I purchased a parcel (One carat total weight of Argyle light pink diamonds) from Judie''s Gems. They measure 1.5 - 2.5mm each. I have a ring, which I am going to take the white diamonds out of. The carat weight for the diamonds total .50 They consist of rounds and baguettes There are more baguettes then there are rounds.

I was thinking of a two tone ring, white gold for the white diamonds and rose gold for the pink diamonds.

OK opinions Please. Part pave setting for the pink diamonds? Help???

I would browse the Internet for ideas...try Leon Mege at www.artofplatinum.com - (the catalogue section of his website)…you might get inspired - maybe tweak the setting here and there...and ‘ta-daa’ a master piece is born!

Given the size and number f the pinks, pave is their fate

... as far as I can tell.

If you look u options online, I'd give a shot a couple of websites in particular: the one of Walter Dickhaut's, THIS and David Keeling's. Wink has a couple of wide paved rings on the list - I wonder if they can make a new design from scratch accommodating unmatched melee (i.e. different sizes and shades in a parcel). Art of Platinum comes by default for pave, although they might be reluctant to deal with anything but their little stones - worth asking, but I wouldn't be surprised by a 'no'.

In the picture below, the yellow & white ring comes from an unknown source, the other from David Keeling.

All in all, I would give pink gold a second thought - if the diamonds are relatively pale, the strong color of the metal will sink them for good. This time, there are quite a few of them to be used and a field of light pink diamonds will look distinctly pink anyway, especially if the design creates some contrast with a couple of whites. IMO, dispersing the pinks so that they do not form a 'patch' of color would wash out the color... could be wrong though, especially if the color of these pinks is stronger than the subtle thing I imagine. For example, the wide ring at the left below and THIS at Pearlmans go this way, making neat swatches of color. (btw. the one down the previous link is paved with white diamonds on pink gold - wish those were pink, right

'Bet there will be allot more on this thread!

oooh, I''m loving that sapphire band idea on the right. Where *do* you find all these Val?

Anyway, I''m not sure what to do. I have one idea I''m not too fond of though..the rather typical alternating round-baguette eternity band. Just not very into that look, personnally.

The sapphire dot ring has a brother in the Picture Gallery here. And this one is Wink's after a good doze of paint; wouldn't mind a simple ribbon of pink diamonds like that at all

If the size of the little diamonds varies quite a bit, the pave would look more 'cobly' and will probably have to be done the old way - by hand... one reason why non-calibrated parcels of diamond melee are not quite as high priced as the calibrated. But the result looks nicer, IMO.

Speaking of mix & match sizes in pave... these have more variation than your pink parcel, but are the closest example I came upon online. Obviously both pieces contain quite a bit fewer diamonds than you need to work out.

Ana,

As always you come up with the most fantastic ideas. THANK YOU.

I love the last ring you came up with.

You are right about not setting them in rose gold, they would be washed out.

All, that is not actutally a sapphire ring. It''s a bracelet. I had emailed them and asked about having that ring made and they told me it''s a bracelet not a ring, the picture is deceiving.

Linda W,
Where is Judie''s Gems? I was looking for some pinks also.

What type of ring are you thinking of - engagement style or something else? This one would use a center stone, so I don''t know if it helps, but it does incorporate baguettes and pink stones:

Oh that''s funny! I kept dreaming for a while ....

That would be very narrow... for a intricately paved ''ring'' wouldn''t it... sorry for the confusion.

It looks like this one has a ring brother though (rightly labeled this time).

Btw, the bracelet (now that I know the story!) more than the ring''s design had this strong ''deja vu'' to it... Probably no connection, but... who knows. Here''s what I am talking about:
