Happy Tuesday kids!

Curby, Cash is KING! Holy cow -- I really hope Marty is on board with taking the offer. When I got the cash offer on my condo I could have dropped to my knees and kissed the buyers! YF did indeed make the soup from scratch. I was asking him about the "recipe" and he said something about canned chicken. I was like... uh... let's get some rotisserie chicken instead, it's better quality. He did agree, but had an objection that it was shredded and not in little cubes like the canned stuff and while we were eating it he said the "shape" threw him off. Are you still working as much?

Yesterday was a whirlwind of retirement activity! I went to Fed Ex for Liam right when it opened and since I was by the big liquor store I figured I might as well stock up. Because it was so hot I took everything straight home and put it in the house rather than letting it sit in a hot car while I did other things. Then I ran to Costco. In the afternoon I picked up three flats of glass I'd bought the night before on the online auction and dropped packages at the post office. And then... I started to tackle the giant pile of blue glass that has been sitting in the kitchen and family room... some of which has been there literally for three years now. It is SUCH a behemoth of a job that I've been dreading it literally for years. Well no more! I got through the two biggest boxes and today I'm going to keep going. Frankly not much of it has any value, but Liam suggested we put it on FB marketplace for free and let someone come and get it once I've sorted it all out. Fine with me! Then I need to move on to the giant boxes of green and red. Ugh!

The treadmill arrived! I crested the hill from Costco and saw a moving truck in the driveway. When I realized what was going on I made the decision to circle the neighborhood (twice, LOL) while they were unloading the box and putting it on the porch. After going around the second time I pulled in and they were gone. We cleaned the dog room last night and put it in there. I think it's going to work out great! Frankly the whole set up process went much easier than I expected, which isn't something I get to say too often, ha ha.

Alright, off to put on some workout clothes and go for a "walk"!

Dee*Jay- I do remember the Liam dream. That was so random and it cracks me up that you now refer to him as Liam. Too funny. How did you ever have time for a full time job? I admire your energy and gumption! That’s awesome that your former side hustle keeps you hopping. And Liam likes that stuff as well. I’d be lost doing all of that! I hope the treadmill/pad works out.

Marcy-the sunset picture was beautiful. And a cash offer? We took the first offer when we sold our last house. It had been on the market for 7 days and it was a very good offer, so we jumped on it. I just don’t have nerves of steel to hold out for something better. Good luck and I have my fingers crossed that it all works out! I’m excited for you to get moved to your new place. I love looking at house pictures! I need decorating ideas.

I have a big statutory deadline on Friday so I’ve been hard at it to get everything done on time. I did a thing several weeks ago when I was sure I was going to retire in October. For a retirement present to myself, I ordered a new car (Yikes!). I have been tracking it from the order to the production line, assembly, etc. Today it left the factory. I have never special ordered a car, so this is a whole new experience for me. It’s a 2025 BMW X5 in tanzanite blue. It just needs to be transported from South Carolina to West Virginia and it’s all MINE. I can’t wait! Have a wonderful evening and a great Wednesday.

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, yes cash is king. I still don’t know if we are under contract. The moving is also still in the air. A place Marty got a bid from out of Colorado has horrible reviews online. I’m with you on canned chicken for soup. I usually use boneless chicken breasts and cut them up. And make homemade noodles. Yes, I am still working 8 hours a day, but try not to do more. We’ve been busy enough on weekends that I don’t work then.

That’s a totally good idea to stock up on liquor. It helps when it’s hot or cold. Or is that, it can’t hurt? We’re finding if we list stuff as free no one wants it. Put a price on it and it sells. It’ll be nice to get through or rid of those glasses then.

I hope you like the treadmill and the pups don’t wear themselves out on it.

Deegee, I would have accepted the first offer we got too, but Marty thought it was too low. This offer is even lower. I’d accept anything to get it done. Right now, we accepted the offer. We asked if they’d give us a day to move out and they said no. Then, they said no to 4 hours. So we’re trying to figure out how to move out the day before. The builder said we could put stuff in the garage the day before. But what a PITA. I looked up reviews of the builder Marty called today and they have horrid reviews.

