'm cold and yawning so need to put on a jacket and wonder over the mail box. Maybe I'll work on mini me #2 tonight. I was so lazy today, I didn't even put on rings or earrings.

Off to see if my insurance company has a bill yet on biopsy test #2. That way I'll at least know when the doctor should be getting results.

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, I hope you are out celebrating a fantastic job offer and considering what to say in your sympathy card for work - you know our sorry for your loss - it's ME!!!

Not much exciting going on here today. I ran errands first thing one of which was sending the YF his package. It's coming UPS and should arrive Friday. I put do not bend stickers on it so hopefully it arrives in one piece and not all bent up.

I worked and not much else. The thrill-o-meter is not too active here.

Laters,
Curby

Happy Wednesday kids!

Just a quickie because I have a meeting in 9 minutes. Job offer is being prepared and I expect it next week. These people take a lifetime... And. They HUGGED ME in the job interview. The president of the trust company hugged me TWICE. H.U.G.G.E.D. M.E. WTF.

We had a really really terrible experience at Applebees a few years ago (I'm sure I told you about it -- it culminated with YF puking in the parking lot) so it's off our list too.

Any word from the doc yet?

Thanks a ton for sending the package -- I'm sure YF will be THRILLED!

Alright, off to be Super Compliance Officer!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, good luck on the offer. That is quite strange they hugged you - that is pretty much frowned on these days even if it is simply a sincere and kind gesture. I got quite a few my last day at D.

I do remember the time poor YF hurled his meal in the parking lot, I did not remember it was Applebees. We never eat at the restaurant because it's never been very good but it is quick for delivery so we've used it a few times. Never again!

Not a gosh darned word from the doctor other than a bill. I swear my throat feels worse every day. I am imagining my head is full of tumors by now. I googles thyroid scar images and that probably wasn't a good idea either.

I hope YF enjoys his astronomy package. I tuned in late to Jeopardy last night and they had a section on astronomy. Luckily its on the networks and that records all the time so I was able to play it off the DVR just to check out all the questions. Not to brag, but I did get them all. But, when we were playing trivial pursuit the other night I did miss an astronomy question and was so ashamed. It was on a spacecraft mission to an object about 20 years ago and I answered asteroid rather than comet. Color me embarrassed.

Short night for both of us. Since I was awake before 5 though I did get up and start a roast in the crock pot. Finally fell asleep again about 6 and set my alarm for 7. After hitting snooze a few times, I got up and had to walk the trashcan out for pickup in my Snoopy pajamas. I at least put a long jacket on to cover up so you'd only see the Snoopy leggings if anyone was looking. Breakfast and a show for the neighbors.

Off to do some work.
Curby

Happy Thursday kids!

Curby, that's quite a picture you painted taking the trash can out in your Snoopy jammies! I certainly hope one of your neighbors got a good picture and uploaded it to instagram! Hopefully the doc will call you today. Stop Using Doctor Google!!! Asteroid... Comet... Moon... Planet... UFO... they're all the same to me. But you and YF have at it!

Yesterday I did a bit of work and ended up bringing a big pile of paper with me to The North Estate. Not sure when that is going to get any attention though because now I've got thirty-seven pieces of glass to pack up and I won about four dozen more in last night's auction so I'll have to zip up north today and grab those. Glass comes in... glass goes out!

When I started my store I had ordered these cute scalloped edge blank note cards so I could put a little note in with the orders. They've been out of stock since last November and I was starting to worry about the upcoming holiday season so I ordered some regular multi-colored index cards and a bunch of hole punches in different shapes (snowflakes, wine glass, flowers) to jazz them up a bit. Yes... Dee overthinks! If they're cute and work well I can see getting a whole bunch more for different seasons.

Well now that I've wasted a bunch of time on PS and buying things that absolutely no one else will ever care about I feel "late" -- better get going!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, well at least if a neighbor got a shot of me in my Snoopy PJ's this pair fits me. The same pair three sizes bigger were left in the trash in Duck, NC. Ha! You know, I bet it's on many security cameras including ours. You could probably pay Marty to get a copy - or most likely he'd give it to you free.

