Help me choose a setting

I prefer the second because it looks like the head is set a little lower and with a larger contact area than on the first setting, which seems to use a basic peg-head. Aesthetics aside the second setting should also be stronger because of this.

Personally though I'd want the little corner-shaped prongs for a princess stone, rather than a flat tab, both to accentuate the stone and to provide a little more protection from both loss and breakage. You might want to ask whether they'll be using this type of prong with a princess stone.

Shane Co because there appears to be less metal between the pave.

Or the inara whiteflash as posted by Gypsy.

im not liking the 18k white gold.

I like the Legato that Gypsy posted up -- and both of those settings also come in platinum.
I liked the second link you posted up (JA) because it looks like it's set lower and high profiles bug me.

Gabriel & Co. also offers a wide variety of settings similar to the style you're looking for. This search is set up for settings costing less than $1500, but you can easily modify the search terms on their site. They refer to this type of setting as "straight". Good Old Gold is one of the PS vendors that carries Gabriel & Co.

Though I have to say, that Legato setting is very elegant!

Thanks all. I decided to go into Joe Escobar Diamonds and was able to find something I like and should be picking up the engagement ring monday.
