It shows a great ASET! Blue is contrast.
Yes, I think you should get platinum. But honestly, I think you can get a better quality handmade setting for $5000. I'd use Victor or Steven Kirsch and you'll end up with a nicer setting. And someone already recommended Engagement Rings Direct. They unfortunately have CAD images instead of real images on their site, but I would prefer their setting over the Daussi setting because I think it would be equal quality and probably less in cost since you aren't paying for a designer brand name.

Not poor at all. All the green and blue is patterning. It's a great looking stone.

The Daussi setting that I like and have all but decided on (the first setting in my OP) is $3500 in 18k and $5k in PT.
Well there are a fair amount of diamonds in it. I think it's 1.2 carat weight. I dunno.Mrs. W 514|1350964908|3290628 said:JDNJ|1350951951|3290535 said:JulieN|1350951883|3290534 said:What is the price in 18K and in Pt?

That is so much money for that setting! If it is that expensive then I would take the picture of that ring and get Victor Canera or Steven Kirsch to make it for you. I will be much higher quality, it will fit your stone perfectly and she will still love it. I would never consider a stock setting that was that expensive! It also seems like the price jump from 18k gold to platinum is really big!
As for the color of the AVC or AVR I would recommend going lower than F. You aren't going to see any yellow until you get to K or below and even then it will only show up if you have do a side by side comparison and it will be creamy white not yellow. That color lends its self very well to the antique feel of this ring and it will give you more room in your budget.

I'm going to see what ERD can do.

they didnt have a good one, but i found one thread that had a good discription of the guys experience with EDR plus good ring shots of a cushion halo

Cool!
Thanks for all the help. I just gave ERD the link to the ring I like. I assume I have to pay before they put any drawings together? I havent heard back yet.
It looks like they did an awesome job with that ring though.

Usually it's just a deposit.
Also... here's a ring that I THINK is what you want in terms of style. This one is a good link to send to ERD for reference. https://www.pricescope.com/forum/search.php?submit=&st=0&sf=titleonly&sr=topics&author=ascari_2 that poster hasn't said who the vendor is, but I suspect it is ERD anyway. So if you like that setting (it's got the scalloped halo you want) have them adapt it for you to a cushion.

I would tell them exactly the LOOK you are trying to get, and see what they can do with it. Its good that way so that you dont have a very specific idea in mind, and that way you'll be more open to what they come up with. They may have a different idea for the halo, but would produce the same look as the inspiration ring.
ALSO... have you become more lenient on the color at all? I saw you looking at this ring with the H color. I really think that diamond in the other thread is very white. Just wondering if you changed your mind on that to get maybe a bigger stone for your 7000?
nielseel|1351097209|3291461 said:yeah thats a good idea to go into ERD and see the stones. Maybe look at those X factor ones they have too. I think the H was reflecting something in the bible photo which was making it show back the darker color. Seeing the stones in person will help show just how color sensitive you are.
H's dont bother me but they very well may bother you. Everyones eyes are different![]()