I did stop at my doctor today to give them a revised "wishes" document because I changed one of them. They were freaking closed. WTH? I was going "ask" so when can I expect to hear . . . But I like to scare the crap out of myself with Dr. Google.

LOL to those astronomical objects all look the same to you.

What were you thinking bringing home paperwork to do? Sounds like your glassware will keep you busy enough. I actually have only worked 90 minutes so far today - but I worked 9 hours yesterday.

I love the idea of a nice little note card in your orders. I think that is a very nice, personal touch. Using seasonal shaped cards is even better. It shows you are thinking of your customer. My sister who sells doll clothes has me make her stickers, business cards and little tags. Some of them she uses pinking sheers and folds them in half, punches a hole in them and uses ribbon to tie on her clothes. She does quite well between craft sales and a doll shoppe in Denver that sells her doll clothes on consignment.

My dentist appointment was at 9 am today so I planned on getting up early. However at 5:30, 6 and 6:30 Marty was still sleeping so I hated to get up and wake him up. I finally did at 7 so I worked about 20 minutes before heading to the dentist. I mentioned the area kind of bugs me, so they whipped out the X-ray machine (adding probably $350 to my bill) to check it before putting the permanent crown on me. I get that though. He didn't see any infection and the root went all the way down. It is kind of curved at the end. Since that tooth broke off past the gum, it could be the gum. Let's hope it's fine.

Afterwards I ventured to the doctor only to see the "closed" sign. The jerk! Next stop county clerk's office. I was one of about 4 people doing early voting. Then the Curbymobile raced me over to Sams Club where I stocked up on paper products that I obviously didn't need since it took me 20 minutes to rearrange and stuff things in the linen closet and overflow bedroom closet. I did get Marty a tomahawk steak and a pack of tenderloin for this weekend. I browsed their clothes and picked up one long sleeve tee shirt. I almost bought a sweater but it seemed cheap - quality matched the price, I guess. Of course, I wandered down the Christmas isle. I can't believe it's about two months away.

I ate soft food for lunch. I checked Culver's flavor of the day and quickly informed Marty he'd be picking up supper for us on the way home from the gym.

Poor guy is sleeping a lot and not able to focus on much. I feel bad for him. He booked his flight to Oklahoma City next month. He is competing in a lifting competition. His sister is driving there to meet him and he'll stay with her in her RV. It should do both of them good to just hang out for a few days.

I ordered fingerless gloves yesterday since I get so cold all the time. They showed up today along with a replacement monitor. Marty's new monitor went wacky already. I was lucky too, because I went on Amazon to do a return and since we bought 2 monitors, I just picked the top one to exchange. Then a few hours later, I'm thinking CRAP if I returned the wrong one the serial number / shipping label won't match and they'll say - Sorry - we are going to charge you for this monitor again. Buy, luckily I picked the correct order to return. Woo hoo! I should go buy that winning lotto ticket.

Happy Friday kids!

Curby, I have jammies with rubber ducks wearing santa hats. I wear them all year long! It's great your sister does so well with her doll clothes! I thought about getting cards printed with my store name... but haven't gotten around to it yet LOL. Maybe in your "spare time" you can design something for me. How's Marty doing today? That thing with the monitor is totally something I would do. I actually had a moment of panic a few months ago when I thought I had swapped two address on orders, but fortunately I had just copied the wrong UPS tracking number into a message for someone and everything was actually fine. Talk about "a moment" though!

Yesterday I spent hours packing up five orders. And then I ran up to the auction place and picked up everything I'd bought. These pieces are really gorgeous and I've already got them queued up to take pics today. I need to get on my holiday game! I do have to say that having a bunch of listings ready to go so I can pop up three a day is working out pretty well. Can't believe it took me a year and a half to figure that out, ha ha.

