Help evaluate a 7.5 carat stone

@laviejenrose is the 7.55 the bottom stone?

Interestingly, I do don’t detect a brown tint in either stone from the top view…

Correct; 7.55 bottom stone.

Is this what you would expect a L color to look like or is the faint fluoro doing some favors here?

Generally speaking, I love fluoro. However, I don't see any discernible color different between the two L color stones in the pic that you posted. The faint fluorescence in the 7.55 might be more obviously outdoors (due to the increased UV light). Certainly, the faint fluoro can't hurt the 7.55 ct.

How do you feel about the L colors? Do you find them pleasing?

Are you planning to use any melee or side stones in your setting? if so, I recommend that you specify melee in the K/L color range. If I put HRD M next to my D/E stones, I see that the M is more of a creamy white versus a bright white.

Is ags ideal just based on an algorithm? Don’t see anything on cert

AGS is a separate grading facility. You won’t see that on a GIA report. It is not just an algorithm but a light based performance report. The angles of the 7.55 fall more within ideal proportions but not a guarantee that it would achieve AGS0 designation. However, it is a much better cut than the smaller of the two diamonds.

7.55 for sure. Its lovely

Any updates?

I’m currently trying to negotiate their trade up policy in for this stone. So far all I’ve received is a 75% trade up value. Any thoughts on this?

What would you like to end up at? 10 carats? (Just wondering to see where you are with this)

Fabulous to hear you are moving forward!! I can’t wait to see your pictures of the finished piece!

Excited for you @laviejenrose ! Don’t forget to specific warmer K/L melee in the setting-if there is any melee.

This would be a definite no for me!

However.....(I just read through the thread)...the 7.55 is amazing!

Finally back with photos of the final mounted stone! Custom setting took significantly longer than anticipated.

Please there are so many stones out there and you have such a healthy budget go to Yakutia ad ID jewelry . DOn't go to the dealers on street level.