I like to go to open houses and parade of homes to see how things are decorated.

How exciting about your custom tanzanite blue car. I’ll look forward to pictures. When my blue Macon was coming over the ocean, I tracked the cargo ship it was on. When it came in to the channel in Houston, I even watched it go by some webcam they had along the way. Are you still planning on retiring or sticking it out for a while?

I had a distracted day. Marty still wasn’t onboard with the low offer, and was agitated about it and them. He was busy with work, as was I and I had to run out for some errands. I had my last 1/3 portion of chicken and pasta from the Olive Garden for supper. I slept all of three hours last night. I hope tonight I can sleep.

Laters,
Curby

Woo hoo! Our house is under contract.

Congratulations Marcy! Yay!!! I swear I can never move again because of the stress from selling the house.

Happy Wednesday kids!

Curby, AWESOME!!! I realize the offer is lower, but there is absolutely genuine value in a cash deal. When is the inspection? I can't believe how much you're working. You make me look bad LOL.

Deegee, your car sounds fantastic! I had to go and look up tanzanite blue -- ooh la la! When will you get it? I may be misremembering... but didn't you say you wanted to move once you retired... ?

Yesterday I didn't get nearly as much done as I'd hoped. The walk on the new treadmill was good, and I figured out how to adjust the belt because it was a little off center and I didn't want it to rub on one side. Then I packed up an order, picked up some bubble wrap, went to the post office... and not much else... Today I'm taking the Deemobile in for an oil change. Liam keeps saying I might need new tires, but I swear they look pretty damn good to me. I'm half afraid to ask the dealer because they'll probably try to sell me some. Guess I need to get a penny out.

So I was up half the night madder than a wet cat. I was looking up some glasses I'd bought a few weeks ago to figure out how to price them and I found my own photos being used by another website. I messaged them through the contact us link to take them down, but I have no hope they will do that. I also filed a DMCA through google, but since Google doesn't control the link they can't do anything. You would think they'd at least take the link out of search results, but apparently not. I guess I need to start watermarking my photos. What a PITA. There's a way to insert text using the iphone photo editor. It's not fancy, but I guess it will do for now. That being said, if you gals have any ideas about a program that you like that's easy to use for watermarking please tell me!

Alright, off to throw some laundry in and pack up a bunch of blue glass I've already washed and processed so I can then wash and process some MORE blue glass.

Happy Thursday kids! (<-- I just had to look at my phone to see what day it is. )

Well the good news is my tires are fine. The bad news is my brakes are not. It is what it is -- I'm certainly not going to drive around with bad brakes! The have to order them in so it will be a little while. I'll be stopping slow and far back until them LOL.

I spent a good amount of time watermarking photos yesterday. I'm starting with just the first photo in a listing for the ones I've put up recently (I don't still have the pics from the old ones). I did a bunch on Etsy and Ebay, but I need to do my site too. I am seriously MAD about this.

This morning I went for a 10K walk outside. I know I have a brand new treadmill that I've used exactly once, but it is just perfect out (high sixties and sunny) so I took advantage of it. Now I'm sitting here with ice on my knee for fifteen minutes and then I'll hop in the shower.

Today's agenda: the never ending pile of blue glass... Plus an order to pack and a trip to the post office. Things are Out Of Control here. :cheeky:

Marcy-that would be too cool to track a new car from overseas. Especially going through the channel. I didn’t know they had technology for that kind of thing! My current plan is to finish 2024. I won’t work past June 2025. I realized I have a lot of vacation days, and I could take a week off every month through June, as well as other days here and there. That and knowing I can walk out at any time just may keep me going. That’s too bad the buyer won’t give you something wiggle room on moving out. That adds an extra headache to the whole thing.

dee*jay- I’d like to say I can’t believe someone would steal your pictures, but I guess I can believe it. What a PITA to have to watermark everything. You do take spectacular pics! We plan to move out of WV when we both retire. I’m not looking forward to selling the house. When we moved here, we donated all of our furniture except the beds, and got rid of so much stuff. Sadly, we’ve accumulated back so much stuff.