My super junior woodchuck at the office mentioned something about wanting Christmas china. We were looking at some online and the set she likes the best is coincidentally a set I just bought at an auction so I'm tempted to give it to her as a gift! No idea how she would get it home though. I guess I could ship it to her. I mean, I DO ship things! :cheeky:

Alright, time to get this day going!

Curby, forgot to say -- YF's package from you arrived yesterday! That was FAST!!! The ferals are not here is weekend but I'll give it to him first thing when he comes next week. What a nice little surprise that will be for him!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, thanks for letting me know the package arrived for YF, I was going to check the status today but never got around to it.

Your rubber duck with Santa hats sounds cute. It's important to have cute PJ's. And warm ones . . .

Marty was a bit better today. He at least slept until 4 am when his alarm went off. We met for breakfast. He still didn't work all day, but seemed a bit more focused. I am sure he'll get a bit better slowly, but surely.

I'd do the same thing with labels. I am so forgetful anymore I have way too many blonde moments. When Marty took the new monitor downstairs, I immediately moved the new box out of the way and we both checked the serial number on the box we packed up to take to Kohl's.

That's great the pieces your picked up today are gorgeous. That is slick you can get three new listings posted a day automatically. I cringe every time you mention holidays. So far I picked up a 12 pound bag of flour at Sam's Club. That's it. Usually, I have Christmas cards printed by now and then some.

That would be so awesome to give the Christmas china to your junior woodchuck. That's a fabulous gift. What pattern does she like. About 15 (or so) years ago they Williams-Sonoma or Pottery Barn had the cutest Christmas plates with whimsical reindeer on them. We really liked them but didn't get them. I do like my Christmas china though.

I had my too frequent two plus hours of insomnia last night. So I slept in until about 7. My do not disturb allowed me to sleep through the 43 "pings" that would have gone off for Whatsapp from work. I had things to go before I even took a shower. I still skipped out to meet Marty for breakfast. That is kind of a Friday morning habit these days so no way was I going to tell him I was too busy. I ran out about 2 and picked up Arby's for myself for lunch and worked some more. I got the official I can request charts from a guy without getting permission and the go ahead to just update our continuous articles as necessary. Great. I'll have to stay on top of that. It's things like once an eclipse passes or a meteor shower, or season, etc. I update it for the next one. Not that I mind, like I told the boss that kind of thing is right up my alley.

You and Marty keep telling me to stay off Dr. Google but darn it, I keep thinking of new questions. The one I found last night is most insurance companies won't pay for this second "supposed" test and it's about $4500. I'll have to work more hours.

My new crown feels pretty good. It is a bit achy tonight but I honestly haven't chewed much on that side of my mouth for over a year. I am finding talking and eating during the day does make my throat - blob more sore. I decided this is a M&M caught in my throat that just had tissue grow around it. A little "m" probably shows up on the ultrasound.

I did get up in time to see a great sunrise and my cell phone even caught the little crescent moon in it. Good way to start the day,.

Sunrise Oct 20.jpg

Curby, wow, what a GORGEOUS sunrise! I'm glad to hear Marty is starting to do a little better day by day. Poor guy. Have you looked for the plates on ebay? I bet they're out there... because EVERYTHING is available on ebay! When we were visiting my dad I noticed his watch was virtually unreadable because water must have gotten into it when he forgot to take it off before getting in the pool. He wears this Time Indiglo, and has since I can remember. He said he's got a couple of extras at home that are only good for parts at this point and he's going to work on it when he gets back (maybe the issue is the seal, maybe the screws... who knows). I said, why don't you just buy a new one? They're only like $30/40. He told me that they aren't available any more, and haven't been for years. So when we got back I went on ebay and bought him one, brand new in the box, and it got delivered this week. Can you guess what's going in his x-mas package this year?!

Yesterday I took pics for a bunch of listings and packed up a few orders. When I got back from the post office in the late afternoon Liam said we were having dinner with friends so I scurried into some nice jeans and a top and we were off. The restaurant we went to is now my new favorite place, and I can't believe we've never been there before. It was really really great -- food, service, decor. Plus, they have these "igloos" out back that can seat up to six people and in the winter with the snow falling they are going to be fabulous! They're like geodomes made out of clear plastic. I can't believe I forgot to take a picture for you. Duh!

