Happy Tuesday!

Dee Jay, I thought you were originally going to move in mid March so my memory is better than I thought. The next 5 weeks will seem to take forever while you wait to move. We didn’t think they’d get our house done by our closing date but they did. They sure put in a lot of time on our house the last week or so. I am glad to hear you like the brick they’ve put in so far. Rats that they had to order more corner bricks. I agree with you the price they quoted me for the ring is very high. The lady called me today and seemed quite put out that I wasn’t ready to place the order. I asked for F VS2 stones but for some reason they quoted me D VS1 stones. She also informed me finding that high of quality stone in that carat range would be difficult. I am still very undecided and have all sorts of ideas in my head. I would like a thick band with an oval solitaire, a three stone ring with emeralds as side stones, a bezel set ring and that is just what I was looking at tonight. I’ll have fun shopping and dreaming for a few months. I need that mental break from reality too.

Hi Deegee. Is it still snowing there?

I slept until 5 today. Woo hoo! I was at the county clerk office by 11 and got a different person. She didn’t like how I filled out the previous affidavit so she filled out a different one. I pay for the new title then they send me to the auto license side to get a “release” which they check off something, gave me a piece and paper and then I had to go back to the auto title office to get the title. I am like “seriously”? That was kind of silly. Oh well what are you going to do? I headed to Ford and handing over the title and getting my check was quick and painless. On my way to the bank Marty called and offered to help with those errands but since I was almost done we met for lunch. A bonus on my outing! We met at a pizza by the slice / sandwich place and I ordered 2 pieces of pizza and could only eat one so now I have a piece for lunch tomorrow.

Marty made us roasted veggies and some stir fry type of meat for supper.

It is snowing like crazy again tonight. Very wet snow so the roads will be slick in the morning. Marty already agreed to take me to work. Sweet.

Take care.
Marcy

Happy Wednesday kids!

Marcy, I’m afraid the next few weeks as I’m waiting to move will BOTH seem to take forever AND fly by as I watch the construction crawl along at a (seeming) snail’s pace! Don’t rush into your ring, take your time and oogle and google everything! I remember when I was shopping for a new setting for the brick and I became totally obsessed! As for the silly things that happen in this process, I’m 100% with ya…

Last night I went over to check on the progress of the bricks and blew a fuse walking in the door so I had to muddle around in the electrical panel in the dark. I finally got the lights back on, and the bricks are pretty much up to the level of the windows on the mail wall—woo hoo! I tried to take a picture but it was too dark. In the middle of the room there is a metal beam that’s about 6” square. It had to stay because it’s holding up the building LOL, but it looked ridiculous because it was so tiny in the middle of that massive space so I had the carpenter frame out a bigger enclosure and the brick guy is going to do that too. I went back and forth between 20” and 24” and finally went with the 24”. It looks MASSIVE to me, but too late now. The CB said it will look great once everything around it is done and there are things to give it some scale. I hope so!

Today I am starting a diet. Not sure WHAT kind of diet, but a diet nonetheless. Things have to get reined in or I'm going to have to buy bigger pants!

Happy Wednesday! :wavey:

Dee Jay, yes the next 5 weeks will seem to take forever and fly by at the same time while you are waiting to get your new place done and move. We went by our house every day just to see the progress. I am definitely not going to rush my decision on a piece of bling to buy. Marty threw out the suggestion tonight I get a different diamond for my solitaire. I would go up to an E at about the same size or a little bit larger. My ½ ct was an E ASG0 and I honestly wish I still had that diamond. It was an amazing diamond (IMHO). The place I got it from only has GIA EX in that color and carat range right now. I ran the HCA numbers on one I was interested in and it came in a 3.9. Aak! I am not saying GIA EX aren’t gorgeous diamonds but the ¾ ct I had was no where near as well cut as my ½ ct was or the 1 ct I have now. Good thing I don’t have the money to buy anything; it will keep me from impulse buying. Rats for blowing a fuse last night. I am so anxious to see a picture of your bricks and tile and well pretty much everything!

I also attempted to be more diligent at food today. I had cereal for BF, 1 piece of leftover pizza for lunch and we went to Olive Garden for supper. We had the low fat dressing on our saled, and I only ate one breadstick. But yes I did have a glass of wine. I got cheese raviolis and brought most of them home.

After supper we wandered around Sams Club and picked up snacks for Marty’s first night of poker in the Killer Rabbit Casino. It sounds like we are going to have quite a crowd.

We had the electrician come inspect my parent’s house today. He didn’t find a lot to fix. Things like outlets need converted back to the original 2 prongs, some wiring here and there and also they want the smoke detectors replaced. The plumbing and heating inspection is next week and the roof inspector probably went by yesterday. If their findings are reasonable we will just have them fix them so there are no questions if someone wants to buy the house.

Laters,
Marcy

Happy Friday kids!

Curby, isn't it amazing that you can take what you *think* is a good diamond, run it through the HCA, and get a lousy score back? It seriously makes me doubt my ability to judge a diamond by my own eyes! Good idea to take your time though because the things I buy on impulse often tend to turn into regrets later.

The brick guys are rolling right along (I think they'll be done Monday) and the master bath is drywalled so now I have a sense of what that will look like. By virtue of where it sits the bed will be in set back a little so it will *seem* like it's own area when you're in bed, but it will also feel totally open from the other areas of the unit. Excellent! I met the shower door guy this morning at 7 and he gave me an awesome price on the doors for the small bath, the glass panel for the master shower (which is ENORMOUS now that I can see it framed out!) and the mirrors for both bathrooms. I think I got the "repeat customer" discount since this is my 8th (or is it my 9th?) bathroom with him. OK, off to do taxes taxes taxes!

Marcy-I love it that you're enabling me! It's funny you said my 3-stones looked good on both the iPad and computer. I checked it on my regular iPad and the mini, just to be sure! I'm good with stones in the G-I range. A ring with 3 ideal D's would be beautifully blinding!! I just can't decide what to do so I'm going to continue holding off on doing anything for now. We did get 1/2 inch of ice and 8 inches of snow on Monday as predicted. It got down to negative numbers that night, and it has been in the 50's every day since, so there is very little of that white stuff hanging around. Taking care of this estate business could be a full time job for you. Glad the electrician didn't find much. Hopefully the other inspections go as well. You sure don't sleep much! Some nights I wake up between 3-4 and I'm done for the night. Other times I sleep so soundly that I don't hear my alarm go off at 7, and Matt gives me a big kick to wake me up.

Dee*Jay-my little brain just can't picture these things you're describing! I can't wait to see pics when it's all done. Glad to hear the shower door guy gave you a good price. He should give you a frequent customer discount! I like the way you think with the "wrap" idea. I keep going back & forth between a solitaire and 3-stone. That would solve it! I work across the street from a jeweler who specializes in custom work. He's done a great job on the pieces he's repaired for me so I may need to pay him a little visit. He doesn't have much in display cases, but he carries only AGS and GiA stones. He told me once he could make me anything my little heart desired. Gotta like a guy like that!

My respiratory thing finally kicked my butt. While I was down, my ears decided to get in on the action. I now have a double ear infection (can't hear a darn thing) along with a sinus and respiratory infection. I am most definitely down. I have a new stash of medicine to take, and I'm going to be a good girl this time and take everything as directed, and I'm not going to wash down the antibiotic with beer or wine. As a matter of fact, I'm swearing off alcohol for the next 10 days. In preparation, I drank a whole lot of Dos Equis Amber at the Mexican restaurant last night. My entryway table and the coat rack Matt wanted so badly came in last week. I had planned for today to shop for a picture and lamp for the table, and then swing by the furniture store to order the dining room table and buffet but I have a feeling I'm going to spend this whole weekend on the couch. It's a beautiful day outside. Lily is sunning herself in the middle of the driveway. She looks quite happy out there. Have a great weekend!

Ha! My 10-days without alcohol came to an abrupt end on day 1! After I took a shower, I thought I felt better so we went out to dinner. I ordered tea, which tasted nasty. I think it was made with tap water. Of course to get that yucky taste out of my mouth, I had to order my favorite beer. I tried,I really did.

Marcy-most of my pictures didn't move from my old iPad to my new one. I have the whole cloud thing set up, and a bunch of pictures did make it to my new device. Any idea how to get the others other than synching to a computer? The whole computer iTunes synch thing is the reason I switched to android for my phone. I think it's a pain!

Hi. We've had a busy weekend. Will post more tomorrow.

Deegee, Marty suggested making sure you've logged in to your iCloud account on your mini and that you've set it to sync your pictures. He said that should work just fine.

Deegee, now that I read your post again it sounds like some of them showed up and some of them didn't. My suggestion is maybe the file name on the ones that showed up is different than the ones that didn't. Like JPG worked and jpg did not, I've had that kind of weirdness happen before.

Marcy-I got them! I created a photo stream on my ipad 2, plugged both devices in and made sure they were on wifi, and then signed into iCloud on both of them. When the stream showed up on my mini, I moved the pics to the camera roll and sorted them into albums. Whew! There may have been an easier way, but this worked. Yay! I had tried the cloud backup a few times before, but ended up with only a handful of pictures. I bet you're right about the file name thing. My intention is to get my personal stuff off of the old iPad and offer it to my dad (but keep it on my data plan). He may not want it since he sees no use in all this modern computer stuff. I had planned to leave Netflix on there and he could watch shows or movies during chemo, read...whatever. I think he'd like texting the grand kids too. Especially if they texted him pictures throughout the day. Mom will have to talk him into it though.

Happy Warm, Sunny and Windy Sunday! Marty is off playing golf in Colorado.