My current car is a 2022 BMW X3 M with 38,000 miles on it, and it already needs its 3rd set of tires. I know you both have to buy tires for a Porsche and those are pricey. But mannn…$2,200 for 4 tires for my car every year just makes me mad. My car wears a bald stripe right in the center of each tire and there is plenty of tread elsewhere. It causes a lot of road noise. I’m not getting an M this time and I’m losing some horsepower, but I’ll make do with 375hp. I’m getting an X5 instead of an X3, so it’s a little bigger. I pick it up this evening! Right now I’m at the salon getting my grey taken care of. My niece is getting married Saturday and I don’t want to see a big grey stripe on the top of my head in pictures. Have a great evening!

Happy rainy Friday kids!

Deegee, I've gotten rid of all of my furniture type stuff, although I still have a bunch of home accessory items, and when (if!) I buy a little cottage somewhere I'll have to start over. Of course that sounds like FUN to me. I'm crazy, I know! Your tire situation intrigues me. The only thing I can think of is over-inflation, but I'm sure someone smarter than me would have figured that out for you by now. We really need some pics of the new car though!!!

Today I got up later than normal and by the time I packed up three orders it was time to go to the post office, UPS, and then head to a couple of estate sales. I got everything I wanted at both of them, but managed to tweak my back carrying some heavy Christmas dishes up out of the second one. Ugh. So now I'm sitting here with ice on my back, wine at my left hand and chocolate at my right. Hopefully I'll be able to get to the local auction tomorrow, but right now... YOWCH.

Happy Sunday kids!

Checking in from the land of the wounded. Tweaked my back on Friday night. Ugh. Yesterday I managed to go to the local auction, but was out of there in just a couple of hours. I got a few random things... and I Bought A Set Of Christmas Dishes. From now on I'm not even going to type that out, I'll just say "IBASOCD"

When I got home I unloaded the car, which I felt like I had to do since it was about a zillion degrees and I didn't want painted dishes to sit out there. They probably would have been fine, but who knows. Then I sat on one of the big firm chairs in the living room with ice on my back and wine in my hand for a few hours. Liam got home around five and we had pizza for dinner. I was flat on my back in bed by eight.

Today I'm on the upswing, but trying not to be stupid. I'm icing now and got my back brace out of the closet (and why in the he!! didn't I think to wear that yesterday?!? I've got three boxes of dishes up on the counter so I don't have to bed over at all and I'm going to sort through those standing up. Other than that, nothing to report.

dee*Jay- oh no go hurting your back! It’s been a few years (knock on wood) since I have been down with my back. The last time I did the wild and crazy move of turning around. That’s embarrassing! You know… How’d you hurt your back? Oh, I turned around. I hope you’re feeling better. You know, wine is a muscle relaxer and also a sleep aid if you drink enough. My tire problem was definitely not over inflation. In the less than 3 years I had it, I was at the dealer 5 times with tire issues. I think they couldn’t get it aligned properly or something. It was time for that car to go.

My niece’s wedding on Saturday was absolutely beautiful, even though it was 1,000 degrees and it was an outdoor wedding. By the time the reception got going, most of the women had their hair pulled up in makeshift buns or ponytails, makeup was all smeared and everybody was sweaty and gross. At least we all looked the same! They handed out paper fans, which was a huge help. Matt had ice packs in his pockets. But my niece had the wedding she had always dreamed of, so it was all good. I haven’t got a good pic of my new car. I’m having it ceramic coated soon so maybe I can get a good pic then. It’s impossible to capture how pretty the blue is, especially when the sun hits it. I love it! Have a great evening!! IMG_9325.jpeg

Here’s a pic as I was leaving work today. I think it looks silky, velvety in this sunlight. Up close it has a sparkly, glowy shimmer. IMG_9371.jpeg

Hi Kids!

Deegee, I love your new car. It’s my favorite color too. I’m with you on stress on selling a house and moving. I will be relieved once we’re moved and if closing goes as planned. Our salesman told me how to track my car. I knew when it was loaded, when the cargo ship left and when it was heading down the channel going in to Houston. It was exciting. Having a lot of vacation time to use up will make it nice. It’s nice having that luxury of knowing you can walk out anytime you like. Where would you guys move to after retiement? No matter how much stuff you donate, there’s still a lot and it multiplies like rabbits. I am so glad your niece had the wedding of her dreams, sorry it was so hot. Why did your care wear out the center of your tires? That sounds unusual, annoying and expensive! Never mind, I see you answered that, but you’d think the dealer would fix it under warranty. That’s not right.