I better get going. A lady has a question about a punch bowl so I need to get it out of the box and see if it has any air bubbles. I'm pretty sure it will since that is typical of old glass (as a matter of fact that ones of the way you know glass IS old is by the air bubbles). But if she wants pictures, then pictures there will be!

Happy early Sunday morning kids!

It is only 4:15... and I am AWAKE. Ugh. Liam is too, and he's actually downstairs making coffee right now.

Yesterday was a bit of a clusterfvck. I only got pics done for two listings, ran to the post office and UPS, and then decided to make chili so I stopped at the store while I was out. I figured I had several hours yet before Liam and his cousin were back from the auction, but they showed up early. The kitchen was an absolute disaster -- I hadn't even started cleaning stuff up yet. Somehow we muddled through, but I was all discombobulated with glass and props everywhere and a general chaotic mess.

After we had an early bowl of chili (or two!) I got a text from our friends saying they wanted to critique the food tonight "afterward" because they were testing out the caterer for their upcoming anniversary party next month. I was like... Uhhhhhhh... honey... did you get a text from Teresa... ??? Then it dawned on us that was the night of the bourbon tasting party, which had completely slipped both of our minds. Oops! So Liam's cousin was unceremoniously dispatched and we hopped in the shower, threw on some clothes and headed over. The food was good, but the hostess didn't like the pasta dish (I didn't have any of it), which was kind of a main component to the food, or the cake, which had almost flavor instead of being just a regular white cake as she'd specified. So not sure what's going to happen in terms of using these folks for the actual party.

I've got four orders to pack up as of now, including one big lamp that I'm going to need to disassemble and pack the pieces of individually. And late morning I'm meeting a lady at a McDonalds at a highway exit fifty miles away to hand over twenty glasses and a pitcher. Frankly it would be cheaper for me to ship them to her rather than drive a hundred miles round trip, but this way I don't have to go through the hassle of packing stuff like that and I also get to take Billy Ray out!

Might as well get rolling.

Liam surprised me with a big pumpkin yesterday!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, that is a huge pumpkin! What a nice surprise from Liam. Your hair is really long. You look great and happy.

I was awake quite early too. What's up with that? I guess we don't really need our beauty sleep.

Thanks. We do have nice sunrises around here. I snagged another one today.

Yes, I am glad to see Marty is a little less broken. I know he'll have up and down days. I have not looked for those plates on ebay, I would probably know them if I saw them, but just remember they were cute and we liked them. Great idea to get your dad a new watch. Between Amazon and Ebay you can find almost anything. Those little killer rabbits we have are no longer on Amazon. I should look on ebay.

Glad dinner with friends was nice. That restaurant sounds fabulous, especially those geodomes. Darn you didn't get a picture. How fun! I at least have some clothes that fit me now so I can get dressed up to go places. Ha Ha.

Is that the big, heavy punch bowl? I hope that lady buys it.

We had a fun day yesterday. I kept Marty distracted all day. He went to the gym Saturday morning and showed up a few hours later, absolutely filthy. One of his clients asked him to come help her move or drain a portable swimming pool. He got crap all over him. After his shower we went to eat lunch at Culvers then headed to hardware store #1 to spend our $43 rebate. We did good too, I have $1.31 left on the rebate so what we picked up was free. I got a little Christmas Minion to go with our Snoopy and abominable snowman. Marty picked up what turned out to be the perfect edge for my desk. He made this desk out of pine about 15 years ago and the front edge got rubbed off over the years from the chair getting pushed in to it. It was snagging my sweaters. He thought sanding it and adding more varnish might not turn out well, so he found a clear edging piece that fit perfect and looks great.