Dee Jay, I have found horrible scores on AGS0 Platinum series diamonds and you know they are going to be beautiful diamonds. I think the gem certificate, the HCA scores and how they really “look” to you can all be deceptive. None of the above makes me feel comfortable enough with my final purchase to give up worrying “did I get the best I could?” I am so bad at buyers regret, remorse and doubt. That is awesome your bricks will be done tomorrow. How wonderful you received a “repeat customer” discount or at least got a great deal on your shower doors, panels and mirrors.

Deegee, I am glad to hear you got all of your photos on your mini. Are you enjoying it so far? I think giving your dad your old iPad would be an awesome present for your father. How is he doing? I think getting the grandkids to text him might be a great motivator for him to use the iPad. I am envious you have a nearby custom jeweler. I’d owe him money all the time. I am still all over the place on what I want to buy – but D stones would be amazing. Good news that your snow and ice melted right away. I have an estate question for which I was hoping you might have an answer. Based on a generic response the attorney gave me and what I find online – am I correct that a life insurance payment where I was named as beneficiary something I can just cash and split with my sisters now? From what I can tell those payments are not considered part of their estate. I definitely wish I slept more. I hate to hear your respiratory thing is kicking your butt. It sounds like it is attacking you about everywhere. I hope you get rested up and feel better. I’d have a beer too after drinking nasty tasting tea made with some of your local water. Are people still having “flu” rashes?

Friday night we had our inaugural Killer Rabbit Casino Poker Tournament. Marty had about 15 participants and 4 of us girls stayed upstairs and played Cards Against Humanity. It was a fun night. One lady brought a truffle like dessert with angel food cake, cool whip and chopped up toffee and another one brought a bowl of chocolate chip cookie dough without egg, eating them together was really a great combo. I stopped at one serving though since it was a total sugar fest. We had other snacks but I went for the dessert.

Yesterday we worked on the parents house and I think all of us felt like a semi had run over us but we got a lot of things rifled through (that is what it feels like) and hauled away. That friend of my dad’s who said he’d clean out the garage showed up with friends and they darn near cleaned out the garage. Then they brought down everything from the attic and filled up the garage again. The weird thing is this guys kids might be interested in buying the house. His wife even hinted their kids would probably just take the house as is (after inspections and things that need fixed) and clean it and clean it out. Marty said the way my dad’s luck always worked out and how his buddies were always there for him – he wouldn’t be surprised if those kids did buy it.

One of my sisters really ticked me off. My mother had a small inheritance from her aunt about 10 years ago and she never told either of my sisters how much she got. I knew but that is because my mom knew I wasn’t interested in her money or what she did with it. Even when we were riding around planning my dad’s funeral and talking about how much money was in their accounts both sisters were wondering where that went and how much it was. So on Saturday we are going through a stack of papers and old bank statements and the one sisters says “oh this is from Michigan” and starts looking at what was inside. She gets up and goes over to put a stack of paper and a big envelope in her box. I asked her what she just took and she pulls out the envelope says, “I wanted to look up who this was”. She then immediately takes her box to their truck. I found another envelope from the same place and it was all the information about my great aunt’s estate and what people inherited. I am so angry my sister would take that information and then flat out lie to my face she was only taking an envelope. I am comforting myself with the knowledge that now she knows how much money there was and she won’t see a penny of it. If she asks me again what my parents did with that money I think I will ask her how much money she and her husband made last year and what they did with it. Pshew. I feel better now.

I called my parents insurance company today (sadly there is no local agent) and I have to prove to them I am legally allowed to handle his affairs before they will talk to me.

Laters,
Marcy

Happy Monday kids!

Deegee, have you seen woobug’s ring? If not I will find a link for you. I think it really turned out beautifully and it solved the solitaire vs. three stone dilemma. I’m sorry you were so sick! How is your water situation BTW? I haven’t heard anything about it on the news for a while so I’m hoping you’re back to “normal.”

Curby, my bricks actually aren’t done yet because they ran out of corner bricks and have to get more. Argh. Patience is not my strong suite! The Killer Rabbit Casino Poker Tournament sounds like a blast! It would be totally awesome if your dad’s buddy’s son bought the house and everything in it. If someone offered me a dollar for my grandmother’s house and all the stuff I swear I’d take it!

Saturday was construction for the first half of the day and then I took a client to see some properties. She’s going to be a picky buyer, but I’m OK with that. I prefer she take more time on the front end than call me six months after closing to tell me she hates the place! Yesterday I went to HRB and then got incredibly inspired to scrub the he!! out of the bathroom. I won’t event tell you how long it’s been since the bathroom had a proper cleaning… yikes.