Dee Jay, Friday a whole house inspector and the buyer is coming for an inspection. Then Monday, a plumber inspector who’s also doing a sewer scope, plus inspectors for electrical, heating and the roof. WTH? We gave the realtor the certificate of a new roof. Let’s hope the inspectors aren’t friends or relatives of the buyers. That’s great the treadmill is working good for you. Darn that the Deemobile needs new brakes. Those are important. That is so rotten someone is using your photos. I’ve started packing up some of my glasses and dishes. I need to go pick up some wine boxes to pack more glasses.

We had a busy weekend. Saturday was our 33rd anniversary that we started celebrating early in the morning at the eye doctor. Do we know how to celebrate or what? We ran errands, picking up packing materials then came home and got busy. I’ve only got a few room partially done. I ordered 6 nylon packing bags for about $5 each from Amazon. I am hoping they’ll be good for clothing. We got in TBE to look around. There’s still a lot to get done. The internet isn’t even run to the house yet. Marty requested 2 dedicated plugs on each corner outside for cameras that they didn’t do. We’ll see if they get it ready for a walk through by about the 12th.

As for moving, we got permission to put stuff in the garage on the 18th, then move in on the 19th. That’ll be a huge PITA plus we’ll have to get a hotel room, on the first night of the local big rodeo so hotels will be full and prices will be high. Counting down the days.

Happy Wednesday kids!

Deegee, that car is The Bee's Knees! REALLY gorgeous! I could have done any number of seemingly normal things that resulted in my back issue. My best guess though is carrying several boxes of dishes upstairs from a basement at an estate sale. LOL to Matt having ice packs in his pockets! Several years ago I had one of my infamous giant pumpkin carving parties in the parking lot of a building I lived in and I put those hand warmer things in my bra because I had a cute Jack-o-Lantern T-shirt and didn't want to cover it up with a jacket. They didn't feel all that hot, but I had square red marks on my boobs for about a week.

Curby, we use those big blue Ikea bags for a lot of things, including taking packages to the post office every day. When we got ours they just had the ones that are open on the top but now I see they have zippered ones too. They're super cheap and made of IRON as far as I can tell. We've been using these for several years now and never had a single rip or tear or any issue with a handle coming off. So if you need any more bags you might consider ordering them off the Ikea site. If all of the items aren't done by closing do you get a punchlist and hold back some $ in escrow until everything is finished?

Well I'm sad to report that I'm still the walking wounded. Yesterday, out of sheer desperation, I googled stretches for herniated disc, and I've been doing a bunch of them every few hours. Today I'm somewhat better, but frankly I think it's less due to the stretches and more due to time.

I've managed to do three listings both yesterday and today, but it's a far cry from the 6-8 I like to crank out in a day. Everything I'm taking pictures of at the moment came out of some random boxes that have been sitting behind the sofa in the family room for about three years now (yes, really). A bunch of stuff got donated or just outright thrown away, but there were also things that had jusssssst enough value to make them worth listing. Ugh. What a chore!

Liam is off tomorrow, of course. The ferals are going to a baseball game with friends and then sleeping over at their house. This weekend Liam and I are planning on going to a friend's cabin in Wisconsin Friday night, and then we've got dinner with other people on Sunday. Other than that, pretty low key!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, I totally missed that you tweaked your bad. That sounds painful and it’s been lasting for days. I hope the icing, stretches and back brace helps and it gets better soon. Packing around dishes is rough work, they are heavy. LOL to your heat packet mark. Sounds like something I’d do. Thanks for the heads up on those IKEA bags. The ones I got seem quite heavy duty. I haven’t packed anything in them yet, but will soon. I’m trying to do about an hour plus each day during the week. I forgot tomorrow is a holiday. I think I’ll do some work. I have about seven videos I need to get ready for audio so I’ve got them posted through closing. I’ll be off line for about 4 days around then.