Then we headed to hardware store #2 mainly to see if they had any outdoor Snoopy Christmas decorations. We left there empty handed. Next stop was hardware store #3 - that has to be a record getting me in three hardware stores in one day. We left there with an inflatable Snoopy decorated like a nutcracker and some parts Marty picked up to fix his door handle at the gym.

Marty still had to finish his Saturday lifting session so I went back with him. I played Angry Birds while he lifted.

After we got home, he plopped down on the couch and started watching movies. I had to get my November article going for the paper so after I got that done I made us popcorn and we watched another movie.

I know that was all so very exciting.

Today I tried to sleep in after having a few hours of insomnia about the same time you were awake. I finished my article for the paper - twice, by the way - and got it sent off. I updated it once and thought I hit copy but didn't and stupidly closed Word without saving it. Oh well, it didn't take me long to do it twice.

I did my lifting and washed several batches of laundry. I got the rest of my order from Land's End so the back bed is covered with sweaters drying. It's in the 40's here today and we might get snow tonight. Phooey.

Marty grilled himself a tomahawk steak and four filet so we have them for tomorrow. I cut my filet and potato in half so have instant lunch tomorrow.

Take care.

Happy Monday kids!

Curby, when I was at Lowes a week or two ago I saw this cool arch thing you could put in front of your door with a Christmas theme. I though, oh, too bad I didn't know about that when I had my old place and did the x-mas in July party... and then I saw it was $500! I hate it when I think I've saved something and then find out I didn't. ARGH!!! The lady is still thinking about the punch bowl. Yes, it's the big heavy amber one, along with eleven cups. It will weigh a ton and shipping will be $$$. If she buys it I hope she's "local" so it's not so much! You just reminded me I left a load of laundry in the washer. Damn. I'll have to run it though again when I get back to the house tomorrow night.

Billy Ray an I had a nice drive yesterday and I handed off the box of glass to the lady. It was like a drug drop, LOL. When I got back I had a bunch or orders to pack up, unloaded and reloaded the dish washer, and did one and a half loads of laundry (see aforementioned load still in the washer!). Then I called it and took an hour for myself and did my nails. It's the first time I've used this color and I really like it!

My boss is out today (he cut his hand this morning -- I hope he's OK!) and I'm stilllllll working on the annual review. Will this thing NEVER end?!

Off to look at some reports. The excitement abounds!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, that Christmas arch around the door sounds great but wow that's a lot for a Christmas decoration. I am so used to Mac Pages auto saving things, I don't even think about it in Word or Excel. To be fair - it did ask me if I wanted to save it. Maybe because I said no it wiped out what I copied already. Oh well. If that's my biggest problem ever, I am doing good. I hope the punch bowl and cups do get purchased by someone close enough you can deliver them. That would be pricey to ship plus safer to deliver in person. Crap you left a load of clothes in the washer. They do tend to smell funny if you don't get them dry right away. I usually do our undies and socks last and sometime find them in my dryer. Or I run out of something and go "oh that's right . . ."

Sweet you took BR for a lovely drive yesterday and may a drug - er I mean glasses drop. You did have a busy day yesterday.

Oh no, I hope your boss didn't get cut too bad. I've had two bad ones where I needed stitches but neither time did I get them attended to by a doctor. I have been better at not cutting myself.

When will you hear from the bank?

I was up bright and early because I had two articles to get done ASAP for tomorrow. I worked over 7 hours today. Our leftovers from yesterday heated up great. Woo hoo. But I am hungry right now. I might do a grilled cheese for supper. I need to run out and get some cash for the cleaning lady, but it is windy as crud out there. Strange, that never happens here.

I forgot to tell you yesterday, I ordered myself a "retro" pink trim line phone for my desk. It is even made by AT&T. I had one in high school. I reorganized my desk and decided I wanted a smaller phone. We had an ugly office type phone with all sorts of lines, etc. on it and since it is the only analog phone in the house, I decided to get a trim line phone. It doesn't even have caller ID on it. Funny, it rang a while ago and I answered it to find it was Vera from WF calling. She is calling some of us to celebrate her 19 years at WF. I told her I'd been meaning to call her or email her because my rings need sizing. How nice of her.