There was a bit of a blow up on my project. A little background: I’m using this really small company (family owned by a fellow real estate agent) for the carpentry and drywall. They aren’t moving fast enough (hey guys :wavey: I Have To Move Into This Place Some Day!!!) so one of the CB’s buddies is out of work and he’s helping them. He’s a plumber by trade but he knows a lot about construction. Anyway, yesterday I was at HRB and the CB was doing something in the master bathroom, which is framed out in that the 2 X 4s are up and the drywall on the exterior is attached, but not the drywall on the interior. Well he noticed there was a lot of flex in the framing when he was pounding something in so he took a closer look and then called his buddy to confirm. Apparently they aren’t gluing the drywall to the studs as well as nailing it (and CB's buddy said he asked them about half a dozen times while they were doing it and they said it was OK), which can be a problem down the line when things shift through settlement and then you end up with nail pops and other issues. So the CB called the guys and they were like, “we never glue, we only nail.” The CB said he doesn’t care what they typically do, he wants it done The Right Way on this project, and he even made them take down what they’d done so far and start over. The bad news is they also did the small bathroom, but I’m hopeful that won’t be a problem down the road. He was so p!ssed off he wanted them to take that bathroom apart too and start over, but I talked him out of it, especially since it’s been tiled and painted!

OH, AND thanks to the extreme weather the sidewalk behind my unit has cracked and heaved up, making it impossible to open the door to the parking lot. If there were a fire or some other emergency I and the people in the units above me would be trapped (their rear stairwell leads down to this exterior door too). I sent an email to the management company this morning saying this needed to be addressed IMMEDIATELY but of course I haven't heard back yet.

Every day is a new adventure with this property!

Happy Monday!

Dee Jay, woobug’s sapphire wrap is so pretty. I obviously saw it before and commented on it but the great thing about having a poor memory is everything is new again. I do recall they had to order more corner bricks for your place but it still sounds like they are coming along well on the ret of the bricks. I am not a patient person either. When I say something at work about being patient most of my employees just laugh at me. Weird. How frustrating they aren’t gluing the drywall to the studs. That sounds pretty scary to me as well. I am glad CB is there checking up on things. We were in our house daily checking on things until the builder finally sent out an email about staying out of the house while people were in there working. The sliding glass door downstairs was broke though so we could still get in at night to check things out. I’d sell my parents house for a dollar too. Heck I’d sell my sisters for a dollar. We have some fairly new tires that Marty mentioned putting in the local traders and my sister was hitting me up about that. I told her to take them and place the ad. Knock yourself out! Is the sidewalk messed up at the new place? I wasn’t quite sure. That is really rotten wherever it is!

Hi Deegee!

Work was okay today. I had several meetings today so it was 4 pm before I knew it. The last hour was tough though. I ran lots of errands at lunch. I got cash, gas, picked up mail, got a change of address form to fill out, bought groceries and dropped the “cold” stuff off at my parents house – their frig is completely empty except for water, Gatorade and soda so I had lots of room to store food for a few hours.

We had leftovers for supper so that was quick and easy.

Snow is on it’s way again. Stupid winter.

Take care.
Marcy

Marcy-I haven't done an estate in so long, I don't remember the answer to your question. A friend at work just closed his mother's estate, so I'll ask him tomorrow. The main thing that keeps me away from the jeweler across the street is the road between us! You risk your life crossing the street. The last time I walked to my eye doctor, I nearly got hit in the crosswalk with the WALK sign lit up. There are some good places to eat on the other side too, but we're too afraid to try to walk across the street! I recently discovered a home interiors store directly across from my building. I guess I'll drive over there some day. Your killer rabbit tournament (girl activities) sounds fun! Sugarfest indeed!! And wow-your sister. I understand your sentiments with the money thing, and wanting to sell them! Ha! And I love my iPad mini. Why didn't you tell me to get it sooner?

Dee*Jay-thanks for posting that link. When you mentioned it, I was thinking a wrap with sapphires would be really pretty, and that's what she got! I'd love to have one with bright blue sapphires. We shall see, but I bookmarked that link for future reference with the jeweler guy. That's too bad about the contractor, but a good thing you've got a guy on the inside! The contractor who built our house has a very good reputation of not taking short cuts, and doing a quality job. We could tell a difference when we looked at this house. I think that's one thing that drew us to it so quickly! Are they going to meet your gotta move deadline date? When we first moved to WV from Ohio, our new townhouse wasn't quite finished. The contractors were working on the day we were trying to move in. They finished the carpet the night before, and they were installing light fixtures and hooking up some plumbing on the day of. We had sold our house in Ohio...we HAD to move!

Our water crisis is being effectively swept under the rug. The smell is mostly gone, but it hits every now and then. The shower rashes haven't quite cleared up. It seems like he go away, and then you break out all over again. And I blame this never ending sinus/respiratory/double ear infection on the water. The day I went back to the doctor, she said pretty much everyone she had seen all week had the same thing, and people were having a rough time getting over it. I can't bring myself to drink it. Blech. Food today was really good because my antibiotic doesn't sit well with my stomach. I had yogurt for breakfast, an apple for lunch, and roast beef from a roast beef sandwich for dinner. No snacks. After 10 days of this, I hope my pants button easier! Have a great day tomorrow!

Happy Tuesday kids!

Curby, the sidewalk along the back side of the building going to out to the parking lot is cracked and heaved up a little because of the weather. If you just looked at it you would of course see the crack but not know that it isn’t level, but the door used to open and now it doesn’t. Good idea to tell your sister to take the tires on herself! Do you think she will actually do it though? Families… everyone’s got one!

