Trying to decide what would have the better "wow" factor:

1. 4.5 ct princess cut G/VS2
2. 3.08 ct princess cut D/vS2

Will the 4.5 ct G color show too much yellow?

I don't think the G should show to much color. Probably don't want to go lower in a
princess. Have you seen these stones? There is so much more to picking a princess
Than just size and color. Do you have aset images? Any pictures?

Yes I saw them today. I could tell a slight difference when looking at them in color.

What are some of the important things to look for in a princess cut?

Also, they are EGL certified. Reading on here it seems like that is not the best thing.

Some more info....The depth is 78.4% and the table is 78% on the 4.5 ct.

78% is a pretty big table. For a princess you look for a nice faceting pattern. An aset will show light leakage.

EGL grades softer so you might not be getting the deal you thing you are getting.

If you look on our search engine you can see the cheapest 4.5 - 4.7 stone is a
4.69 EGL F/SI2 which sells for less than a GIA 4.55 J/SI2 (~$37k). The EGL stone
sells for about $31k.

Most of the stones in this size range are GIA graded and sell from the low end of $37k to over $100k.

That tells me that your 4.5 stone if graded correctly should be selling for around $80k give or take. If you
arent paying close to that then your stone is probably much lower in color/clarity then you think.

You may be ok with that...only you know. We can really give you much more info on your stone because we
dont have pictures or aset images.

You may also want to note that a well cut stone will face up larger looking than a poorly cut stone. Only you
can compare the two. Look at them in as many different lighting situations as you can. Get them away from
the jewelers light.

Look at these stones. ACA princess cut stones. They are AGS000 graded for ideal light return so they are some of
the best. Compare the look of your stones against these.

Edit - that G stone may be too yellow because it probably is not a G by GIA/AGS standards.

Thank you for all the advice so far. The stone is selling for $90k from a very reputable jeweler in town.

So for the table at 78%, what disadvantages does that have?

I will try to get aset images and pictures...do all certified stones have aset images?