A friend came over for lunch and cards today. She picked up pizza for us for lunch.

Marty got sick - he thinks from Culver’s - so he’s been playing a couch potato to two days. He did get the pictures all taken down and the little holes patch. I HATE watching him working on the two hanging in our stairwell. He took down the large clock over the fireplace, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve looked up there and there’s no clock. I went and got my little Tiffany clock to put there. At least I can see the time when I look over there.

I got a hat and one mitten done for another niece. Our nephew’s kids are coming Monday to take a bed, two dressers, two nightstands, a deck, a bookcase and several crock pots. Yay, less to move. That leaves the guest bedroom without a dresser, but that’s fine with me. Less tempting for someone to move in with us for two months. Ha! I was using those dressers for sheets, blankets, knitting stuff and other things. TBE will have a linen closet so that’ll work for most of the stuff. I need to get rid of more stuff.

Hi Kids!

Darn that today was a holiday. I spent half of my day packing. We have TOO much stuff. I did go do my lifting before I got too tired. I spent the afternoon watching movies and knitting.

Tomorrow is the first of five inspections ordered by the buyer. I’m all nervous about them. I’ll be SOOOO glad when we sign on the dotted line.

Hi Kids!

The whole house inspection was a regular anal probe for the house. The buyers came too. The husband talked to us a bit, she never said a word. Their realtor came with them plus the lady that did the inspection. We were in the den. It sounded like they were breaking things and she actually did break / crack the roof in the garage. She went up in the attic and stepped on something she thought was a 2x4 that broke through the drywall. It's not a hole, but it's cracked. I hope she didn't fall or hurt herself. The realtor said they'd fix it after the move in. We'll see if the inspectors coming on Monday will gripe about it.

Marty decided he was done with work by the time they showed up this morning, so we went out for lunch. A luxury for me during the week. He feels better but doesn't not quite normal yet.

My packing plan is limited today. I think I'll work on the closest in the laundry room. Maybe. I haven't decided yet. We're going to Colorado tomorrow to pick up some wireless speakers for our living room TV. Our current system is all corded and runs through a tuner. We have wiring in the floor here to run the wires. We didn't have them set that up at TBE.

I ran errands. On closer inspection. That ladies foot had to come through the ceiling. It’s lucky she didn’t fall through. My car would have broken her fall, but I’m sure she would have been hurt and my car would not have looked the same.

Happy Saturday kids!

Curby, holy cow on the lady stepping where she shouldn't and almost coming through the garage ceiling! I'm surprised you were there; in this area the buyers and the sellers never meet until they get to the closing table, and even then it's pretty uncommon as most people just let their attorney's take care of everything. Your inspection process also sounds a lot more involved than ours. It's typically one of the contract contingencies and gets done right after the contract is signed. There's usually one inspector and he/she takes care of everything. There can be additional items that require specialists (like radon or lead paint), but that's not common.

Well this has been one long painful week. I'm still not 100%, but I have had to squeal in pain today so I'm considering that an improvement. I even managed to unload / reload the dishwasher... but I'm not going near the case of water in the laundry room that needs to get put in the fridge.

Yesterday Liam and I went to visit some friends who have a cabin about an hour and a half north of here. We took their boat across the lake for dinner, and then went back to the house and watched the last half of Jaws. This morning we headed out early because I had two orders to pack up and get to the post office and Liam wanted to go to Costco. Now I'm sitting on the big square chair in the living room and contemplating a nap. As you can tell, excitement abounds!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, I hope your back is doing better by now. I swear I answered this the other day. Your trip to dinner sounds fun and I watched the end of Jaws that night too.

We went to Colorado this weekend and picked up a new surround sound system that is wireless. Marty had to try the sound bar out when we got home, but left the other things boxed. We picked up the wine fridge too for the coffee bar. They had a really cute retro mini fridge that was turquoise. It looked like a small 50’s fridge. Marty kept saying “no”. I wonder why?

I successfully avoided backing for several days now. I best get on it. I did finish all my knitting projects until we move. I’ll post the baby mittens picture. They are so cute. They took me all of about 20 minutes each.