Deegee, I have a three stone ring with a sapphire in the center and diamonds on the sides or I would have totally set my big diamond with side sapphires! And yes, builders are always down to the wire in terms of getting done. I’ve built an extra week (that none of the tradesmen know about) into the schedule between their work and the final finishing of the floors, but I’m all over them to get stuff DONE.

Last night I started Billy Ray for only the second time since Thanksgiving. Poor baby! Then I went over to the new place and I think the only thing that occurred there yesterday was delivery of a whole pile of materials. I could be wrong, but I really didn’t see other progress. And no more brick work was done, but the brick guy did say they soak the corner bricks overnight to cut down on the dust when they saw through them so maybe they were soaking the bricks yesterday and I missed that too. When I go over tonight through there better be some progress I can SEE. I also had to push the delivery of my sofas back to mid May. They have a shipment coming at the end of this month but obviously I can’t take them then, so I’ll get them on the next carrier. I could have had them come at the end of this month and had them stored for whenever I’m ready, but it was an extra $450 and for $450 I’ll wait a few weeks!

OK, off to tackle this giant pile of paper on my desk!

Marcy-I asked my friend abut the life insurance policy. He said he was instructed not to include it in the estate appraisememt because it would be paid directly to named beneficiaries. I asked mom to check with dad about the iPad, and she said he's receptive to the idea. I'll have to get everything set up for him and let him give it a try. You asked about dad and I forgot to answer. He's having a hard time. He's lost about 30 lbs since January. Food does not stay with him whatsoever so he has mostly quit eating and mom is a nervous wreck. His numbers are all over the place, so week before last they skipped treatment and pumps him full of fluids and potassium. He didn't get sick all week, but he had treatment last week and immediately got sick. They changed some meds today, so hopefully something will help. Thanks for asking. Hope you didn't get much snow! It was 75 today, 60 tomorrow with a low of 10 tomorrow night and snow predicted for Thursday.

Dee*Jay-I can't stop thinking about having my ring reset into a solitaire and having a wrap with bright blue sapphires made. I cannot turn my little brain off! I may have to risk my life to get across the street to the jeweler. As I was swerving all over the road dodging potholes on the way to work this morning, I wondered if you had decided to keep Billy Ray. Not sure why it crossed my mind at that particular moment... I think it was something along he lines of "Wow-my Acura handles really well as I swerve all over the place and off road in a few spots to avoid the moon craters. Speaking of handling really well, I wonder if Dee*Jay decided to keep Billy Ray..."

Work today flew by. Knock on wood, I think I may actually be feeling better. I still feel like I have a bubble on my head, but the ear and face pain were much better. I need to start working late because I have a project deadline in a few weeks, but I have mostly been helping out with my old job. Merging my department and another into one has put too much work on the new manager. She is so overwhelmed by it all so the former manager of the other department and I have been trying to help her get on her feet, but by doing so we're way behind on our project work. Food today was yogurt for breakfast, soup for lunch, and a small hamburger combo meal from Wendy's for dinner. My willpower for the day was not making it a biggie size! Lily and I took full advantage of the nice day and walked when I got home. Have a great day tomorrow!

Happy Tuesday!

Deegee, rats that a treacherous street keeps you from a great custom jeweler, good restaurants and home interior store. You may just have to drive over there. I am delighted to hear you like your mini. Thanks for checking with your friend about the life insurance and paying it to the estate. That is okay by me! That is wonderful your dad is receptive to using the iPad. I am so sorry to hear your dad is having a hard time and losing weight too. I hope the new meds make things better for him. It’s hard to eat when you feel miserable. I am sure your mom is a wreck as well. Give them my best even though they have NO clue who the heck I am. We had a brief snow today; only made it icy but tomorrow will be warm enough to melt everything. I’ll vote for you to set your diamond in a solitaire and get a blue sapphire wrap. That would look amazing! Your diamond is an ACA, right? I am glad to hear you are feeling better. Woo hoo for a walk in nice weather. It is nice having daylight after work. Of course, my sleep hasn’t adjusted to DST yet.

Dee Jay, I hope they get the sidewalk fixed for you soon. I would say opening a door is rather important. Speaking of Curby I pulled a new stunt today. It was icy at my parents house and when I backed out of the driveway I got up on the grass (it’s higher than the driveway) and off course came down hard on the sideway and little brick easement they have built up from the sidewalk. D’oh! I have cameras facing in 6 directions on my car and I still can’t seem to drive or back up without dinging something. I guarantee my sister would not take the tires and try to sell them. They are “too busy”. I bet Billy Ray really purred getting a chance to blow out the cobwebs. I would be glad to take it for a spin for you! Darn it anyway that you have to delay delivery of your sofas.

As Deegee’s day went, my flew by as well. Marty met the heating / plumbing guy for inspection at my parents house. The big things passed – furnace and water heater. There are some things need updated to meet code but I doubt it will be too costly. Still no word from the roofing company I called so I think we’ll call someone else tomorrow.