I keep meaning to get to the mall and get those few rings turned in to be sized and get my size / rings measured for WF to send them in. I considered sending my gemstones rings to that place in Denver but I just can't imagine packing up all of those rings and sending them off in one box. I'd have heart failure it that box got lost. Then again, the same would apply to my shipment to WF. Road trip! Ha Ha.

Here is my retro pink phone. I love it.

I forgot to mention, I used my computer glasses for work all day. Now I can't see crap with my regular glasses. Oops.

Happy rainy Tuesday kids!

Curby, LOVE the pink phone!!! Liam bought a bunch of old fashioned rotary phones at an auction a few weeks ago. One was SO old it has to be hard wired! I was playing around with them and couldn't believe how HEAVY those things were! How awesome to hear from Vera! I reached out to her a while ago about a bezel ring they had made for someone else to find out about the size as it looked similar to Bob Ross. Speaking of Bob Ross, I *think* I'm finally ready to get your feedback on a design. Also, I found another potential tennis necklace and if I'm doing the math right the stones are about 2.8 instead of 2 pointers. There is an extra link between each bezel and I'm trying to decide if I like that or not... The bank was allegedly going to have something for me yesterday. But of course they did not. I agree that putting a whole bunch of rings in one box and sending them at the same time would about cause me a heart attack!

Yesterday I got some work done... but not enough of course. Around 4:30 I go the brilliant idea that I needed my hair trimmed so I managed to snag an appointment at a place about a block from my condo and headed over. He did an OK job, but not great. Then again it was about the cheapest haircut I've ever gotten LOL. I cleaned up my bangs when I got home and now it looks pretty good, although this morning the first thing my assistant said was "Oh, you got your hair trimmed!" to he must have taken off enough for it to be noticeable. That's alright, there were some split ends and I think they're all gone now.

I keep trying to do some x-mas shopping, but inspiration is just not kicking in. No clue why the Good Idea Fairy is avoiding me this year!

New hire training in 15 minutes, I better go print out the slide deck!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, thanks - so far my pink phone makes me smile. A silly little addition to my desk. Too funny Liam recently bought some retro phones too. Marty did have to do something to get this phone to work on our digital router. It had to be plugged in to the old fashioned phone jack anyway. Yes, some of those old phones are weapons. This trim line is pretty light. Vera is awesome. She just reminded me the Christmas rush is coming, I best get my rings shipped off. I'll be Marcy no rings for weeks. If only I had one or two other ones to wear. I'll be anxious to see your design ideas for Bob Ross. Such a unique and cool gemstone.

I think you'd be happy with 2.8 pointers in a necklace. Can you send me the link? Sounds pretty.

I hope you hear from the bank - or already did get a fantastic offer!

Darn the hair cut wasn't the greatest. I've tried to clean up a trim when I got home and usually failed.

How was the new hire training?

I was up before 6 today but that way I got in on Marty's egg, bacon and cheese omelet and got to watch a gorgeous sunrise. I was quite busy at work today. Even did a challenging edit of a new article. It was kind of fun. I continue to learn their idiosyncrasies every day. IMO, I've improved anyway.

We ordered steaks in through Door Dash. They were amazingly good today. I zapped 1/2 of a baked potato that slid right off the plate when I got it out of the "high" microwave over the stove. It went right on the floor. And our cleaning lady was here this morning. It's figures. So luckily, I still had another 1/2 to heat up.

I'm considering running to the mall and turn in my few rings now. It's windy and cold though. Decisions. Decisions. I should get on hold with our insurance company. They keep marking my doctor as out of network, but they have him as in network on their website. The last bill is p*ssing me off too. He charged me for that "wellness" check (that we didn't have) for an office visit and visit of established patient. That should be three different appointments in my book. My childhood next door neighbor used to work at a local medical facility. She moved years ago to Pennsylvania but I got a recommendation from her last night of a GP she likes. I plan on switching to her as soon as I get this thyroid business underway.

