I''m trying to find a setting for my upgrade. It''s a 1.74 RB I SI2. I really want a set as I have never had a wedding band. My original was an engagement ring with a guard.

Here is a picture of some rings I have been eyeing. Which would you pick? #1 and #2 don''t have a matching wedding band, but I think I could find something. I''m open to suggestions as you can probably get an idea of they style I''m going for.

Thanks,
jayrenay

Here''s a bigger picture of the head on #3. I love it, but not to sure about all the prongs.

I made the whole thing bigger, hopefully it will be easier to see.

Have you looked at Ritani''s rings? They are made to fit flush with a wedding band and their pave settings are very well made and a reasonable price for a designer setting.

here''s a pic of mara''s friend''s ritani with a 1.6 center

I love the ritani set. It might be priced well for a designer setting, but it''s still more than I am willing to pay. Unless I was looking at the wrong rings, they were over $2000 each.

I forgot that I also really like the flush fit settings from signed pieces. This one''s $2000 for both.

oh hehe - that''s what I like best about it, and looking at it up close makes me like it even more! It''s beautiful!!

Thanks Cehrabehra! It''s actually my favorite too.

Do you think the 8 prongs would make the stone look smaller, bigger or the same?

Someone posted on another thread that the Ritani setting was $1600. Now that changes things completely! Does anyone know the exact price and where to get it.

Definitely number 3. I have that one saved too!

Another vote for # 3, in case you don''t mind some color i had it set with blue/green melee.

I love #3. I think the 1.73 ct can handle 8 prongs. I also loooove the colored melee rendition admin did. Makes the design element really pop.

I also love the Ritani, if that is any way in the running. If not, #3 all the way!!

Awesome thanks! That looks very cool! Maybe blue sapphires as that is my birthstone. I hadn''t even considered colored stones.

jayrenay, if you do go with sapphires i would greatly appreciate if you come back and tell if you see any difference in your diamond color with some blue behind it.
Where this mounting comes from?

You''re too smart! LOL I hadn''t even considered that the sapphires would affect the color of the diamond! Good thing I''m not doing this alone!! Something to definitely consider.

I''m a big fan of the ritani set and knox jewelers #4 that you posted, simple but beautiful.

If you''re looking for an online vendor Pearlmans carries it for $1995..Bailey banks and biddle carries Ritani but I''m not sure how much they sell the setting for.

Obviously I'm late in my reply...but I like #3 and was going to ask for a bigger photo of it!!!

I think that the 8 prongs will look GREAT. I think they will make the diamond look bigger. Somewhere on PS there was a thread about prongs making a stone appear larger with graphic photos and all.

The Ritani is nice too. Pick the setting that you like the best.

But the stones on the side of the band in #3 may cause problems with a wedding band. The diamonds may eat into the band.

Such hard choices we have to make.

I think I replied to you on the pave settings thread, but I''ll ask here too. Do you know if the $1995 is for both rings or just the ER?

Thanks,
jayrenay

Thanks for the heads up about the wedding band and engagement ring possible problems. I think I''ll send off an email and ask some questions.

I''m also going to go looking for the thread about prongs! I''d love to see some pictures!

Thanks mrssalvo,

On another thread it was said that the set was $1995 and another poster said she thought her finace paid $1600 for the set. I can afford the set price, but not that much per ring.

thanks again,
jayrenay

Love #3. Love the idea of bringing blue sapphires into your set! Also I think 8 prongs are really pretty.