The buyers came again today with the inspectors. I was surprised. I don’t know if this realty company does this all the time, or if the buyers wanted to have them. They were very thorough. It was not only another anal probe but almost like the Spanish Inquisition.

It was rather a zoo around here. My sister, her son and another son’s wife came to get some furniture we were getting rid of before moving. So they were here packing the back of a pickup. We ordered in pizza for lunch and the realtor, buyers and four inspectors showed up. Marty talked to them all a bit. I got good news from the roof inspection that it was fine but there were a few spots where footprints, etc. were there because it was hot the day they did the roof. My sister talks a lot so I missed what they were all saying in the basement. They HATED our sensor switch and it is a 3-way switch so Marty will have to switch that out. He put it in the door from the garage, it was great when you come in with hands full and the light just comes on. I heard them say two drains were slow. The contract has till the 11th to ask for repairs. I don’t think they can ask for cosmetic issues, but we will see. I’ll be SOOOOOOO glad once everything is done.

Happy Tuesday kids!

Curby, my back is still jacked up. I think the problem is I never REST. The best it feels is when I get out of bed in the morning, after being flat and immobile for a long period of time. But then I spend a day being active and I'm screwed all over again. Ugh. Those mittens are so cute! Was the fridge a Smeg? I love retro looking appliances in cool colors! Hopefully the buyers won't ask for anything else. Here, if it works it passes. Cosmetic stuff is the new owners problem.

Yesterday I went downtown to have lunch with friends. Liam had sold a piece of equipment to someone near O'Hare and I virtually had to drive right past them to get downtown so I was volun-told to take it. No problem. When I was about fifteen minutes away the guy texted that he was now at a different location and I'd need to drop it there instead. WTF. I really had no choice at that point, even though it took me due west AWAY from the direction I had to go for lunch, but I had it in the back of my car so what could I do? Anyway, I dropped it off and just got to the city a little later than expected.

After lunch I high tailed it out of town as quickly as I could in the hopes of avoiding traffic. As it was, it still took me about an hour and a half to get back to The North Estate, but it's not like I was missing anything high on the Thrill O Meter here so it didn't really matter.

Today I cleared some things off the counter that I've been trying to list for over a week now and also did a couple loads of laundry. Now I'm sitting here with ice on my back wondering what the dinner plan is going to be!

Hi Kids!

Dee Jay, I hate to hear your back is still bothering you. I am opposite, the less I move, the worse my knees are when I do move. Aren’t those mittens too cute? They were quick too. The fridge was a Best Buy brand called Insignia. I don’t know who makes them.

We haven’t heard anything yet from the buyers. Let’s hope they aren’t making a LONG list. I’m with you on cosmetic stuff. We did go get in line at the post office today to turn in the change of address - 2 weeks late. We were lucky when we walked in, there was a very short line. Only one person was working. He gave me the form to fill out and by the time I had it done, the line was out the door. We were there over an hour.

Nice of you to be the delivery person and had to change locations for the delivery.

We ran out to the house today and there was someone working, we think it was the electrician. We were told we couldn’t get in this week because there will be a lot of people working. Our walk through will be early next week. They haven’t painted the outside yet and there’s rain coming in the forecast.

We went out for supper today and I enjoyed a glass of wine. I did manage to get some work done today too.

Marcy-wow! I can’t believe that lady put her foot through the ceiling! She’s lucky she didn’t do more damage. Part of our attic is floored, but I have never been up there. We never met the previous owners of our current house until the closing. The woman was so nasty that both the husband and realtor called us afterwards to apologize. The mittens are cute! I can crochet but not knit. I need to learn.

dee*jay-you do strike me as someone who can’t sit still and rest! I hope you start feeling better. I broke my tibia really high up under my knee in 2022 and it’s been acting like a real jerk lately. Mornings are the worst. Isn’t it great to be volun-told to do something? Especially when you end up having to go out of your way. I thought you had a Porsche and a Lexus. You got rid of the Lexus?