Marty dropped keys off at the Ford and Hyundai dealer for me. He asked them about the car lease and they STILL haven’t arranged with Hyundai to get the car returned to them. I called them again and they told me the dealer has to call them to arrange a pick up of the car then they auction it. After it is bought my dad’s account gets closed. Until then the bills will continue to pile up. Aargh.

About 4:15 today I had the manager of another department call me and get really rude, loud, condescending and he threw in a few curse words. I told him to calm down but he continued pretty much screaming at me. Then he calls me back that he figured it out why we hadn’t done what he requested– he hadn’t submitted the request to my department. Also 4 pm is our cut off for the day we couldn’t accommodate his request anyway. He called back and said something else snippy to me – I find my tolerance level very small these days so I went down to my boss’s office and complained about him. Mind you, I doubt anything will be said to him but I just wasn’t going to take it. I said he acted like a **** and I don’t have to take this **** at work. So there! I felt better.

Off to fill out some paperwork to get my parent’s mail forwarded.

Take care.
Marcy

Happy Wednesday kids!

Deegee, I still have my darling Billy Ray… for now. I will have to make some sort of decision soon, but I’m putting it off as long as possible. Of course the down side is the longer I wait the nicer the weather gets the more chance I will get to drive him the less change I will actually sell him!!! Yes, I think you should go to the jeweler. No, I do not think you should risk life and limb crossing the street! Take a drive on over there and see what he has to say. That being said, if you aren’t sure he can execute it PERFECTLY I would go with Whiteflash because you *know* they can do it. I’m all for supporting local businesses, but I’m also for getting exactly what you want. I can’t wait to see how this turns out if you go that route by the way because I really do love this idea. I’m living vicariously through you!

Curby, I totally forgot to chime in on the insurance question the other day. Yes, life insurance payments are (generally) excluded from the estate. There is some rule about the amount of premium payments versus the amount of the policy pay out (I can’t remember the exact details right now) but off the top of my head I don’t think it would apply in this case so I would just go with it! I was sad to delay my furniture, but not nearly as sad as I would be to have them covered in drywall dust and god only knows what else. Plus, it’s not like I don’t have other furniture to sit on until they arrive. But you know how it is—you want (translation: I want!) everything to be prefect right when you move in! And good for your for standing up for yourself!!! I don’t take sh!t at work. I’ve been known to hang up on people and when they call back I say, No, actually, we didn’t get cut off. I Hung Up On You Because You Are Being An *******.

As of last night the bricks are almost done on the wall. Hopefully they’ll finish that and do some of the column today. I did get the brick guy to commit that they will be out of there this week because the hardwood floor guy is going to start laying plywood on Monday. I met another one of my neighbors last night. She actually lives directly above one half of my unit (there are two units on the second floor for each unit on the first floor) and she said she hasn’t been bothered by the construction noise at all. Thank god because the last thing I want to do is piss off my neighbors before I even move in! I’ll have to make a point to meet the people in the other unit too. Although they are a bit heavy footed and because of that I am putting up an entire layer of sound absorbing drywall on my ceiling, but whatever. No place is perfect, right? At least that’s what I tell myself as I write check after check after check…

You gals will love this... So the tile guy just called me because the shower glass guy is there to measure and they can either cut the glass panel for the master shower 36" X 84" or they can make it so 36" X 84" shows beyond the 3/8" track, meaning they have to cut the panel 36-3/8" X 84-3/8". I have officially micro-managed this project to the point the guys won't even make a 3/8" decision with asking me. But really ---> Working for me must be:

Dee*Jay- that 3/8 thing is awesome! I love it! I think I once said on here that my house was so soundproof, I wouldn't hear someone working with power equipment outside of my bedroom window with kids screaming on a trampoline behind them. Last week in our big snow, apparently some neighbor kids used the hill in our back yard for sledding all day, and I didn't hear a thing. And they would have ended up right about at the driveway. Soundproofing is so wonderful, although I might have joined them had I known they were out there. Glad your neighbors haven't been bothered by the construction noise. I'm sure there has been lots of it! Surely people forgive construction noise, right? I kind of think that too about the jeweler. I have seen a portfolio of his work, but it seems like so many people provide their jeweler a with plenty of pictures and stress certain things, only to end up with a bulky ring they don't like. I've really been debating that.

Marcy-there is a certain member who goes off on a profanity laced tirade every time she calls. Our conversations have got shorter and shorter because I have stopped trying to calm her down and hang up instead! She got me first thing in the morning a couple of weeks ago. She go married, so I didn't recognize the last name on the caller ID and I picked up the call. She started her tirade pretty quickly and I said "m'am," and then I decided I wasn't in the mood for her and hung up. (Our attorney followed up with a letter telling her she was to contact our attorney directly in the future. He-he! That letter made me feel better.) Yes, my stone is a H SI1 eye clean ACA. The inclusion is a cloud, which is hard to find even with a loupe, and it doesn't take away from the sparkle at all. And oh, your poor car! Maybe you need a life sized bumper car. I picture your car looking like my friend Brenda's. Her car always has yellow paint streaks from swiping those big yellow posts in drive throughs, dents, dings...

