I think this is a classic case of "everyone will have his/her own preference." Because you have an amazing solitaire, you can''t go wrong! I don''t think this is a matter of which one looks best because they all look great! People will respond based on personal preference, so I think you have to decide which you like best in real life :) Also, make sure you consider possible damage that a shared prong band could do to your solitaire without a spacer band. You could always keep your 2mm band as a spacer. I actually love all of the bands you already have (the plain band and your Bahamas band)! If you also get the 3-pointers band, you could have a nice little stack for the days you don''t want to wear your ering. You can''t go wrong!

I like option 3!

Jil, as you know, I have the same setting(ish). And let me tell you.... this setting simply does not go with any other style of band than a plain one. It looks killer with a plain band. But it is so low to the finger than you really cannot pair it with any diamond band. Even my Dream band from BGD is too thick at 2mm. In addition, I have found that the taper towards the diamond also works against a diamond band, somehow it makes the proportions look wrong.

My solution: I am changing my setting

But I like your solitaire with the plain band or a half eternity with 3 to 5 pointers.

Thanks to everyone who responded. I appreciate hearing your thoughts. I was just tallying up the votes and it looks like a tie between the plain band and the small diamond band. I''m really torn. The plain band looks nice, but I do think I like some bling on my wedding band. My only concern is that 3 pointers won''t be "sparkly" enough.

First, I love your ering!

Puffy Heart slathered in drool! It is so feminine and dainty in the shank and so WOW in the size of the stone...Perfect!

And I love your Bahama ring! It has a really cool spin to the classic and frankly, it adds something extra. So cool you have that option. (would love to see a photo shoot close up for details, if you have time! Like I need to drool more?)

The plain band is so classic and anyone would be proud to have that combo. Elegant and really makes that two-forty sing opera! Do I understand that was you last set? So are you wanting to do something different? Have you stacked your Bahama with the plain one...or are you set on wearing just two? Because if you are going to wear Bahama ring...I would definitely go with the plain one!

I don''t care for the 10pointer...for no other reason other than I like the 3 pointer BETTER as it mimics the width of your 2 mm ering closer. Again, here...if you got it you could also wear the Bahama ring on the other side and really bling it out!

So in my order...I would go Bahama/paired with plain, Plain on it''s own is yummy 10 squared, 3 pointer marriage made in heaven to your ering, ....and then I''d pass on the 10 pointer.

If you got the 10 pointer now, you would never have a need for another upgrade. Leave that one out there, just in case!!

Casablanca, thanks so much! Your post made me smile!

hi jill_s :)

i think a ring that was a combo of a couple of them would work best.

i really dislike the look where the eternity band is so much thicker than the e-ring or wedding ring that the sides of both rings dont line up and the eternity ring ends up looking waaay thicker.

for that reason, i like eternity rings worn alone, or with rings a size of so larger so they line up visually. given that your e-ring is already a set size, i''d go with the effect of a 7 stone ring. even the 3 pointer eternity is too thick and protrudes for my taste. i also think there''s too much metal/prong compared to the 3pt diamonds.

i think, tho, that the 10 pointer ring is too big. so i''d go with a 7 x 8pt ring. it would allow the e-ring to be slightly more dominant than the 10 pt ring allows, and it would line up better than an eternity ring is going to, while still being a better metal to diamond ratio than the 3 pt ring.

but having said all that....

i love that 2mm plain ring also! and your e-ring, of course, is to die for.

here is a tiffany version in yellow gold of what i think would look best - 7 x .08 stones, .56ctw. try to imagine this in platinum....

Whitby - thanks so much for your thoughts. Your new LM is absolutely breathtaking. I''ll bet you''re just dying to see it in person! After seeing your photos, I''ve been thinking seriously if something like that would be a good fit for me!

Jill, you E-ring is stunning with the 2mm band!!

I have to ask you to please post more pics! Ive been waiting for your handshots!