Thanks for the compliments on my new car. I’m loving it! I have been working a lot of long days and weekends the last few weeks. I woke up this morning feeling exhausted and headachy. I only worked 3 hrs from home today, then I sat in my car punching buttons to see what things did. The sales guy explained things to me, but I’m more of a punch that button and see what happens kind of person. I also did laundry today, so the excitement was off the charts in this house! Have a great evening!!

Hi Kids!

Deegee it sounds like fun to play with the buttons in your new car. I do that when I first get the car and then can’t remember how to do anything a year later when something comes up. Wow, that lady sounds quite nasty, especially if her husband even called to apologize. I don’t get people like that. Those tiny mittens were so cute. I should knit up some for my teddy bears. I can crochet, but I have to watch and count every stitch. I don’t have to pay much attention to knitting. I hate to hear about breaking your tibia. Both my knees get stiff sleeping, so I’ve been putting a fluffy thick sock under them at night. It seems to help. I like the word volun-told That is spot on.

Dee Jay, I hope your back is doing better.

The inspection report came in. Some was valid, some was petty. They simply want $2100 off and they’ll fix them themselves. We accepted. Onward and I best get packing again.

Supposedly they are working on TBE feverishly this week. Not. We are getting our walk through on Saturday at 2 p.m. We’ve gone out most days since Friday and haven’t found anyone working on it. They haven’t painted the outside yet either and it’s afternoon/evening rainy season.

I got three more videos ready today to record audio. I need to get them all done and scheduled through the 24th so I can pack my mic.

Take care.

DeeGee, I have a Porsche and an Audi now, but I DID have a Lexus (two of them in a row actually, for a sixteen year span). But the last one I had tried to kill me three times in six months. I would be going down the highway at 80 MPH and it would SLAM to a maximum speed of about 25 MPH and the dashboard would light up like a Christmas Tree. The first time it happened the local dealer up here "fixed" it. I was back in the shop literally the next day after picking it up. It ran for a couple of months and then the third time I went to a different dealership to get it fixed. At that point I was out of warranty and it cost me $$$. I was SO P!SSED. By the time I picked it up from the dealer I had already negotiated a deal on a new Audi, and I drove straight from the Lexus dealer to the Audi dealer and did the trade. I realize this is totally out of character for the brand, but I will NEVER buy another Lexus.

Curby, I would have done the same thing -- give 'em $2100 and be done with it. I really hope there is a big crew out at TBE right now working on stuff! My back is GETTING better. I spent the morning washing dishes and glasses and now I'm sitting here with a heating pad taking a break before I finish washing up the last service for eight. My hope was to get photos done today too but I spent and hour and a half talking to my new social media person, and another hour and a half talking to my best friend, and it's hard to wash dishes and talk on the phone at the same time without the person on the other end of the line feeling like they're drowning LOL.

Our weather here is pretty great right now -- and would be perfect for a nice long walk outside... if I could actually manage that! Instead I remain cooped up inside, doing my stretches about every two hours and trying to avoid the stairs as much as possible because something about that movement sends a shooting pain down my spine. Yowch!

All of the neighbors seem to be tag teaming cutting the grass today. One will put the mower away and the next one will start right up. If it weren't for the audio book I'm playing I'd be driven crazy by the constant drone!

OK, it's been fifteen minutes here with the heating pad, better get back at it.

Hi Kids!

Just think, we're all German car ladies. Vroom, vroom.

Dee Jay, I remember your Lexus acting us. I'd pass on another one too. Yes, we were happy to esign "accept" and hopefully have a smooth signing next Friday. One more week and a day to go. We did run out to TBE. There were two guys working. One was doing something inside with all the doors wide open and one was caulking outside so they can paint. Rain is in the forecast every day for the next week. Our walk through is Saturday afternoon. We made a long list of things to check.

I'm glad your back is feeling better. I hope it continues to improve. Good plan to avoid the stairs. Standing there washing dishes probably agitates it a bit too. Last night (and even now) I have a twitching in my right buttocks area, Marty reassures me it's from lifting last night that I did something. I woke up about 3:15 a.m. I think Marty had just got up and that is what woke me up. I was wide awake until about 5 a.m. and slept for another hour. That's when I noticed that muscle twitching. It could be stress too. Usually it's my eyelid that starts twitching from stress.

