I think I like the larger of those two you posted, but the one linked looks promising too. which were you leaning toward?
I think I like the larger one as well, as it looks more square to me and also the smaller one has a rather visible inclusion that you can see in the pics dead center.

I think the 1.07 I linked is worth a look too though. I just have to decide if its worth the extra 2 or 4k for the bigger stone.

I dont think you should go outside your budget if that makes you uncomfortable. But if your budget was just a starting point then I say it would be nice. But again if you really should be staying in your budget look at that linked one. the shape looks nice. Youre right I can see the inclusion on that one stone.

I am definitely still a little nervous about having a custom ring made over the Daussi setting that I KNOW she loves. I suppose if I dont wind up liking the design or if I decide to go back to the stock Daussi setting I could always do that. Risk losing the deposit in the process though.

I cant wait until this is over.

Mark sent me a shot of all 3 diamonds side by side.

1.07 - 1.21 - 1.29

You know I like the shape and look of the smallest one most. Though it does have that inclusion right in the center? Are you still opposed to a lower colored stone to get higher clarity? Because the clarity seems to be the only issue with the two lower prefixed ones ( with nicer shapes)

Don't be concerned you know her and when you see the CAD if you think she will like it she probably will. Then she knows you didn't just remember what she liked. You went above and beyond to have one made just for her. Woman like that sort of thing haha

I really like that floral from whiteflash, I just dont know how shes feel about that rose gold. Does it look like a cocktail ring?

The WF setting is stunning, and I really like the rose gold accent - it sets it apart and makes it different.

I like the smaller one as well, but there looks like an inclusion in the center I agree. You're not referring to the culet are you?

My pick is for the 1.29 - beautiful stone and clarity!

Oh no not refurring to the culet (which looks delicious to me)

I understand being nervous that you feel you know she loves the Daussi setting ... however,is she aware of the other settings that you are considering as a possibility? Does she likely know you are considering having a custom ring made? Is she also familiar with PS in general? I know its hard to think about straying from what you feel she wants, but I gently encourage you to think as to whether she would continue to prefer the Daussi setting were she presented with all the knowledge and choices of settings that you have been since you started your search?

I say all this because a few years ago, I was *quite* happy with my stock setting rings found online and in stores, and the prices I paid. I didn't know any different, and neither did my husband. However, since discovering PS and lurking forever and a day, now I do. I am currently having my own custom upgrade setting made for our 20th anniversary next year, something I'd never have even thought of doing two years ago! I think the kind folks here are gently encouraging you to go with the trusted PS vendors because they know you can have an extremely similar and quite honestly, probably just as beautiful if not moreso, high quality setting custom designed to the exact specifications of the stone you have lovingly hand picked for your future bride. You will probably also spend close to the same amount of money because you have benefitted from the years of experience that the people of PS are sharing with you, and if not the same amount, you can rest well knowing that your money has been extremely *well* spent.

I apologize if I speak out of turn, because I am mostly a lurker here and don't often find I have much to contribute yet. I just see the quandary you are in page after page on this thread, and know my DH would be similar. He can be scared witless to make substitutes when he *absolutely knows* I would "love" something I have pointed out. However, after 20 yrs together, experience has also taught him well that if he finds something that is just as if not more lovely, a better value, and of better craftsmanship, then he durn well better get *that* instead!

Mark verified that it is eye clean.

Honestly I was leaning toward the largest one at first, but for 4k less I think the 1.07 is a great stone.

As long as its eye clean i say that one! I love that stone and for that much less the size doesnt seem that much different to my eye, especially if youre halo'ing it

You're building a ring around the elements that she loves in that ring... and improving on them and on the rest of the ring. I'm sure she'll love it even more because of the work you put into creating the perfect ring for her.

Decided to keep this all in one thread until the completion.

I received the first CADs from ERD.

This is the setting I originally was set on.

I think it's a good start, but I want to make some changes. Firstly the halo needs to be more scalloped to achieve the floral look of the Daussi. Also, does the halo seem small relative to the rest of the ring?

Let me know what you think.

JDNJ that cad is coming along swimmingly! First cads are rarely the ones you keep. I would strongly advise you start a new thread with "thoughts on my ERD CADS" so people will take a look, you may not get as many hits on this old thread. The halo looks the approriate size but youre right it could look more "floral"