I personally like Option 1, 2, & 5! Option 1 - subtle bling, very pretty! Option 2 - plain and the e-ring is like BAM! Option 5 - Shared prong, my personal favorite!! I like the smaller pointers so it doesnt overpower your stunning e-ring. Looks amazing in these WF pics! As long as the shared prong band is super low-profile and little metal it will look great IMO!

wsblue - thanks for your thoughts! I know I''ve been slacking with those handshots! Your new ring is just stunning. I''m actually curious what kind of band you''re planning to pair with it. I know you mentioned in an earlier thread wanting a big blingy eternity band. Is that what you''re still considering with your new setting? I like the look of a big diamond band, but I''m afraid it will overtake my little 2mm wide solitaire setting!

The ones I like the best are the Bahamas ring, the Tiffany Whitby suggested, and the WF ring. I agree with Whitby that the lower the height of the ring and the less metal, the better. Have you considered two micropave bands -- one on each side?

And, your diamond is beautiful!

sarap - you know, I do like the look of two bands, but my fingers are really short and I don''t feel like I have the finger real estate to pull it off. Boy, do I wish my fingers were longer and more slender!

I like the smaller eternity band.

Seriously, though, this is such a subjective thing. Which do you like best when you''re looking down at your hand?

If I were in your predicament I''d get a couple rings and change it up every once in a while.

GORGEOUS stone, by the way.

Haven - great suggestion on the multiple bands - I think that''s what I need to do.

Sometimes I think I would like a smaller diamond band and others I think I might want to bling it out!

Gorgeous ering! Wow love that size. I love the plain band. I also like the diamond bands. Speaking from experience, I had a WF 3 pointer eternity band that I wore with my 1.01 ct WF Legato solitaire but decided the band wasn't enough when I wasn't wearing my ering. It was just too thin and minimal for my taste. So I got a WF uternity with 10 pointers. I now wear that with my ering and I love it. And I love it by itself too for the times I decide not to wear my ering. I was a little worried it would overpower my ering but it doesn't. I get lots of compliments on the set.

Anyway, just wanted to add my 2 cents! Go with what you love.

katie - thanks so much for chiming in. I have drooled over your threads with the smaller diamond band and your Uternity. Seeing your thread was what prompted me to buy the fake eternity to see if that would work for me, as I love your beautiful eternity band! How do you find the height difference between your Legato and the Uternity? That's my main concern with a band that has larger i.e. ~10pt. stones. However, your set looks stunning!

Dreamer - thanks for your thoughts! I''ve spent a lot of time looking through your threads trying to decide what to do. I have also been thinking of your Dream band as another option. I think I''m realizing what you''ve already realized - that while the Legato setting is really beautiful, it''s a little difficult to pair with another band if you want the heights to match up. You''re right, the plain band does look really good with the setting, I just want something with a little bling!

I like the plain band as well as the 3 pointer eternity band with your pretty solitaire ring. Both look nice and balanced with your ring. I always find it fun to wear a variety of looks with your ring; switch them out according to your mood.

I have a big preference for eternity bands over anniversary bands as worry over 'ring spin' doesn't exist.

I love the Bahamas band, it goes so well. You can always get a larger one later...

First of all, your e-ring is amazing! I absolutely love it.
30.gif

I really like your e-ring with a plain band - the stone just pops! But I think I may like it even more with the 3 pointer band!! It seems to go really nicely width-wise, is very delicate and elegant, and so sparkly!

I love your bahama ring and I love your plain band. What about stacking the bahama ring below your spacer?

thanks Jill! I am super picky and the height of the uternity with the 10 pointers doesn''t bother me at all. The uternity is actually really low-set and comfortable. Like you, I just didn''t feel like the 3 pointer band was sparkly enough. I also like to wear my rings with a little gap - although they tend to sit pretty flush. So I''m happy and am so glad I went with the uternity! Best of luck and can''t wait to see what you decide to go with!

Hi Jill,

I think your solitaire ring is beautiful and classic. I love the look of it with the plain band the best. My 2nd choice is the 3 pointers. Like others mentioned, the widths of the bands are similar, and the small sparkles will complment your solitaire nicely. Or how about if you stack all 3? I think that would be a great look as well.

I can''t wait to see what you decide!

So many great choices!! But my favorite is the Bahama ring.
