I must be the Grinch today because I think you're going to have a hard time finding a 1 carat (+) D-H for $5k. I'm afraid something is
going to have to give. Cut is the most important and we'll get you a decent cut but you're either probably going to have to go with
a plainer solitaire setting with close to 1 carat or the fancier setting with sub 1 carat stone or perhaps a lower color like an "I" ?
Folks on this thread have made some good suggestions.

I think this close to the holidays the selection is a bit thinner. I think she could hit 1 carat with a plain setting, or buy shy (like a .9) and getting the setting she wants in 14k white gold but not both.

Or you could just go with a Labgrown diamond. And get the same look for 2k and a far higher color. Or you use your whole 6k budget and you can get a 2ct man made diamond. Just be aware you have to vet man made diamonds just as much as you have to vet mined diamonds.

I am willing to look at anything u guys find that is a good deal.

How about this?

I can’t see the GIA cert for that diamond. Did you look at some of the suggestions from the experts above? I like the setting, though!

Please don’t forget that your original diamond was graded H Si2 by the GSI, which is likely not as strict as GIA or AGS. It may well have been an I or a J colour.

Yes, where are you seeing the GIA report for that stone to know it's well-cut @MK86 ?

Please post if you have it. The photo of the stone looks promising.

I like the visuals on that stone, it is lovely. I would want to see it's GIA Report. No way would I commit to a SI1 without seeing the flaws.

I just realized there is no GIA for this daimond. LoL

I used to work for one of the stores that is under the umbrella of where you purchased this. You should be able to stop the purchase. Usually they will give you a window of time of how long it will take for them to size it. So, if you were to process your return today, you should be good. The sizing likely hasn't taken place yet. Depends on where you live. But, regardless, the item is not in your possession. It is in theirs. And, they have a window for returns. You should be just fine.

Thank you for this information.
And yes, we were able to do a return.

Too bad, it looked very pretty. With that medium fluorescence on an F would have been awesome (okay, to me, but I love fluorescent stones). Si1's though could have clouds or other sparkle killers. No Bueno.