Happy Wednesday kids!

Curby, your doctor situation is seriously F'd up! They really need to get their act together. Mmmmmmm... omelets! I haven't had real breakfast food in forever -- yogurt and granola bars do not count! I'll have to find the link for the necklace again. Being a moron, I only took a pic of the piece and forgot to get the site I was on so there's only a 50/50 change I'll ever get back to it. Argh; I hate it when I do that! Can you think of any of our good vendors that might "stock" something like this? I would feel a lot better about buying if from someone we know. No offer from the bank yet. And I'm losing hope. I could of course reach out to the COO and be like, hey dude, what's up?! But then again, I could not...

Last night I worked until about nine. When I got home I fell asleep and stayed asleep until almost seven this morning. It was glorious! Today I am hoping to scoot out early because the Container Store should have everything ready for our closet and I'd like to meet Liam and pick it all up since the place is half way between downtown and The North Estate. The auction tonight also has a bunch of glass I really want so I just set an alarm to make sure I don't miss it. Hopefully I'll be back at the house by then because I am not interested in trying to bid and drive my car down the highway at the same time ha ha.

Alright, I need to continue down the path of what I started yesterday afternoon. Fees and expense testing. Oh joy. NOT!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, the bank is juggling money so they can make you a HUGE offer. Sweet.

Yep, my doctor kind of sucks. I got an email today from our insurance company saying "my claim has been processed". I immediately got excited that the second test was finally completed. Nope. It was my crown from the dentist. Jerks.

I only eat a normal breakfast usually on the weekend. I meet Marty on Friday most weeks so do a traditional breakfast then too. Typically it's fruit and a piece of toast.

I did glance over diamond necklaces on James Allen but didn't see something similar to what you mentioned. Can you look at your internet history and find that necklace that way? I got a quote from WF on sizing cost, let's say the price has gone up a lot since the last time I had rings sized.

Speaking of spinning rings, I did run those six rings to the mall last night. I also are having them cut some length off this gold chain bracelet. They didn't shorten it when I bought it and now it's really big. Naturally, I have to pay for that even though they didn't do it when I bought it. Kay's had their St. Jude's bear and puppy so I donated one of each and brought home one of each. I set up the puppy in Marty's office. Surprisingly, it's still there. He's real busy with work though, so he'll probably move it elsewhere later. The new bear is with his buddies on our banister.

You did have a good night's sleep. Nice! Did you and Liam pick up all the stuff for the closet? I hope they had everything and it works great for you. Hopefully you make the auction too.

I got up before 6 today and I'm yawning already. My spinning rings are driving me CRAZY right now.

I quit at 6 hours today for work and need to go lift here shortly.

Thrill-o-meter not pegging much.

Happy Thursday kid!

Curby, well the bank finally came through with an offer yesterday... and it's pretty damn good! I am going to submit my list of questions (the same ones I submitted to the big bank that ended up killing THAT deal!) and see what they say. Shame on your insurance company for tricking you like that! I found the link to the other necklace and I'll text it to you. Of course now I'm wondering if that's what I REALLY want for x-mas... ha ha. Nice to bring home some new members of the family!

So the closet saga... The Container Store never called yesterday so Liam finally called THEM and of course the stuff was ready so I left the city and met him there. We brought everything home and he was taking about putting it all together last night. Frankly I am of the opinion that house projects are best done in the DAYLIGHT (!!!) but whatever. Of course before even the first thing was screwed to the wall he was talking about "taking the who fvcking system back" (as if we all didn't see that coming!), but eventually he got to it and we put up the basic framework. Today we'll need to assemble the drawers and everything. And then the transition to get stuff out of the ferals' closets and back into this one. What a chore...

I had seven orders by the time I got to The North Estate Last night. Two of them got packed... and five of them are still outstanding. So that will be Mission One this morning. I also need to get another bag of styrofoam peanuts and pick up the stuff I won in last night's auction, as well as go to the post office, UPS, and the OTHER auction place to get what I won in last Sunday's auction. Oy. I'm exhausted just typing this out!!!