Isn't that the way it goes with neighbors? They can't all mow at the same time. Seems like that happens with snow blowers too.

I guess I'm going to go start packing some clothes. I've successfully avoided packing since Friday.

Laters,

marcy-glad you were able to resolve the inspection issues so easily! I bet you will be so relieved to be done with the whole thing. I broke my leg while I was working remote, so most people don’t realize I even did it. When they see me limping from sitting too long or having a bad day, they think I’ve freshly hurt myself. I broke it in November 2021, not 2022 like I thought. Time is really rushing by! I worked from home March 2020-April 2023, so I lump that whole timeframe into a single very long year.

dee*jay-thats insane your car tried to kill you like that. Wowza! I can see why you got rid of it. They’re picking up my car on Monday for its detailing and leaving a Lexus. Yikes! I hope it doesn’t have murder on its mind. I’m on my 4th BMW, and the only one I had any trouble with is the one I just got rid of, and that was the tire issue. Standing for a long time is killer on the back. Keep doing your stretches, take rest breaks and use that heating pad! Have you alternated ice and heat, or do you think it’s too far along for the ice?

My brain has shut down for the week and I need it for one more day. Tomorrow is going to be a struggle. After work I finally got around to picking up some jewelry I had repaired. They’ve been ready for weeks, but the store is not exactly in a convenient location for me. The guy I always went to who was across the street from work closed up shop during covid. This other place is family owned and has been around for decades. A couple people who worked there came over to look at the sapphire I’ve been wearing as an engagement ring and gave me lots of compliments. Made me feel like a superstar! And that was my excitement for the day. Have a wonderful Friday!

Deegee. I will be very relieved when all this is done. They are doing an appraisal on this house Monday. That should be fine. Time does fly. The only bright side to when you broke your tibia, is working remotely. Getting around with a cast, isn't fun. I fell and broke my wrist in December 2022. We were heading in to my favorite "sapphire" store in Denver, I walked through a puddle of water and it was icy and I went right down. I still say, it was the cheapest trip to the jewelry store ever. All my coats have cuffs, so in the coldest months of the year I was wearing a rain coat. Let's hope the Lexus you get tomorrow isn't a Killermobile. I do remember your jeweler was across the street from your office. I am glad you found someone else. And they obviously know a pretty sapphire when they see one. I hope you make it through tomorrow.

marcy-ouch to breaking your wrist on the way to the jewelry store. I hope it healed well. I was really glad I didn’t have to get myself to the office when I broke my leg. I did go in for a few days several months later and had to use one crutch because I couldn’t put full weight on my leg. I parked close to a back entrance which was near my office, so I snuck in and out without too many people stopping me to ask what I had done. I made it though the day today on fumes. More than one person told me I needed to go home and rest, including my boss, so I must have looked lovely! We’re thinking about taking a long weekend trip to the mountains or a week at a beach if we can find a house to rent. I could use a getaway. Today is Matt’s birthday and he wanted to eat at a restaurant an hour and a half away. We got home at 11 and I don’t think I can stay awake much longer. I’m going to sleep hard tonight. Have a wonderful Saturday!

Deegee, it was a good time to be able to stay home for you. Did your leg heal okay? Sorry it still bothers you at times. It sounds like you had a rough day, I think that’s a good idea to plan a weekend away. Happy Birthday to Matt. I did heal okay and quickly. I was lifting again in late February. It took a while to get endurance strength back in that hand, I couldn’t get groceries from the car to the kitchen counter until about May or June. The thing that lingered for over a year was my thumb joint. It was the most painful spot while I was wearing the cast. And then it bugged me off and on for months. I couldn’t take knitting for more than about an hour. It would get so painful at night, I’d have to sleep with the removable brace at night. When I was at the ER, they said that joint showed severe arthritis damage. That joint is now larger than the other hand, I wonder if there was a crack in the joint they missed on the X-ray? Either way, other than the enlarged joint, it doesn’t bother me now. At least my cast was royal blue, so that was the sapphire I ended up with from the jewelry store. I hope you have a good night’s sleep.

TBE was partially painted tonight.

Take care.
Marcy
