Similar to the requests of @ean, @donnabrsd and @Rockerchic, I would be grateful for your help in finding a blue sapphire. My budget is $2.5k and I’m hoping for a non-elongated/square cushion of 7 mm+. I assume this means I need to focus on sellers abroad in Sri Lanka and Thailand. I am fine with that so long as other PSers have had positive transactions with the seller. However, because returns would be quite a hassle, I want to feel confident about any potential purchase. This is why I could use your expert help!
I’m planning to set the stone in the ring design below, which both @Cerulean and I love. This is a ring that Diana of Sin City Finds has made a few times. She recently decided to stop accepting custom work and gave me her blessing to have another jeweler replicate it. (And in any case, it is in itself a replica of an antique ring.)
I’m not sure what the proper terminology is to describe the shade of blue I’d like, but I’ll try: I’d like an electric, light Royal Blue with intense saturation and rich color that can be seen glowing from across the room. While I live in a largely sunny place now, there is a good chance we’ll be moving to a mostly overcast place, so I’d like a stone that doesn’t go completely dark under gloomy, gray skies.
Am I asking for the moon on such a modest budget?
Thank you in advance for your help. I’ve had some bad luck with jewelry in the past so would be too scared to make this purchase on my own!

I’ve reached out to a few vendors without much luck so far:
Nafees at Gem Ocean has an oval that looks pretty to me but no cushions, though he is checking if he can find one.
Neither Jeff Davies nor Ivan at Adamant have any square cushions in my size.
GemHouseLK had a couple but one is much too light - more cornflower blue - and the other seems to my untrained eye to have some extinction. Gem Fielders only has ovals. In the US, Ivy and Rose has one, but it is darker than I’d like and Alex Parks doesn’t have any any.
Anywhere else I should look?