Given the length of today's To Do list I it obviously time to get going!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, nice you got a pretty damn good offer from the bank. I hope they answer your questions "correctly".

It was rude of the insurance company to trick me. The jerks.

Marty finally spotted the new bear on the banister last night. His puppy is still in his office. Shocking.

I hope the closet works out. Installing everything does sound like a chore. Moving things back in to the closet sounds like more work.

Wow, you had lots of orders to pack up. Good thing you have new things to pick up to keep you well stocked with a variety of pieces. You certainly had a lot of things to do today.

I like the necklaces your sent me. I wouldn't snub my nose at any of them. Did you make a decision? My sister that goes through rough looking for sapphires to cut, has a lot of small stones. I suggest she get a gemstones by the yard necklace made with them. She doesn't wear necklaces though. I thought it would be cool. Maybe a bracelet would work for them.

My day was normal, work, knit, eat a few meals and I was cold. I have on a long sleeve tee shirt, a knit sweater and a flannel shirt. It's going to be a long winter.

Laters,

Curby, I accepted the offer!!! Now I'm in the background check process, and I will not quit my current job until all the Is are dotted and the Ts crossed, so let's hope that happens quickly! No progress on the closet last night. Ugh. Also no progress on a necklace decision. Maybe the fact that I'm not jumping at the chance to order one is a sign... ? Hmmmmmm. I like your bracelet idea for your sister's sapphires! Layers are the way to go. I always have on at least a T-shirt and a fleece and I must take that thing off and on a hundred times a day!

All the orders got packed yesterday, although I never did get to UPS to drop those off. I DID however go to all the other places, so I'm still considering it a win!

Today Liam's shed comes! Hopefully that happens in the morning because I'm supposed to take Billy Ray over to storage this afternoon. I also need to get him washed first.

Hopefully tonight Liam will work on the closet after he gets the ferals because having my clothes spread all over god's green earth is getting bit old

Off to get this day rolling!

Hi Kids!

Woo hoo! #deejaynewjob - SWEET. Congratulations! I hope you LOVE it. Oh wait, now I'm concerned about the background check. Just kidding . . . I'm excited for you. Definitely, don't give notice until everything is settled and ready to go with the new job.

That is a thought, if you can't make up your mind on the necklace, maybe it's not exactly what you want. I seem to get very excited about something I really want but not so much on those many impulse buys I tend to do all too often. I should remind my sister of the bracelet idea. That way I can spend her money. Ha!

Did the closet get finished today? You and Liam will be happy to get that done and everything put away.

I am with you on layers. Right now I need to put more on; I am cold. I bought little finger less gloves too.

You did get a lot done yesterday, even if you didn't make it to UPS. You are putting Billy Ray up for the winter. Hug him good-bye for me too. I'd miss my little Curbymobile.

I got up about 6:30 and worked for about 90 minutes before heading out to the grocery store. Marty has been working long hours this week so came upstairs about 12:30 and said he was done for all he planned to do today. He thought he should go out to lunch, naturally I said yes. I've had a $25 gift card to Olive Garden since last Christmas so decided to get that spent. I enjoyed a glass of pino noir with my lunch too. I should have know he had an ulterior motive, because we drove around to several RV dealers to look at either a camper shell for his pickup or a small toy hauler. IMO, he's nuts wanting to spend that much money for something I bet he uses at most six months of the year and once or twice a month. But I'm sure he thinks I'm nuts for things I buy too. Anyway, I hope he knows if he gets one of those tiny campers his wife is staying home. I get claustrophobic in small places. Our 5th wheel was 40 feet long. I didn't mind camping in that. To be fair, the only way he ever got me to go camping was for the stars. It was fun driving around town though.

I worked some this morning and this afternoon. I'm about to eat chips and salsa for supper. WTH? That just sounds good to me.

Have a great weekend.