I started to park my car at work today and noticed that it appeared as though a wreck had happened on the crazy road in front of the building, and ended up tearing through he cable barrier between the road and our parking lot. The yellow posts were flattened too. I decided to park on the alley side of the lot instead. Sadly, that happens quite often. A few years ago, 2 cars on our lot were crushed and 3 others totaled from a wreck on the crazy road. Can't make that up! I had yogurt for breakfast, no lunch, and 1/2 of a roast beef sandwich from Arby's for dinner. It was 70 when I left for work this morning, and sleeting on my way home. What the heck is up with that? Lily and I didn't walk tonight, and I'm taking my medicine and going to bed. Have a great day tomorrow!

Happy Wednesday!

Dee Jay, it was certainly Billy Ray driving weather here today however the forecast I heard for your area was more stay in close to a fire. Thank you for chiming in about the life insurance payouts. I made copies of everything to give my sisters and myself and I think I’ll just split them up now. It’s not like they are that much. Agreed that it’s better to delay the delivery of your new furniture than to let them get covered in construction dust. I like your attitude on dealing with unreasonable people. My boss apparently talked to that guy today but the guy didn’t feel he did or said anything wrong. I am definitely going to hang up on him the next time. That is great you are meeting some of your new neighbors already. That is too funny the contractors are checking with you for 3/8 of an inch. Better to get it right now than sorry later. Marty had them put extra insulation and soundproofing in his office so he can’t hear things upstairs when he is working.

Deegee, some people, huh? I can’t believe that lady calls and goes off on a total tirade at you! I am glad you hung up on her and that is awesome your attorney followed up with a letter to her. I definitely want a super ideal cut diamond. I am still all over the place what I might get; I like the thrill of the hunt better than the end result. I do need a bubble bumper car. I have been looking carefully along the edge and bottom of the car and don’t see anything. We actually went for a drive tonight and Marty didn’t comment on anything acting funny so my car is probably okay. I do need to get my CRBY plate ordered though, huh? That street in front of your office sounds crazy! Did you see on the news about the 90-minute high speed car chase in Denver today? That was quite unreal.

My day was busy but I got a lot done. I had lots of meetings, many reports to review and spent an hour in line at the post office. I filled out the form online to forward my parents mail to our house. I took all the “required” documentation with me and when I get to the counter she says “no problem” stamps my form and I was done. That is probably the least painful estate thing I’ve done (Other than the hour in line).

We went to dinner at a restaurant about 8 miles south of town then drove around for a while. I worked on paperwork tonight and didn’t even look at rings or diamonds.

Marty and the Hyundai dealer made more calls on the car lease – I guess as long as they can’t take money out of my dad’s checking account I am not going to worry about it anymore. What a Mickey Mouse set up they have. I’ve called 5 times, the dealer has called 3 times and no one seems to know what is going on. You can’t tell me my dad is the first person who had a car lease at that dealer and passed away.

The plumbing and heating inspection bill came in – it will cost about $2000 to fix it all. Most of it is because the building codes were so different when the house was built over 50 years ago.

Take care.

Marcy-I'm all over the place with the ring thing too! I have always loved the sapphire Art Deco rings. I was thinking...hmmm...I could pick out a round or princess diamond at about .75-.80 ct and have it set in one of those Art Deco settings for a RHR and then I could put off thinking about upgrading or resetting my ering for another year... Glad Marty didn't notice any damage with your car. You do need that license plate even more than I need BBLEWRAP! And why is it that offending people never seem to think they've done any wrong? I didn't read about the police chase. I don't know what happened here today, but ambulances and fire trucks went by multiple times this morning and afternoon. My window faces the main road now, and I'm seeing and hearing all kinds of interesting things these days.

Today was the first full day I have worked since last Wednesday. This infection has thoroughly kicked my butt. I'm heading to bed in a few minutes...I'm going to try to get 2 full days in this week. I had yogurt for breakfast and a bunch of us at work went to the Lebanese restaurant for lunch. Unfortunately, Matt brought home meatball subs (soooo good) from a pizza place for dinner. The yogurt and Lebanese food were healthy. The meatball sub...not so much. Have a great day tomorrow!

Awwww....Matt was eating a hamburger and had everyone's full attention.

Happy Thursday,

Deegee, I love the picture of your “kids”, that is so cute. They just want some hamburger. An art deco sapphire RHR would be awesome too. We just need to win the lotto and we can buy everything we want. Today I am leaning towards sapphire studs, upgrading my EC diamond and my solitaire. The studs would be new but the other rings wouldn’t be anything new just different. I really do need to get that license plate. BBLEWRAP is great too. The police chase was crazy. Some guy trying to avoid being arrested took a car left running at a gas station that had a 4-year kid in the back. After about an hour he pulled in front of a car and cut it off, pulled the driver out of the car the passenger got out and he took off in that car. Then that car starting having problems from hitting so many cars and he hijacked another car – all of this being filmed from a helicopter. It was about a 90-minute chase. The police got quite a bit more aggressive once the guy moved to a car that didn’t have a kid in it and finally got him cornered somewhere and he took off on foot. I hope you had a good night’s sleep and feel better tomorrow.

Work was very busy today and I kept finding out things my team has missed so I think I’ll back off on doing my reports and pay more attention to our day-to-day work. This is our busiest time and will be for about 2 more months.

I took an early lunch to go to the bank then met Marty for lunch. I left roast cooking in the crock-pot so we had a quick and easy supper.

I talked to my parents insurance company tonight. My paperwork proof of being in charge of the estate may be at the underwriter so hopefully I’ll hear tomorrow or Monday that I can cancel their auto and snow machine insurance. I mentioned getting an adjustor to the house to check the roof but don’t know if that will be handled now or when I hear back from them. I told them they were still more helpful and easy to deal with than the Hyundai leasing company.

Off to drool over jewelry.

Happy Sunday Eve! :wavey:

Where has the weekend gone? Yesterday we did some shopping, I did laundry and not much else. I spent a lot of time looking at diamonds online - not productive but not fattening and it was fun.

Today we had another family work on the parents house day. I think there will be one more weekend and then I can call in the clean out the house crew and then call in the cleaners.

I made homemade biscuits for breakfast and enjoyed more of them than I should. We had a big birthday luncheon at Olive Garden for one of my sister's today so that was fun. I had salad, a bread stick and some spaghetti. I have enough left for both of our lunches tomorrow.

I hope you had a great weekend.

Marcy-my fur kids are a bunch of goofs. I got in bed today for a nap and woke up with 2 kitties wedged against me on the right and Lily Pie stretched out against me on the left. I couldn't move! Maybe they were trying to keep me from rolling out of bed on to the floor. Matt and I ate at Olive Garden tonight and we had to split a piece of the salted caramel tiramisu. I have leftovers for dinner tomorrow (Matt is heading out of town I the morning). I'm glad you had a good time with your sisters! What are you thinking about for your solitaire? Yours is 4-prong, right? The only thingi don't like about the Vatche U113 is that it is 6 prong. I'm used to 4-I wonder if 6 would bug me.

I slept the whole weekend away. I think I'm about to kick it this infection, but I had to get one more prescription yesterday. I still can't hear out of my right ear, but it does feel like it is getting better...maybe. Yesterday it was 65 and we got outside and mounted our address plaque (so now the FedEx guy won't get confused) and did a few other things outside. They predicted 1-2 inches of snow for tonight, and we got 4 inches today with another 4 possibly coming tonight (they revised the forecast). Matt may have to delay his departure in the morning if it is icy outside. I nearly had a jewelry crisis today. I discovered one of my studs missing from the cleaner container. (I confess, I store stuff in the cleaner container.) The last time I remember seeing it was when I took a picture of them with my ering, so I was sure it was just gone. Matt took apart the sink drain and it fell out of the trap. Whew! It isn't a huge diamond, but it is great quality (.56 ACA) and incredibly well matched with the other one. I found a Beverly K mounting that I really like for a RHR. I'll try to post it. Have a great Monday!

I'm thinking something like this for a RHR. I've never bought a princess cut stone. I don't know a thing about them. WF has princess of hearts, or something like that, that I thought would look nice in this setting. You can also get the setting for a round stone, but I thought a different shape would be good for a RHR. Sorry the pic came out so big!

That would be a really pretty RHR! I have some Whiteflash PC studs and they are very sparkly. :appl:

Marcy-Do PC stones show color more than round? What color are yours? It may not matter too much with a setting like this. I calculated that I would need .75ct to fit this one. PC stones are a little smaller than rounds for the carat weight, right? A girl at work has a PC 3-stone ring. I'm going to have to hunt her down tomorrow!

Deegee, your “fur” blanket sounds very warm. I bet they were protecting you from falling out of bed. Too funny. We usually bring home a lot of leftovers from OG too. Is Matt gone all week? Marty will probably be gone quite a bit soon, it is all up in the air as to when he has to travel though. Yes, my ring is a 4 prong. I like it because more of the diamond shows. The ring you are considering is so pretty. I bet they could use a 4 prong head on that ring if you asked them. I am honestly driving myself crazy with what to do – I think I have a definite case of DSS and I am probably going to upgrade my diamond to a higher color and a slightly larger size. I am also seriously contemplating getting the WF 5 stone ring with ½ ctw to wear as my wedding band. Let’s face it – I want it ALL! Plus I am spending money I don’t have yet! I am glad to hear that Matt found your earring. That would have freaked me out.

My WF studs are their ready set go (H/I) and I don’t see any color in them. I believe PC will show color more than a round but a .75 near colorless should be plenty white (IMO) from their princess of hearts cut stones. I am glad to hear you are feeling better.
